1/15/21: . Update: stopped working again in late fall after Android o/s was updated. Why isn't the software developer aware of this. Just look at the other recent reviews, same issue; app crashes when opened. Jaguar, is this how a "luxury car" is supposed to be????? 5/25/20 Now it works fine, like it did originally. There was an update earlier in May, but never bothered trying, as the rest of the world was broken earlier in the month. Would have given 5 stars, but it took too long to fix
Tried to set an exact destination to my sister's house in Bidford on Avon. Every time I tried to set as destination it returns a message saying that 'There is no route that includes those waypoints. Please try again' . It will be easier for me to set in the car's Sat Nav. So much for forward planning. Frustrating as hell.
Stopped working after upgrade to Android 10. All searches now return "no results found" which is not helpful for a route planner. App hasn't been updated in ages. Used to work, if a bit clunky, but still far easier to search using another app and just type the postcode into the car.
Updated review after Android 11 update..... The app is still useless, won't load, buy a different car with some decent software developers. New version is still useless, says you arrived as soon as you set a destination, don't they do any testing?? Absolute junk! Doesn't work on Android 10, it is in desperate need of a revamp! Not what you expect from Jaguar. The total lack of support / news from Jaguar makes me think that heading back to BMW is the only option.
Refuses to allow me to login after installation. If I quit and try again later, my phone goes blank and I have to use the home button to get out of it. Unable to use any functions of the app, so can't tell if it's really as bad as the reviews say it is. Not worth keeping it on my phone. Time to uninstall. If I could give this app zero stars I would.
It's working again. Android auto is nice, but i prefer the in-car navigation while driving. This app allows you to plan your trip over a cup of coffee and it syncs directly with the car, taking away the hassle of planning it in the car when you actual want to be on your way.
Worked for a short while and now it doesnt find any destination or address I typed in. Its become pretty much useless. The concept is good, but the execution and development for such a high end vehicle is terrible. I've complained to Jaguar about this on their surveys. Three different apps for the same car!!! Jaguar Land Rover desperately needs some new developers!!!
UPDATE UPDATE. My phone has just been updated to android 11. App will not open at all now! It starts then just closes. Useless really. Shame as it is really useful when it worked. OLD REVIEW. Have just installed latest update and opened it. Found my car in seconds. All my information is back ie recent, home favourite etc. IT WORKS! Would be 5 stars if we could exit the app not just leave it. Maybe next update Jaguar. 😉 ORIGINAL Not working! App was great until the update.
Absolutely useless, every time I set a destination and press start guidance the app returns a message saying, “you’ve arrived” and I have not even taken a step towards the car. Before the update, the app was very temperamental and only worked 50% of the time if at all. For a so call prestige car company Jaguar’s app’s and general media software lets them down badly and will destroy their name. In this age of reliance on media/phone app’s and always on availability, these issues need to be resolved.
Jaguar XF S, Moto G5. App V1.3.49. Fiddly to use. Setting up waypoints can be a gamble (get 1 wrong with a fat finger and I've found no way to just delete the last entry, you have to start again). There is no way to force the App to find your car. Returning from Italy in the summer, the Jaguar Route Planning app was telling me my car was still parked 779 miles away, though the Jaguar Remote app knew it was really parked outside my front door. I had to use the app to plan a journey from my house to a nearby supermarket and use the vehicle satnav to go there and back before the Route Planner found where I was really parked. Amusingly the journey details in the app said something like "Walk to car - 13 days 10 hours" The app hasn't been updated in over a year, and really needs one.
Not worth the bother of downloading. Like many others my car has 'been' several miles away for weeks although I can see it in my garage. If I program in a destination I am first guided to walk to a place I once parked. Useless.
In the last month this app is transfixed to a parking position the car was at 139 miles from home 1 month ago & so route planning always goes via this previous parking position unless I further edit the route & remove this false way point. This operation is very frustrating & sometime the app will not even manage to create a route!!
Useless since android 10, no contact with the car, can't find destinations. This is unacceptable for such a high end vehicle. Jaguar need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel and allow their cars to use the many excellent android apps out there.
It's not even worse for one star, you pay over 50k for a car and you have to install 3 apps for it?! The worse thing is the route planner, it's not even works with android 10, very disappointing, there is always small things which makes a brand look bad. Please get some serious software developers to sort this out, its embarrassing....
Update: This app was last updated in 2017 and despite abysmal reviews JLR has made no attempt to update/fix it. App continues to be useless as it won't even open so am uninstalling. Will just use the browser version. Used to work ok on my Galaxy S9+ but now won't even open. App crashes as soon as I try to open it. I'm now using the browser version which seems to be working (so far).
Desperately in need of an update to include all charging stations as a POI type (with filtering options) - as my I-Pace's in-built nav now does. Petrol stations are of no interest to me, so let me remove them! Also needs ability to plan multi-leg journeys (waypoints). Please add these things in next release and get more ****
Finally after almost a year, app was made compatible with Android 10. Still has an old look and feel and could be more user-friendly, but at least now it gets the basic job done.
There is no option to register first , just asks for email & password, then promptly rejects as invalid. When you select password reset it doesn't send any email. Absolutely ridiculous. wasn't expecting this from Jaguar.
If you follow the instructions it works really well. Especially like the journey planner synchronisation feature. If its not synching with your vehicle on the app check you are still logged on in the vehicle.
Worst app experience ever! The only value this so provides is the nicely animated Jaguar logo on startup. After that it doesn't find my car. it doesn't find any of the addresses I want to use. Completely worthless!
Worthless. As many others have said, why do I need so many apps? I have an $80,000 vehicle that has the tech of a 2008 Toyota. The route planner isn't a route planner if you can't plan routes. Why do I always have to start a trip by walking to my car? Why does it not know which state my car is parked in? Why can't I adjust the route manually to take a different interstate since JLR insists we drive an extra hour and 40 miles out of the way to go through Philly when we drive from Ohio back to NY?
Used app once, very successfully. But now the app is convinced that my vehicle is 159 miles away and refuses to plan any route by car starting anywhere else! I even tried uninstall/reinstall but the car is still 159 miles away. So app is now useless.
used to work ok on S8, but on S10+ will not open. still working ok on my tablet, so logins are ok. please fix for S10+ Update: 6 months after leaving this review, the App still does not work. Very disappointed in the response. Update: one year on and no improvement. Do they even care?
It worked at the beginning but no longer. Can't communicate with the car, says it needs internet access. This app has been abandoned by the brand. Appalling.
Doesn't work with Android 10 Wasn't the greatest app, but the whole series have been a disappointment quote frankly. But now since my phone (Samsung Note10+) got upgraded to Android 10 it loads but won't search (always shows no results) or even find my car? Rubbish
Jaguar Route Planner is a very good app and I regularly use it to send destinations to my car. The process is simple and the GUI is excellent. The only major fault with Route Planner is its limited points of interest (POI) database. Recently I searched the app for a local high school and a restaurant both of which have existed for many years but neither were in the database. Update please, Jaguar. Thanks.
