JANAM TV : The vernacular visual media in Kerala has seen a boom of sorts during the last two decades. From the eighties when Doordarshan Malayalam was the lone player and the nineties when the arrival of first Malayalam private channel opened up a whole new world to the television viewers, today the Malayalam television industry has virtually come of age. Like any other sunrise industry, there is a flurry of activity and excitement all around, with new entrants trying hard to position and make themselves relevant in the crowded scene. This is not without reason. High Literacy rates and elevated socio-political awareness across all sections of society ensures more penetration by visual media in the years to come. Malayalam channels have an added advantage with Overseas market esp. the Middle East. Moreover the presence of non resident Keralites are growing elsewhere too. Thus it can be safely assumed that the next couple of decades will be an era of an accelerated upward swing for Malayalam TV industry.
Social relevance of JANAM: The relevance of JANAM stems from the fact that all the existing channels in Malayalam have either fixed long term agendas or tend to cater to the needs, aspirations and ‘hype’ created by the current socio-political cauldron in the state. The present media houses in the state, including channels, are being run by organized sections of the society that include political parties and influential families. They exclude the silent majority who has neither organized strength to bargain nor to raise voice even for justifiable social causes in Kerala. On the other hand, the social fabric of Kerala is fast changing where economic superiority of organized groups is now followed by efforts to dominate cultural, social and intellectual spheres as well. Anti-national forces, often backed by foreign funds are also viewing Kerala as their safest haven today. Well coordinated designs by such forces to reinvent our cultural ethos and restructure the social chemistry in the state will have disastrous consequences, if not checked immediately. Powerful tools like JANAM will definitely give impetus to nationalist forces in efforts to resist such grand designs, especially at a time when the eternal values that has defined our social fabric are under threat. JANAM, through its programs, will be the voice of the ‘Silent Majority’ and bring about enormous and collective changes in the modern society.
Brand positioning of the Channel : In a nutshell, the new channel will have the right blend of right programs. It will be marketable and commercially viable on one hand, espouse and defend the true socio-cultural values of our age-old tradition on the other. However, while positioning the channel, we will take the socio-political realities of Kerala and place ourselves in the mainstream to avoid being marginalized as the political mouthpiece of any particular segment or political party.
Conclusion : Launching a television channel is a very complex task that needs multi-specialty expertise. There are five major components that make the pillars of success and stability for any new channel
- Technical Quality, Good Infrastructure, Strong and aggressive marketing, well packaged Content that appeals to the viewer and a Strong Distribution tie up. All these components need to go hand in hand and progress simultaneously to make the project a success. Understanding this complexity, Team JANAM is treading its path carefully. The only channel in Malayalam which shows the facts and true happenings. Only channel out of 41 channels which is worthwhile to watch. After an update in my phone I am not able to get connected. whenever I try to connect a message comes "network error..." please check so that I can still enjoy viewing live TV again.
The ads in this app are a nightmare to handle. Can't seem to watch a programme without a pile of ads cluttering the window. The developers give more importance to ads than programmes. People have no need for an app that displays only ads. Should have zero star rating intead of 1.
The app is ok..The first time I installed this application,i have noticed that the advertisements were less.but now while I open the app, ad starts and cannot be skipped within 30 seconds..Hope you reduce the time to skip the ads.or reduce the ads on the app please..
Very much disappointed with the performance of the application for a channel which I prefer to match the most. The channel broadcast is not streaming at all.
Very simple interface, easy to use. Loved the contents of the news feed. Was a refereshing change from the so called secular other news channels. Love to see this channel grow to greater heights. All the best.
This a simple app which works as intended. It will be great if chromecast ability is added too. The channel itself is great and one of the only Malayalam channels that is brave enough to show the truth. The rest of the channels like Asianet and mathrubhumi etc are sold out and biased. Thanks to janam for bringing us the truth.
At present this is one and only channel who gives exact updates and news. Best eg:- sabarimala issue. No other channel are telecasting it. Other channels only telecast the news in favour of some political parties. But this one is different. Trustworthy..👍
Good work Janam for introducing this live app.. Again this app needs modification like adding the video quality option anyway time-being it's good. Thanks for showing up genuine news on Sabarimala where other media channels fails to do....
A very good channel. It is the only news channel that provide sincere and genuine news... Janam tv now achieve high rating only because of their sincerity and honesty. It is a highly recommended channel. Good presentation and excellent language.
I'm unable to use this app now. Getting network server error. I uninstalled the app and re installed again.I tried in switching both wifi and mobile data network. Same problem. Kindly help.
The only news channel that brings out the truth and uninterrupted news. The channel exceptional to have a backbone as compared to other useless one. I respect that.

Till today I never vote for any app. It's ending here. This is the best channel I have seen. Hardworking, Sensitive reporting, very attractive detailed presentation. An extra ordinary channel.

Good Malayalam Channel. Presenting in bold way. Recently launched and trying to improve regularly. Its been tried to portrait as not good since channel does not have age old background.
Unbiased news. Have one suggestion. When minimised to backgrounds, system showing high power consumption. Please rectify this problem.

Now a days I feel pity on other TV channels, that the enormity being showed by them, is ridiculous & pathetic. Instead, the Janam TV has shown sincere approach on covering the original news in fact, especially on Sabarimala topic. Just a single click I can watch live janam channel. Eairler I was use jio TV for watching news and program . But janam live the loading speed and time take to streaming is really fast compare to others.The broadcast is also good. I really like it.

All of the other medias are supporting only the government. But you people are awesome for reporting the orginal news broad casting. Keep it up.
I prefered to watch Janam TV than any other channel for its authenticity. But the mobile application is not functioning properly even in broadband wifi. Sound quality is very poor
The app is really working.. The amazing part is when we open the app it directly opens the live news tv. No complications.. A big thanks to JANAM TV. Onemore thing is we dont need a 4g or a 3g connection to stream. It works well with poor connections too. Thank you guys once again.
