Too complicated. Couldn't make it work.
First of all, the APP is useless without purchasing and installing iRule Builder on your PC. That said, iRule Builder is a very good application to allow users to CREATE custom remote controls for many IP controlled devices (and IR) in your home network. Whether you consider Builder "easy" or "difficult" really depends on your understanding of basic programming skills - although Builder makes it pretty easy. Now for my thoughts on the iRule App - you have to have it on your client "handsets" which is basically your "remote control" (ie. tablet, phone, either iOS or Android) So the App works just fine. No issues. Both Builder and App allow you to have a pretty hi-tech control system of your household devices. (ie. home theater and other IP controlled devices) but App is useless unless you take the dive and get into iRule Builder.
This is one of the best universal control apps available. It is not an easy wizard setup and does require other hardware. You have to do programming using a browser based application. That being said it works great. It will control AV equipment, lighting and more.
This is a total waste of time. Sure there is learning curve but a lot of things just don't work and it's total garbage
"Unable to Authenticate" on first run. Not clear how to begin using!
They want money for this? Seriously? It's a nightmare to configure, it doesn't even have my Xperia X Compact on the list and let's forget about the devices.
Dumb stupid app
Been using irule for years, one of the best apps ever created. Created a tablet based media center control that anyone can use it ... and I mean ANYONE! Worth the time to setup!
Doesn't work on the note 5, get a continuous sign in loop with google
I am using redmi note 3 and it doesn't work. It just requires a login loop and nothing.
Keeps having issues connecting to network devices. Kill the app, open it again and it works. It works on iPhone.. The issue has not been resolved in 18+ months, and makes me feel the app isn't really much of a priority for the authors..
Pleas add features in the builder to support (Motorola droid turbo 2) please and thank you
The Google plus sign in on my Galaxy Note 4 gets in an endless loop and on the note 10.1 you have to manually log in every time you launch the app. Makes a universal remote more painful than having multiple remotes
I have used this app for over 2 years and believe it works very well. One person gave it One Star stating he/she could not get it to work on a Note 4 - I currently am using it on a Note 4 and have been for over a year. Granted - this is not an app you want if you expect the simplicity of a Harmony remote - there is a learning curve and it is well worth it. Just because an individual is not willing to invest the time does not mean it is a bad App. Keep up the good work iRULE!!!!!!!
Following the recent updates the app is very lacky and I can't use the or codes I learned to it spending a good amount of time. Please FIX.
Frequently I lose connection and the software automatically logs me out of my account. When the software works, it is awesome.
It's been work in progress for for too long.. Please get it sorted
Great except for periodic re-sign-in glitch with the Google+ authentication.
Very very buggy, for how much this cost I would not recommend buying.
Was a bit buggy but bearable before, but since update I have to log in with Google + account everyday and restore my gateways. Loses all settings too. I spent a good sum of money on this system as well as a ton of time, so please fix.
The app works and setup is a breeze. My main issue is that about once a week I'm forced to sign in with Google +. Kinda annoying please fix soon
Very buggy, Web design tool also buggy and cumbersome. Could be a great app but needs a lot more work. Android version for me completely unusable, crashes every few mins
No longer logs in to google+
This is a product that has matured very well. There were hurdles along the way but for some time now the iRule / On Controls app has truly performed. Projector, HDTV, Audio Mix, Amp, Matrix, Media Center, DVD, Multi Zone...in the Living Room or the Board Room.... its all under solid unified control across multiple handsets. EZ Touch Remote in FLL has surpassed my expectations.
This used to be a very good app, unfortunately it seems all the effort now goes into new tricks for the iPhone version and very little to fix the bugs which have plagued the Android software for a while. There are major problems with keeping the app running - it crashes, loses network connection, needs to be force stopped from the Apps list and occasionally I have to restart the phone. There are several posts about this on the help forums which they haven't bothered to acknowledge.
I use this app to control everything in my house for almost a year...I use it as my graphic user interface for my audio video, lighting controls, security. What is nice is that I can bring all the controls into one touch panel. With some tinkering you can control anything. But be aware you can only do this if you have network and gateway devices.....the ones irule recommends are fairly inexpensive. But u also can contol anything with an ip address also.
Used to work perfect but has had bugs since mid last year and they have yet to fix them!
Some basic instructions or guide would be helpful. Too complicated, constant "No gateway/network/device/whatever assigned". Of COURSE not. I'm trying to assign the damned things, but without instructions I have absolutely NO idea how to drive it. It's too fiddly farty for me to be bothered with.
