I was first surprised such an amazing game gets so little love. But then after buying it (on sale thankfully) and after failing to download about 3 times. I finally started it, only for it to get stuck on opening screen, and after doing a bit of research, it simply doesn't work with oreo, and devs have no idea how to fix it, and i really don't think they actually plan to either... Yay
Game does not launch on my Samsung Note 9. Freezes my phone on the title screen. Will re-evaluated when/if fixed. Edit: Just realized that developer knows about issue and appears to not be working on a fix. Very disappointed and I will not be purchasing from them again. To make matters worse default view on reviews was set to most useful which for some reason doesn't include any recent reviews from 2018 showing the issues launching.
Is exactly like the original with little issues (texture glitch in an abandoned tavern) with the port... was excited to transfer save from old phone to much newer phone but it appears it's one of the galaxies that has instability issues and such. Love the game, would definitely recommend.
It's been quite some time since I've been able to play Jade Empire on Android, and it's beginning to look like I never will again. The sad thing is, I wouldn't even want a refund, I simply want to be able to play through this game. If Aspyr truly doesn't intend to update JE or address modern Android compatibility issues, I really wish they'd do the somewhat honorable thing and hand off the development to a team/other company with the time, resources, and capability to deliver a working version.
This is my favorite game and when it came was ported to Android and IOS, I was like a kid in a candy shop. With my new phone, Samsung Galexy S8 Active, I cannot get past the loading screen. If the game would work, it would easily be a 5 star, I played through it multiple times before on my old phone.
Worth every penny. jade empire is one of my favorite games of all time. i love this game 100% i thought i would never play this game again but I was wrong it's here and it's exactly like the pc/xbox version. it's been ported perfectly. aspyr media you have most sincere thanks. thanks to you i can finally play one of my favorite games again. amazing story, characters, setting and music.
2 stars since I can't actually play it. It won't load any of the game past the initial boot screen, it freezes until it force closes itself. This is one of my favorite games and I've played it on my S7 so idk why my S9 won't play it.
Well I played this on the Xbox but I downloaded it on my Samsung tablet and it was very laggy so I uninstalled it but I just installed it again on my phone which is a Moto Z2 and now it just won't get past the title screen, if someone could tell me how to fix this issue or assist in any way I will change my rating
It is an absolute travesty that there appears to be no work happening to get this game up and running on Oreo. Luckily for me I still have an older device and may still be able to make use of it. The fact remains that until this issue is resolved this developer deserves a 1 star rating.
I bought this game when it first came out on play store! It worked fine and then I had to get a new tablet, same model, and then I couldn't find the app by searching and then I find the app in my library. Install it on my new tablet. It's been a year, because I haven't really had time to play games on this tablet. And now the game doesn't get past the boot screen
Totally incompatible with modern devices. Unplayable. Devs have stated they have no intention of fixing this. This game should be delisted. $10 for an unplayable 4 GB download is absurd. Going forward, won't support the company that ported this because they do not stand behind their products.
look, i paid $9.99 for a game. now, it seems its been removed from google play. if thats the case, then i deserve a refund. if the game that i paid for, to own, and have. is now unavailable, then the money i put in to own it, needs to be given back.
Really sad they won't fix this it is truly an amazing game and a wonderful example of Chinese mythology. If you really want to play it I strongly suggest getting it off "GOG" it's drm free DO NOT get it off steam it runs like garbage and is basically unplayable.
Doesn't work on newer android devices 😡. I wish they'd fix it but they obviously won't . Didn't work on my galaxy s7 or my galaxy A8 2018 edition, worked on the galaxy s5 which is old as hell in smartphone years with multiple new releases every year
Doesn't work under Oreo, and since I've owned the game more than a year, apparently they can't offer a refund. Paid $10, haven't played it much, and unless they fix their broken app, guess I'll never play again. What a waste of time and money.
Haven't been able to play it. I am very dissapointed. It's a complete waste of my money. It stopped working years ago. I recently got a new Samsung ans decided to reinstall and try it again and the game still doesn't work.
Needs the controls fixed. Isnt playable as it is for me. I am using a tab a 8" SMT-380. Edit:2/14/20 on my SMT-510 it goes to loading screen and sits there, doesn't run at all. I opened up app information, granted all permissions manually and it still doesn't work.
Great game when I played on my Note 5. Now that I bought a Note 9 it is unplayable. The game sits at the title screen. Please fix it. Can't believe I payed for a game that isn't updated.
Does not work on newer phones, upgraded to the galaxy note s10 and it does not work, turns out this is a known issue and their is no intention of fixing it.
IF YOU CANT PLAY ON YOUR NEWER DEVICE READ THIS. (FIX) Excellent port. The one issue i have is just like everyone else, NO SUPPORT. That bein said guys the fix is simple: If your using a new er device just download an update or APK. There are tons of fan-made updates made because of this issue that are perfectly safe . Just make sure to research the site your on.
I paid money for this and now it is not even available to download on older devices. They not only stopped updating JE but they made it impossible to have again. We deserve a refund but the cash grab is all this app was good for.
The game is stuck on the loading screen in Oreo. The developers know about this issue, as it's a FAQ on their website. No plans to resolve it. Very disappointing. Don't buy.
Beautiful wonderful game that really gives you a feel for another world and you get to know and love the characters. I just wish it lasted longer because now that I have clocked it I want to experience it all again
I can't even get past the loading screen it just sits there saying jade empire special edition.I have reinstalled the app 4 times and nothing changed I feel like I was taken for my money. By the way I have a galaxy 9s+ so it's not the phone
Do not purchase this! It simply doesn't work. I have never been able to get past the splash screen on any of my devices. Shameless ripoff.
Game was playable on my Galaxy Note 5. Unfortunately it won't load past the logo on my new phone, One Plus 6 running Android 9 / Pie. I hope the developer address this issue as I really liked the game.
Like everyone says. Doesn't work anymore and zero support. Big disappointment after paying for it. They have a note in description on how to get a refund from them, but no success for me or others as far as I know.
Galaxy Note 9 here... game won't load and won't play... compete waste of time. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, makes no difference. They just stole 10 bucks from me, and no way to get it back. Nothing but a bunch of cheap, immoral thieves. BUYER BEWARE!! Do not purchase this game unless you have money to flush down the toilet.
Well I purchased this game back when it first became available and it worked fine on my galaxy S5, and S6. However recently I had to upgrade to a galaxy S8, and after having to do a factory reset on that model. And when I recently tried to start up and run the game, it locked up in either the start screen or just a blank screen. After having uninstalled it and then reinstalled it twice to try and fix it, nothing has changed. So I guess a refund is in order, when I contact the developers.
