Had a free trial and actually considered going with annual subscription. However, I was turned off by the fact that the app wouldn't play when I was streaming via 4G LTE on Moto g4 plus. All worked on WiFi though. Well they were never able to figure it out, but I now have a different phone running Android 10. No issues with this phone and I'm loving the music selections! I'm an annual subscriber and it's well worth it!
Even in its free version, the app is so good compared to others that I've tried before. Paid version seems to be better than the free one, but mainly because it won't be interrupted by announces. You can also change the quality level of the audios, but a most important aspect to me is to be able to access my favorite jazz standards and hear some new stuff that I hadn't heard yet. I love Jazz Radio App, for sure.
Been using this app for quite some time. I enjoy the big variety of channels suitable for every mood. It is great that it works without problems in background, you can change the qualtiy of audio based on your internet plan and their commercial interruptions if you use a free app are really well measured and not pushy. I would suggest installing RadioTunes as well, and with those two apps to cover all genres, you wont need anything else. Ever.
This was one of my favourite apps.. and I was planning to buy the premium version. But.... probably after the last release, it stopped connecting via wifi (and my wifi is the one of the most reliable fast speed in North America and works with all my others apps and devices without a glitch)...I suspect it's because the adds but in any case it is enough for me to look elsewhere. Have tried it all... uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned cashe nothing works... it's stuck on buffering.
Revising my prior 3 star rating to 5 stars. No issues with the app crashing, which was a problem in the past. Jazz Radio has awesome variety, and I have 10 channels saved as favorites. Fidelity is surprisingly good, especially at the 320K MP3 setting. It would be great if FLAC playback was also available, but doubtful the improvement in fidelity over 320K would be noticeable...not to me, using my modest audiophile system. Jazz Radio paid subscribers also get access to other music services, such as Rock Radio and Radio Tunes, which are included at no additional charge. Jazz Radio is a great value, and I enjoy it every day. Currently playing on the Mellow Jazz channel as I write this review: Bill Evans Trio - Come Rain or Come Shine.
"Please watch ad to continue listening." Um, I'm driving. I get the need for ads, and I'll deal with them between songs, but to have a required video ad isn't a very good idea. Otherwise, I do enjoy access to these jazz stations. Edit: My complaint was specifically about *video* ads appearing while I'm driving, not ads in general. But the dev's response was so darn polite that I feel like bumping my rating up a star.
Love the style options & the app in general! I wish the free version ads were a little more subtle, but, understandably, of course it's normal to want to influence customers over to the premium version. I used to have the premium and it was awesome - I just travel too much now and can't access the app for months and so it wasn't practical for me to pay for premium anymore. Thanks for a great app!
Music bliss. Any mood catered for. Love it. .........this app for me is vital these days of Covid; it helps me forget the stress of lockdowns etc . Just keep on pumping out good music please. A year later after the above first review I still tune in daily to Jazz Radio. I have a severe illness but the station content distracts me from it in a positive way. The variation of choice of genres matches any mood 24 hours a day. I am never bored as updates to channels help keep my interest going.
Nice app. Even with the free version you have access to 4 or 5 stations, with commercials, but the commercials aren't excessive at all. Nothing at all like traditional radio. I like the Jazz Hop station and I've discovered a lot of new artists. It is great to play in the background while reading email or doing whatever and would be nice for small social gatherings. The subscription isn't too pricey at all and if you really like jazz is probably well worth it.
Great music, app keeps crashing on my Note 9, have to keep clearing cache and uninstall then reinstall. Frustrating!!! Not worth it even for free. UPDATE: Decided to give it another try. App is working great no more crashes, or other irritating issues. Absolutely great music, large variety, something for everyone. Thanks
It's an amazing offering, exceptional selection of pieces and I like the array of music. You must just work on the payment system so that everything should not work on a credit card but you may consider telco platforms as a means of payment because in these economic downturn these banks, in South Africa, deprive us of the use of credit cards thus affecting the ability to convert into premium. I must say I'm extremely impressed by work, keep it up.
I wondered if this app would be worth the premium price. I have been using it during the trial and had the opportunity to also contact support. I am very pleased with the app and with the support. Well worth the money. Especially as you can use their other apps on the same subscription. Highly recommend.
All the apps are excellent and are a pleasure to use. Thank you. But I suffer of signal loss in the middle of my commute and would appreciate you a lot if you buffered/preloaded more songs in preparation for events like a temporary loss of internet service.
Great music I wouldn't have known about otherwise! (May, 2020) They just asked me for another review, which I'm happy to provide - I love this app. Especially during these strange and dire times, it has provided so much wonderful new music and - irreplaceably - a sense of community with a shared sensibility. (January, 2022)
I am using this app for free. Very good jazz music. When I leave the house, I turn on this app so that my pet doesn't feel lonely, well to make it calm. But it always stopped by itself in the middle or sometimes it stopped bcoz we have to view an ad to continue listening. I understand this bcoz I am using this ap for free. Anyway. I recommend this app. Very good jazz radio app
I'm quite sure why I upgraded to premium. It took me a while though. The variety of jazz music, its unpredictability give me immeasurable listening experience. The sound at 320kbps is actually good. It competes well with the ripped CDs I have collected over the years. There is no need for AB testing. The flacs should be it. One caveat: pair your phone with a latest BT device and you will enjoy the music.
