Isle of Skye: The Tactical Board Game

Doesn't work on Pixel C tablet. Tried support first. Over a week ago. Still no reply. A waste of time, I'm sure. Wanted to like this app. Too bad. Edit: It seems like about a year of owning this game and it still can't be played. On my Pixel C tablet, you can make it through almost one turn before the screen stops updating. If you switch away and back to the app, it is still running and the UI responds, but all it will display is a solid black screen. No reply from support. Ever.

Very poor. We tried several times to play with 3 local players and an ai, pass and play, and we were barely able to play through a turn. Exiting and rejoining helped once, but not the other times. We didnt even make it through one turn. Will be contacting the developer because we have a brand new device (tablet) so this should work.

I'd like my money back please. I have no idea how they manage to get any 5 star reviews when its so unreliable. It's terrible, full of bugs and barely playable. I've played four or five games and only one or two ran without any bugs. The last two games hung completely. They have clearly not tested it properly. It's a total waste of time and even more of a waste of money. No, I just tried again and it hung again. The bugs are just so numerous it's impossible to list them. Unbelivable!

I was wrong in my previous review: you can skip the suggestion about the Google Play account and only enter the Asmodee one. Use the profile tab to search for and add your friends' accounts so they'll show up in the casual game tab. App still has some annoyances. Though the game state must be so comparatively small, it still upwards of 10 seconds to sync on the network. If the sync ever completely fails, it forgets your login entirely and you have to enter name/pass again. Often it'll stick at just a modal "Login" popup and I have to restart. Otherwise the graphics and sound and implementation of the game's mechanics are gorgeous.

A good game marred by terrible and frequent bugs. honestly, i want to love this adaptation, but it needs work. tile laying goes wrong regularly and I've reported game freezes on several occasions that prevent me finishing a game on the last round. game freezes about 1 in 4 games. Devs, also consider allowing people to exit and resume games. otherwise, what on earth is the point in having an "eject" option AND a "surrender" option?

Great game. But have some bugs. i played only with bots so this review about local game mode. 1. 5 phase (build). If i place my tiles and confirm move faster then AI opponents perfoms their moves, then game freezes. The gears(on ai avatars) rotates and do not stop. This bug is easy to repeat, it is strange that it was not fixed. 2. 5 phase (build). Sometimes tiles are duplicated, I can not say that I understand how to repeat this bug.

keeps freezing.. like Emma Pratt, i have an s8 and i have the same problem with the game freezing mid turn or end of turn. It's unfortunate that it consistently and regularly freezes, because the game is great. That being said, when it takes 5 (or sometimes more) games to be able to play 1 straight through, the game doesn't warrant even the 1 star.

The original game is great. I would like this implementation in general, but the UI can freeze easily, and then the whole game is lost. Update: the UI can be sped up in the settings, that would make the game better, but it freezes even more. Decrease stars for the missing fixing efforts.

I admit : I thought this would be a carcassonne knock-off. A good one, because asmodee and digidiced each deliver quality, but still. I as wrong about that first part : this is a game more about bidding correctly than laying tiles. I'm bad at it, but the familiar and fun tile laying give me determination to master that part. So in the end, it exceeded my expectations... Just in a different way than I expected. :-)

Given the game is soo good a pity that Asmodee have not given full consideration for the app. Upon opening the app,about 40% of times it hangs. When this does occur about 33% of times I have to fully log in again. The interface is fairly good when playing an actual game but getting to that place is hard work. Also searching for games... pretty archaic system. Plenty of work to do.2 stars because the music and gameplay itself just saved this from 1 star. 4 bars on 4G and hanging... issue not here

Faithful transition from table top to mobile! Edit: Major downgrade due to how the AI is coded to buy your tiles. I've played about 15 games and if you raise the difficulty at all the AI just always leave you with no tiles every turn even when the other AI players had far better tiles.... basically you are forced to one purchase choice. I've tested this by making my tiles expensive as well. Both gone every time. Easy AI is a joke.

Enjoying this game a lot. Playing ranked at the moment. Finding it pretty slow to get all players taking turns with regularity. My one question is why not auto pass when you have no money to buy tiles. Doesn't make sense to have to wait for player to log in just to click the pass button.

Asked for a refund after attempting to play two games. My partner and I love pass and play games and were surprised that this app wasn't on a list of the best to play after playing the boardgame version last night. I can see why now as we could not complete a game without bugs interfering. Real pity as enjoyed playing it on a board a lot!

Love the game - the app needs fixing. Lots of bugs which mostly comes down to freezing and even game breaking at some points. Didn't manage to play a multiayer game at all because the game just froze up. Solo I can mostly fix it by closing the app and starting it back up again but still annoying.

Isle of Skye is a fantastic board game, and there's the bones of a good app here, but the game-crashing bugs are still far too frequent, especially when it comes to placing tiles. The developers need to put a lot more work into it before I would consider recommending it. Stay away until they are able to hammer out the dents.

The game plays and will except for your purchases. Several times the Ai opponent had a price of 5 for a time but the game would not let me purchase it. All I said get is a message on the top indicating I cannot purchase so I should pass.

If it actually worked this is a lovely board game and the app looks promising. Using an S8, and it crashes/freezes frequently when confirming end of turn, to the point I haven't managed more than a few turns of local player + guest, or local player + AI.

Doesn't work. Installed, started the first time, black screen (even though I could hear the music). Uninstalled and refunded. Will try again in the future if they fix the bugs. Own and love the board game - too bad the app is so buggy.

Great translation from the boardgame. I tend to play solo against AI while riding passenger on long road trips. I get grumpy at how it seems the AI gangs up on you with multiple opponents - but that just makes it more difficult to win. I don't mind too much.

Great game, decently challenging AIs, but I'd estimate 35 percent of the games freeze and I have to abandon them. It seems to happen less often in games with fewer AIs (1-2) and better than half of games with 3+ AIs. I'd rate it 3.5 stars for that, but am rounding up because it is otherwise we'll executed.

Great game. It takes some time to wait for the scoring. The issue it the game keeps crashing. I play against the ai and with 2 or 3 hard ai players the game crashes in round 3 or 4. Very frustrating.

I really enjoy this game but unfortunately there are quite a few bugs that get in the way such as tiles getting stuck and computers just not taking actions. It would also help to have a save game feature.

The game play locally is just like the board game. The online is just like asmodee's ordering system, clunky and full glitches. Cannot access online play with my tablet no matter how much we followed asmodee's instructions. Too bad really. Has so much potential.

Isle of Skye board game is magnificent!! But this mobile expirience is poor. UI is done totally without any effort.. You misclick and You cannot get back to the game again. No labels for the buttons.. "We made it. If You can play we don't care.." AI also. Even the hard setting is too easy.. In the time of AlphaGO you cannot make AI for your game??! Pathetic effort.

Although I am enjoying getting to play one of my favorite games, I just realized that the victory point count is incorrect. I just played a game in which I got zero victory points for the tile that counts 2 VPs per cattle. I got cattle in my clan early on and ended the game with 3 cattle. Upon review of my game score, I did not receive a single victory point for any of my cattle. The fact that I paid anything for this game and it has simple problems like this isn't okay.

There's some occasional bugs, and not being able to pick your color is odd. Still a great version of a great game. Adding in the druid expansion would bump it up to 5 stars for me.

Hot mess of bugs. Always during the tile placement phase. Nothing you can do to stop it, and when it happens the game is unrecoverably locked up. Saving and rebooting not an option. Great game, awful app

I really like the game, but it's incredibly buggy for what it is. Hasn't been updated in almost a year, so it's abandoned. Asmodee, don't be cheap, spend a little more money to fix your games.
