No English and even just following the directions included with the dbpower camera, it still wouldn't show that I was connected to the camera.

It's not in English
CHANGE LANGUAGE TO ENGLISH ON SETTINGS. Look at the directions in the booklet, they show up in English. There is a language button. Select setup and go down to the 6th option. 2 options below where it says TV in english. Then a language indicator will let you switch to English.
