This was excellent, shame it's been discontinued. Ixquick was a much better name than Startpage.

Good browser hope they are keeping there word about privacy. Used goggle for a long time and they tracked me way to much. When I was going through the settings seen it had everyplace I visited the last two years. Didn't realized they were doing that. After all these years using goggle I wouldn't go through and check some changes and they got me. Shouldn't have to check your whole browser settings after every update. But big bother has no right in what I'm looking at F-them.
StartPage and IxQuick are from Google Commerce Ltd! How does this fit the privacy claims? Remember we have no way of being SURE our data isn't stored. Can't see any difference between IxQuick and StartPage except that IxQuick is six times bigger. In use they seem identical. Neither lets you specify, say, image search before you hit Search; you must wait for the default web results first, wasting time (my wifi is slow) or data. You can't scroll from viewing an image to see the next without going back to the results page. No option to block ads, and from my brief try, the ads related to the search which surely contradicts the privacy claims. So it isn't great as a search app, but even if it were, why would anyone concerned about privacy trust anything out of the Google stable?

What a extraordinarily beneficial service you provide for free. After over a decade of " the thug Google" I disabled chrome, that initiated my search which lead to you. You allowed me to acquire true privacy and cyber protection.Thank you.
Had this browser years ago on my desktop and it's always been great. Will continue to use it regularly. Now that there is an app built for us, I'm gonna use it exclusively. Keep the noisy, data stealing, other browsers at bay!
Browser screen had large bar at the top large ix bar at the bottom and a the Google /Facebook /Twitter bar on top of that it was like trying to type through a letterbox, uninstalling!
This app does exactly what it tells you. None of the additional Bu----hit provided by other well known search engines
Not only a very good search engine it is private. This is why there are no junk ads along results.
Accurate and relevant results. Most search engines provide endless pages of irrelevant dross, Ixquick provides real results. And better yet, no tsunamis of linked advertising. Thank you Ixquick.

Been using iX and Startpage search for years. No complaints. Simple app, just works well.
Garbage, con not use this app what you do most of the time like banking, emailing Facebook Instagram just total garbage safe of time!!!! Going back to dolphine browser!!!

I knew ixquick from long ago, a Dutch company. They (had) a perfect search program for searching for people. It was the best I have ever seen. Was perfect for finding long lost family members and searching for my family tree. Used the search program also back then too. It was goed and private back then too. Earl Specht, ENG. Philips NL
