I'm using this on a One+3 with the font size 1 above default. That makes a lot of the text hide behind neighboring boxes. I don't have this problem with any other apps. This thing can be soooo slow. When I first installed it I thought it was abandoned, because nothing happened, it just showed a blank screen, for several minutes.
App is good when it has access to data; but, over a week ago there was nothing showing, and nobody responded to my inquiry to their Twitter account; I just discovered it's got data again. UPDATE: I'm running a WireGuard VPN. Something changed in the interface between the app and its data source (likely an update in their system), which caused access to their data by the app to be blocked. By using split tunneling to exclude this app from VPN coverage, I resolved the data block.
This app is great! It shows a lot of interesting information about whats going on with current power consumption, max capacity, and estimated demand through out the day. The only this that can be annoying is during peak hours, probably when lots of people are using the app, the app seems unable to pull data and says to check your network connection. I assume the CA ISO API being used is being overwhelmed with connections.
Good when it works, but that's not that often. I don't think the iso servers can handle the volume during hot spells, which is precisely when the app is necessary! Takes forever to load, and is sluggish. Tried it on two top of the line phones, with good internet access.
Close, but not yet winning. Several glitches, some may relate to system being overwhelmed, app deficiencies include status lines on main page simply display UNKNOWN. Page to view reports does not display latest report, even when refreshed. Alert icon displays a number that doesn't corollate to the known alerts
Good app with lots of great data. Could explain some terms better (Net Demand) and the app is a little slow but then it's moving a LOT of data. Very useful when demand is very high to get a feel for the risk of rolling black outs.
Nice app but it fails to update lately and generates lots of toast messages stating it couldn't load content, "check your network connection". Took quite some effort to figure out where the toasts were coming from. Had to uninstall the app dues to this.
I have used this app for a very short time but so far, it's very helpful and informative to try to understand what is happening with the management of our power grid and planned power shutdowns. I have recommended it to others.
Version 4.4 frequently crashes and refuses to start. Must stop app, clear cache, and restart. Pixel 5 on Android 12.
Beautiful app. I am so impressed and with expectations far exceeded. I would think California's electricity grid is not exactly on the forefront of laypersons, but this easy-to-read and aesthetic app is a powerful tool for social education and awareness. Good job CA ISO!!
Great info to the phone. The app actually stayed up and current. At the same time the website could not handle the high traffic during this August 2020 heat wave.
Interesting app! Like the graph showing the percentage of renewable sources contributing to filling demand during the different time periods.
it looks the app is half briken now, when clicking on graphs to enlarge them it now gives me the error "Cannot load charts". it worked fine a while back
A really cool, graphically-pleasant app with helpful and interesting information. A must have for those interested in CA's electrical grid and conservation.
Excellent app - refreshes quickly, and the interface (and the data represented in it) is fairly intuitive.
It gives good information, but gets a little buggy at times. Sometimes the app will freeze.
I have tracked Cal ISO since the brown-outs of 2000-2001. I always used a PC. This app works well and provides the same info without me having to go to my PC.
Having these graphs at your fingertips is amazing! Love seeing all the supply sources and how they meet demand.
Very informative and useful. Definitely help to know upto minutes on how close we are to rolling blackout.
No learning curve! Easy to quickly figure out how to use the app. Very nice!!!! And unusual..
Downloaded app to check Calif. electricity conditions and prices during extreme heat wave. Was following grid all day on pc over hrrp. But caiso website stopped serving data 4pm Aug. 18, saying servers busy. 4 pm. Local marginal PRICES in the $1000 range in norcal, $1300 range in Arizona. (Thats $1 to $1.30 per kwh). ALL the steady 24/7 generators are maxed out. DONT Ever expect renewable to also be dependable.
The app is free, there are no ads, it does what it's supposed to, doesn't bother me with useless notifications
Nice responsive app as long as you have a good network connection. No annoying notifications (yet?)
Great app so far, tons of great data and no crashes so far on my pixel 2 XL.
This app offers many useful information. Have been constantly cheking it during the warm periods in California. Thanks.
A great and accurate source of power grid and potential power outage information. Easy to use and will help prepare you for power outages.
Gives a surprising amount of data on grid operations - really enjoy casually opening this app to check how much renewables help the grid.
