Ironclad Tactics

Ironclad Tactics is a fast-paced, card-based tactics game set in an alternate history Civil War – with steam-powered military robots!

• No ridiculous in-app purchases! Unlock cards by playing the game, not by purchasing them separately.
• Experience unique gameplay, blending the precision of tactics and card games with the spontaneity of a fast-paced strategy game.
• Follow the campaign story through a fully-illustrated interactive graphic novel.
• Collect cards as you play through the campaign and build your own decks to crush your foes.

SCREEN SIZE NOTICE: This game was designed for tablets. Although it may run on your phone, it will probably be too small to play!

TRANSPARENCY NOTICE: Ironclad Tactics is not "free to play"; instead, the first six missions of the main campaign are available for free, after which the rest can be unlocked for around $4. After unlocking the main campaign, you'll be able to unlock all of its missions, cards, and stories without any additional in-app purchases. Two bonus add-on campaigns are also available for around $3 each. On the PC this game costs $15, with the add-on campaigns costing $5 each, which makes the Android version a bit of a discount from the normal PC price.

Looks good, until you read it's a demo, should put it's a demo in the title, I downloaded, played a little, but just decided to settle down to game properly to find that I'd completed the demo. Little disappointed due to not seeing this earlier (although the devs haven't hid it, it would've been clearer in the title) Will have to wait to pay the small amount needed to unlock the game, but I may do so, as it looked fairly good, and not too easy

To select cards, swipe right across the card. To deselect cards, swipe left across the card. It is completely playable on Android Samsung S5 and I have almost finished the last expansion. It is a wonderful game and I wish they made this instruction more clear. I figured it out myself by trying. It is better for tablets though in the deck building menu.

Pretty hard to read on my screen with no zoom in. Selecting/cards is tricky and I wish they would fix it so turning the sound down turns all sound down. Ambient sound still remains playing for some reason

Great to see a game with character doing things its own way, and i personally coundn't care less whether it syncs with cloud media. Sure its nice to upload scores and swap opinions about a game but to give a one star rating to a complex well written piece of essentially free software just because it doesn't have some functionality you'd like it to have is about as broadminded as refusing to eat a cake because it has no usb adapter.

Great game. Just know its not free, its a demo. But its interesting and engaging. And I'd like to respond to a previous review. Rating an entire game 1 star because it doesn't have cloud save is ridiculous. Its like saying "This car is great but doesn't have navigation so its the worst car in history."

Hate this game. Too much reliance on random chance. I can't build a decent strategy if I have next to no clue what I'm getting next.

Only the first levels are free, you'll have to pay for the rest. However there's no ads, and no micro transaction other than unlocking main quest and two dlc, for a grand total of 6.5 euros. Fair business imho.

This game is stretched on Nexus 9, please get it together and offer something that is of actual quality on the leading Android development devices. Also the lack of immersive mode is very disappointing.

The game itself looks pretty. But it is no good on small screen :/

The developer answered my halfway sarcastic feature request in about 10 minutes, in the middle of the night. Dedication.

It is impossible to select cards when using a phone. To be fair they do say it is a direct port from tablets. I really like the idea of the game and will try it if there is ever a phone playable version.

But the story is absolutely dumb. I had fun playing it but if you're going to put a story in the game, complete with good illustrations, make it a good story. Also, there could probably be a few more levels.

Runs fine on LG G PRO2. Swipe left right on lower portion of card in deck editor to add or remove a card. Fantastic support from dev.

... but its laggy a bit and all buttons and text are way too small. Game require good dexterity and sight to play. Oh, and its a very short demo.

I know this is probably my fault rather than theirs, but this game seems impossible to progress in, I just got thrashed in the early levels! If there were some sort of difficulty setting, it'd get 4 or five easily. :-)

It's not turn based, they are too fast, no enough time to make tactical choices at all

Maybe. This game has a big potential, but all the feedback from the users seems to be being neglegted.

Pat. S. Nov 16, 2014

This game is great but... Where's the multiplayer that Steam users get? There's no in game option to go into vs. Mode. I've put a lot of hours building my deck thinking I could challenge others. A big letdown. :(

It's 2014: Any game that doesn't sync with Google Play, Facebook, Dropbox or some other cloud platform is disappointing & a 1 star game

Zach is brilliant, as always. State-of-art game mechanics, clean UI, twisty plotline, beautiful artwork. The IAP is nasty though, but there are solutions for this problem.

The game won't let me select cards in deck editor

Haw. M. Mar 20, 2016

You shouldn't have to buy it after you should put demo on it

Joh. D. Jul 14, 2015

the game is soo fun, nice story, the font is small but not a problem.. never played anything like it in play store, I wander what makes the rating soo bad..

Bri. D. Oct 26, 2014

It runs to slow for the pace it wants to set

Vin. L. Dec 1, 2014

Fast paced game but could have more tutorials so far I like it Plus has good graphics. Plus you can play it offline awesome!!!

Zam. L. Feb 11, 2016

The game cannot play after i download it.

Jim. H. Oct 14, 2014

Although it's clear in the description the game is designed for tablets, it would be nice if fonts and other interface element were a bit bigger so the game could be more easily played. I also own Baldur's Gate, and those devs included a control panel to increase font size, making the game much more playable. Otherwise, the game is fun, so I'll give it four stars for now. I'll upgrade to five stars if the devs make legibility mods--although they're under no obligation to do so--clearly stated in the description. Galaxy Note 3

Would love to see cloud sync and multiplayer!

Fun concept, good execution, and I appreciate a lack of micro transactions.
