iTarget Pro
iTarget Pro allows you to use your cell phone to detect hits from the iTarget laser bullet, showing you exactly where your virtual shots hit the target.
To use the app, you must first agree to the safety precautions. Read and follow these precautions for your safety and those around you.
Adjust the sled so that the image of the target fills the screen of the phone.Better results may be achieved by moving the target further away and using the zoom. Do not allow the camera to see off the edge of the target.
Use two fingers to scale the red scoring overlay and drag it over the imageof the target. If your scoring is off, this is where the adjustment is made.
If the target image is not circular, you may need to toggle through the different aspect choices to get a circular target image.
Go to settings to adjust the sensitivity. Different lighting conditions require different sensitivity adjustments.Adjust the sensitivity until the target area is black. Test with the laser to see how the app responds.
Pressing thumbs up will start the practice session. If the app registers false hits, lower the sensitivity andmake sure the camera is not seeing off the target. If the app doesn’t register the hits, raise the sensitivity.Changing the lighting conditions in the practice area may require a change in the sensitivity adjustment.When done practicing, you can save the target image by pressing thumbs up and the download button.

Okay, but falls well short of expectations. Difficult to find the right settings and environment. Any light source in front of phone will cause a barrage of false hits. Quite expensive for what you get, paying for extra "game" modes is rather annoying. All that being said, once you do find a good environment and the right lighting it is useful and fun.
Getting the lighting correct is kind of a pain. It will be registering shots just fine and then just register something clearly off the wall. You can clearly see where the laser hits the target but it doesnt always register it correctly and sometimes far off the mark. Tried fooling with different settings but nothing seem to do the trick 100% of the time. Im using a galaxy note 8. Great concept but poorly executed in the app. Please update this so I can continue to use your product!
Zero stars overall. I am totally disappointed with this product and app. I saw it was made in China. It was a Christmas gift. The packaging was very disappointing and I had to cut though the laminated safety instructions to get to the laser bullet and batteries. There was no case for the bullet supplied for storing after using with the stand. The whole setup needed a case. Ended up putting the extra batteries and laser bullet in a ziploc. The targeting was terrible and the app very glitchy.
The laser bullet is awesome. The incorporated app, it could use some work, considering I just paid for it and it doesn't really work all that great. It'll tell me I got a 7, 8 or 9 when i clearly hit the bullseye, even inches away. Besides that, I'm not sure if it's the app, or my phone but it occasionally screws up and I have to clear the data and "reset" the app, as it won't allow me to access the training options because my camera isn't compatible or it is locked. tried many times. app would not work. keeps stating camera locked, when it's not. Very frustrating.After a few contacts via email, which the developer did respond quickly.Appreciated, that we were able to finally get the proper software. It's just a shame that you have to go this route with and android phone. However, once you get to the proper site the system works well. It is a great way to practice, saving money on ammo, and time. Well pleased with this novel system. Developer does reply to emails quickly. Very satisfied with the assistance, and the iT pro.
If only I could give it zero stars and still leave a review. The new app is awful. Rapid fire even though I had already put away my laser bullet. It took numerous times to finally get it to work so I could practice. I told my friends at work about the system. When I tried to give a demo the app didn't work. More rapid fire. Couldn't get the screen to clear to try to start over. So embarrassed. Bring back the old app. It worked just fine and was intuitive.
Works as intended, and is a generally useful tool. For future revisions, I'd move the distance zoom bar to the top of the screen, since it's so close to the bottom that the tripod always seems to be in the way. Even in the middle of the screen would be better. I'd also display each individual shot score longer. With your eyes on the target, the score doesn't display long enough to see it. If there is a way to speed up the sound, that would be useful as well.
I am unable to use this app version. As soon as I activate the shooting area, it starts registering shots. Once I found lighting that didn't auto-shoot, the app did not register the laser. The last app worked great compared to this one. After buying 3 of these items, I feel ripped off. My suggestion is to revert to the old app until you fix this issue. If this doesn't get fix very soon, I will be requesting a refund.
My GF bought this for me in Dec for Christmas and it worked great. Haven't used it in a while and got a new phone. Now I cannot get it to work. Screen is completely different. Cannot set up the target. It just keeps going off without even shooting. Don't get thr screen to choose Bulls Eye or Quick draw like before and does not have the target match up like the old screen. Everything is different. Very disappointed.
Samsung S9 plus. The app does not read some shots accurately even after I recalibrated and tried all aspect ratios. Always shows a stray shot at top left corner of the paper for some reason. No...its not my shooting. I've also experimented with different levels of light in the room I'm using the itarget in. Still not reading accurately on some shots. I'd say that it's off significantly about 1 out of every 3 to 5 shots. Useful tool, but too expensive because of this.
When I first got the app it was great. And having used many other laser training apps, I can for sure say this one was the best, but after these updates it just doesn't work anymore. Other apps work just fine, but this one doesn't. I've mess with the sensitivity for a long time on multiple sessions trying to get it to cooperate and it just won't. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, still, this app does not work!
I read the reviews and was hesitant to upgrade to the new version. I downloaded it to another phone (identical to mine) to try it out without losing the original version on my phone. With the cost of ammo I didn't want to lose any shooting time because of an unstable app. I had no problem with the new version and have since upgraded my phone to the new version also. I do like the added features and functionality.
I loved the old app. It was easy to setup and it registered your shots. Somehow the new app automatically updated to my phone, the 2.0 version, and this app is more difficult to setup and it does not register your shots consistently. I am very disappointed and I wish I could get the old app back on my phone. So sad!
This is a great app for improving your dry fire practice. I would like to rate it a 5 star, but there are some issues that i encountered. I have an LG G7 phone. The app on google play is not compatible with the G7 for some reason. This is where the staff at ITarget excel. i contacted them with a description of the problem and a screen shot of the error message. Within an hour, Joe contacted me with a solution. He sent me a link for an apk that was to be downloaded. It took some work to get it downloaded (using Firefox instead of Chrome). Once i made that change, it installed flawlessly. THANKS JOE!
New version virtually unuseable. I wish I hadn't upgraded. The previous version worked. It's embarrassing that y'all let this go public in this state. Where is the zoom control? Should be a slider bar. Not random rubber-banding pinch zoom that only semi works on auto target detect. Why does the zoom reset when I change a setting? Where's the sensitivity slider bar? Medium is full auto fliers in the corners, low doesn't pick up the laser.
This app used to work fine until the update. Now whenever I open app shots are fired and not even doing anything. Also when I close the app I can hear the sound from shots still counting. I tried adjusting settings several times and have to force close app. I was really considering purchasing the other targets but I'm glad I didn't now. A whole bunch of wasted time trying to get this to work smh. Uninstalling
The old app was simple and great. 5 star. This updated version improved being able to view split times. Other than that improvement it is terrible. I had also purchased the quick draw app previously which was awesome, however, since the update it says I need to purchase this again. I'm looking for a different app to use and suggest you do the same.
Wow, this has to be the most frustrating thing ever. Auto target doesn't work, manual doesn't work, it just doesn't work. And when you're lucky enough to get it to register a shot, it's not even close to where the laser hit. I followed all the directions about lighting and sensitivity but nothing... I'm hoping they can fix this, if so I'll update the review
Google is slowly rolling out the updated app. Got the link directly from itarget after an email inquiry. The updated app works perfectly for me. I love it! Pro tip: the new app is much more sensitive to glare on the target and will register it as a shot. Make sure there is no glare visible thru the phone. That could also prevent the app from registering the laser shot. My itarget was delivered yesterday and has already paid for itself in ammo savings. I LOVE IT!
App does not work on my Nokia android phone. I do not get any shots recorded unless "Ballistic Offset" is on. Without this no shots are displayed. I downloaded (for $4.95) the quickdraw option. When using it I never get a start tone. Regardless of mode I never get shot times or placement. Directions that came with the sled are pretty useless. Don't explain much. Emailed the company for help. Not much.
Love it !It has helped my trigger control.Nice that you can use it indoors and not be rushed at the range because of time .allowance.Just two small problems,1. the phone holder moves when trying to scale the target,2. also no sound of the shot anymore..One question: When are you coming out with "High Score" ?
I debug sofware for a living, and this is one really annoying app. Let me adjust my camera zoom instead of the base. Let me hit the X when I remove from my phone from the target instead of locking me out. Auto features unreliable. UI bugs. Unresponsive at times. Crashes. Does do a decent job of detecting shot placement when you get the stars aligned, if it doesn't count it as multiple shots (probably needs even more calibration). Made in China. Would not have bought had I known that.
