Doesn't work any more. The app used to work well, especially my my old TV. I then most recently found the remote, so I'm glad to have had this app to have worked as a back up. I was, going to see if this app would work on my newer TV, and am stuck with the same error message when I try to create a new remote, like their system/web broke. Unlike what others say, this app is not a waste of time, but when it does work again, try it. Sent from a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1" with a built in IR Blaster.
Edit to add: Found another video that gave slightly better information & now have a workable, if limited, remote for my 10 year old tv. However, the ads! Who thought it was a good idea to have video ads play when using the app as a TV remote? Another issue is that to access digits to select a tv channel, my phone has to be turned side on which is awkward. Installed ok. Opened ok. Easy to choose an appliance and a brand. At that point the information offered in the help window is inadequate. I'm offered a code set of 19 in total but it's not really clear how I'm supposed to choose. I've watched the YouTube video and it similarly skims right over this important piece of information and there is no other link to provide further information. In the absence of anyway of knowing which code set to select, I simply chose the 1st one. The default layout is fine & looks functional but is the incorrect one for my TV. An improved method for correctly determining the correct choice of code set plus an expanded help function would make this actually useful.
Works and isn't a big rush of ads - that fact shocks me, especially in light of the other reviews. Still, it didn't have an LG service remote option, which is what I needed to disable that freaking ABSL static image dimming that's making me want to pull what's left of my hair out, but at least it actually worked as a regular remote...
Looking for an IR remote for my 20 year old radio, tried this app selected the radio remotes and it loaded dvd players or something. All the remotes had buttons for pip but no volume buttons. Every time I touched a button it would load an ad. Load an ad when selecting a remote to try. Load an ad when opening the app.
deny access to my photos and media files, because this app doesn't need permission to my folders, and it glitches and refuses to work. Didn't get to see if this garbage app works because it won't let you do anything if you don't accept permissions to your gallery and video files. uninstalling.
No longer supported. Used to work, now it's only good for ad delivery--that part works entirely too well! Apparently, the developer is fine with collecting ad revenue but can't be bothered to maintain the app. Don't waste your time with this one. Gets one star because I can't give zero.
very few IR remote apps left and this one works great. Sometimes it takes a few tries but once you find the correct code it works good as long as your using a device that ACTUALLY has an IR BLASTER not just an IR receiver like most new phones come with. I bought a Galaxy S6 Edge which was the last Galaxy that Samsung put the IR BLASTER in.
Awesome. Don't have a remote so manually turned TV on and off for a few years. App is perfect for me. TV is 12 years old. Has a few years left. Screen is now started to fade slowly.
Could not get past stage one. Screen comes up asking me to select my device type. I tap television and it says spelling wrong. You could at least program in feedback messages that make some sense. Total rubbish. Rate it zero.
Terrible. Glitchy. Horrible user experience. Screen freezes. App skips ahead and does not work. 100% garbage and waste of my time. I wish I could leave "zero stars". Also, LOADED with ads. Avoid this app at all costs.
I used to love this app, it worked perfectly.... now it's impossible to do anything. I try to choose the remote, and it keeps telling me something about using the SIM card? Then it says "would you like to continue?" And I push "yes", but it still doesn't let me create the remote. Fix this and it will be 5 stars!
Well it's a good app , but I couldn't find my acs company in it , it would be a great initiative if you guys allow people to add their own Remote by copying the keys from products orginal Remote , I have seen this function somewhere in setupbox Remote , named as airtel
Just need it to turn on and off my tv, because the on off button on my remote control no longer works. Super easy to set up and worked first time I used it!!!!!!
Unfortunately all this app does now is loop at the initial start up where it asks you to choose a device type with a toast that says spelling was wrong and to try again. Nope, you try again, mate. Then I'll change my rating.
Does what it says and the selection of brands is very large. Has helped me out numerous times when remotes go missing. Simple button layouts.
Works perfectly fine. Specially people using Sony products, this is the only app which worked with my music system and believe me I have tried almost everything else.
Seems broken. Update 10/8/21 after dev fixed program. Can't make it past intro tutorial. 30 or so ads popped, intro resets. Still broken. Tested on a Samsung Note 9. Android 10, One UI 2.5
Not working. A bug in the app causes it to fail when searching the remotes database. Has been reported by many users and not fixed as of June 2021
Horrible UI that doesn't work and the app doesn't work. You get an AD before the app even starts.
Way too many ads. As soon as one was done another started less than a second after. Complete waste of time.
App asks for permission to read files. I don't know why would TV remote app need such permissions, but in case you refuse to give them it will be stuck in some kind of loop. Don't download it.
Can't select brands anymore. This used to be the greatest IR blaster app. Edit 19/10/21 : Developer fixed the Issue. Great to see they are still working on this. Great job.
It's not the best but it works all right if you turn off the Wi-Fi before you start it. If it still tries to load an ad at the app start then just press the back button and it should be okay.
Good app, simple, several choices, a lot of devices available Dear Wavespark, still have same "error" message: , 'there were no results, check uour spelling...' is there a way i can fix it?
pointless app. have a sanyo the flat screens with no menu buttons on the side and this app literally does nothing. all the sets ive tried just pressing them, it doesnt even look like I press anything. it literally does nothing.
Shows "There were no results. Please check your spelling and try again." for all categories when trying to make a new remote. It used to work fine, and was my favorite IR Remote app until this happened. Also the IR Remote widget doesn't do anything when I press the buttons. I can still use the remotes I have, which is good, but I can't make any new ones until this is fixed.
