for the premade cards needs to add HIRAGANA /ROMANJI readings + details of word type like is this word a Noun, Adjective, Adverb etc…

The Kanji alphabet is to complex!! I can only review words wich kanji I already know! Would be extremely useful if the hiragana for the kanji reading was available! That way we can learn as well as review! But it's really good otherwise

Need to have option to read in kana not kanji as learning kanji is a massive thing to do and i want to learn how to speak language first. So having option of reading in kana would better

It is a great app. Can you please provide us with the hiragana of the kanji when we flip the card? I already gave you 5 stars but I wish you modify it a bit. Thank you.

translated words must be in romaji.

I love the app, it has so many useful things in it, memory games that help you remember. But, the problem is, as a starter you can not understand most of the text, there is a lot of kanji and most of the times no kana or roomaji transalitions, meaning you can not know how to read them, but those that are wrote in katakana or hiragana are good, it is a very large dictionary in your pocket. For someone learning the very basics it does provide a lot of useful recources. But the usage of kanji does take outalot

Having to press save numerous times to create a card set is tedious. Why can't you save words into a list by default is beyond wonder. If you're a college student this isn't for you. If you happen to live in Japan and want to consolidate the words you learned off the street that day so you can practice them later, forget it. The only way to create a custom word list is to create the entire flash card. Why can't I search for a word in the app and add it to a custom list? Why is that so hard? Why isn't this the first thing this app or any other of the language apps do? Total failure!

About to start a Japanese 101 course. This app is helping me get an edge before class even starts. Used this in combination with Dr. Moku app to really help memorize hiragana and katakana.

It is a good way to study especially when you can hear the words being said.

some good content but takes several seconds to start playing audio, and even longer to react to your swipe to answer the question. Many of the pictures are poorly chosen and quite ambiguous, since that's the only answer given, you're left wondering what the word means. Frustratingly close to being a good app.

Difficult to deal with

I'm a Kanji dodger and just want to learn in hiragana, katakana & romaji. Problem is that the app won't allow you to turn Kanji off. You could have at least had a furigana option.

1. Doesn't teach Kanji or Kana 2. Settings very limited

Easy to use and gives you many ways to learn japanese without having to use much effort.

I would give it 5 stars if it would let me upgrade to the premium version. But that upgrade process is broken because the app apparently uses an old Google API or process. If they can't even update to let people pay, I have my doubt on their continuous effort to keep paying customers happy.

Great Idea poorly done. Just flash cards. No teaching, no Hiragana to help with pronunciation, and finally when I was asked to Log In - the app treats you like a suspicious character, when I have not even had a chance to register. Boo hiss, translate that!

Bla. O. Mar 13, 2015

Kanji is useless for beginners. If there was a kana or romaji toggle mode, it'd be much better.

A. G. u. Jul 18, 2012

It is really helpful, cant wait for the next chapter
