I would like more control over the drum beats. As an ex-drummer (now a pianist) I would love to alter a rhythm (tone, and contant) and also change rhythms for A & B sections. Update comments: I'm aware of the work involved in adding so many new beats/styles. I'm sure there are many of us that will dig into them and enjoy. I Hate to bring up anything on the down side - but I would still LOVE to have that straight a head, driving, old fashion Shuffle. I know --- I'm showing my age. Barry Tee
I have to say I am disappointed in this app now. I've had it for about 7 years and I paid for the full version then, and now after 7 years I need to pay for the blues styles? That used to be included. I have overlooked the fact that the guitar sounds are terrible and so are the rock styles, but now having to pay for the blues styles, it's really just ridiculous. If you want to charge people who are new to the app fine, but not people who have been using it all along and paid for it.
Absolutely brilliant for jazz practice. Not so good for pop or rock. Could do with some better tempo control features, as well as the ability to tack an outtro after any number of runs through of the main parts.
Excellent app for working on your improvising!! Take it anywhere. Always ready when you are. The band that never complains when you make a mistake.
Definitely a recommend! And one added note - had a problem with using it in Win 10 with a simulator but Warren in their customer service (their information online says they can't help with emulator problems because they don't control the software) Warren suggested a fix which worked beautifully so I'm now flying with Win 10 and this great tool ireal pro! THANK YOU Warren
I installed this app as it was recommended to me by my music teacher. Little did I know the Android version doesn't work AT ALL. I can't even use the most basic functionality like restarting from a specific place of my choosing or looping a part. I thus wanted to transfer the app to my iPad where it is supposed to work but it seems I can't do this without paying for it again. I tried contacting the company or the people that made the app but there was absolutely no reaction at all.
The app needs adjustment for efficient reading and analysis. Some examples are; 1) "^" tells us we have a Major 7th chord. The app adds extra 7th to read. This is bulky and untrue. 2) The "-" symbol instead of the lower case "m" is not efficient. It is harder to see, & it can be confused with other things. 3) A simple m^ chord now must have the bulky and untrue extra "7" written in to be recognised by the player. A tad frustrating when requiring efficient reading.
amazing tool for learning, sharing, creating, practicing, and gigging. needs to learn what Fb is, though, because that has been a barrier on several occasions.
This is a fantastic chord playing app. The forum-sharing function and composition function in particular are intuitive and streamlined.
Very useful app for musicians, worth every cent. The customer service was also very reactive when needed.
I bought extra styles and they are NOT syncing to all my devices - only shows on my cell not on my tablet!!!!
Very useful and worth the money has all the Jazz Standards plus there is so many songs added every week.
Good morning all, This app is incredible! I Love all of the capabilities it offers. Too many to list.You can really master the chord changes of songs with due diligence and commitment. I also Love the fact that the melody of the tune is not included. This forces the musician to learn it hopefully on their own. Ear training I feel is still very, very critical in the development of musicians. I am having a problem using it with my Laptop. It always displays the message that the app is already installed which I know it is on my phone. I am unable to choose my Laptop as the device I want to use because it is not showing in the list of devices. Please help me solve this long standing problem. I greatly appreciate your guidance and Thank you Again for a wonderful app!
Love the app and that it's more geared towards jazz musicians and repertoire. One thing I wish it had though was the ability to hear a starting pitch possibly during the count off. I'm a jazz vocalist who sings by ear and doesn't read music. That being said, I DO know a good portion of the jazz standard vocal repertoire and it would still be good to hear my starting pitch before singing. People I play with usually extend that courtesy and it would be good to have it available on the app as well!
The professional version of iReal Pro has been an incredibly useful tool, as I'm constantly faced with situations with dynamic song lists. While I love my Real Book, it's a bit much to carry. But this app has far more than just jazz standards for me to demolish on stage. The forum search tool enables me to find additional material created by other users. The app is also a useful teaching tool, as it will play music to give me a chance to practice. Transposing to any key, and number system!
I love this app. I used it to enter chords from the Rikky Rooksby songwriting book and got addicted. So I can go through the exercises in the book without my computer. It's my fav chord progression making software. I wish I could audition chords before writing them. Also more playing styles and instruments please!!!! However it does what I needed it to do. Really really enjoying it, but it is slightly flawed.
Great tool with some drawbacks but well worth the money: When you change a groove all the instruments revert to default, can't hear a change in drum patterns unless you start over (a bug...) ; can't set a new name when you share. Biggest drawback: Grooves bound to particular sets of instruments based on the developers' arbitrary tastes- can't add or change instruments - that is the musician's choice, not the developer's choice.
Really good for practicing piano with an accompaniment that sounds pretty good. I love using it. Makes practise much more engaging. I have one improvement suggestion after a few days of fairly intensive use. I often mis-count 4x repeats (and more) so it would be a great help if the app highlighted the next bar/measure too but in a different colour or way.
Absolutely amazing. Best practice tool you can get. 5 stars are not enough. The loop function directly from the player is incredibly useful to learn songs. The only nitpick I have is that loop let's you choose 2 or more bars, while a beginner (ie me) often needs to loop a single bar. The workflow for that is more difficult (create new song with single bar etc).
Initially installed on my Android Samsung phone and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately, when I went to my Samsung tablet, the device I planned on using the app, this app would not install. The prompt states not configured for device. A list of non compatible android devices would have been helpful. I have no intention of using this app with a phone. Cheers.
Just purchased this app thinking it was a pro app. After using it for a few hours and trying to write a score, I realised that it doesn't do off beats, which is pretty essential when scoring music. Looked at some forums about this topic and this issue seems to go back years, you would have thought the developers would have addressed this by now, seems there not listening to there customers. Very disappointed. Can you please sort this issue out? Serious musicians beware!
