JB WiFi Tether

Im not saying this app does not work, just did not work on my device. The device rom does not support tethering and carrier (sprint) blocks tethering from being enabled. This is truly a pain to add a feature that was not supported from start. Even a rooted device does not have the capabilities to make this change. Another feature that sprint takes away from users. Was worth a shot though, if it was successful, It would have been outstanding. Kyocera Hydro 4.0.4 (rooted)

I upgraded my rooted HTC EVO 4G LTE to Android 4.3 not knowing that there is no support for any free wireless tether app. While my phone was really fast, I could no longer tether for free. I tried every app you could think of and nothing works but this one. You must choose the option to remember when you grant permissions for root and you must reboot after first install. This app must request root permission like 20 times back to back. I got it to work and now I can tether LTE for free with 4.3 jelly bean.

Hello, I write to say that somehow on my galaxy Note 3 I had broken the tethering option with some rom or something. Even reinstalling the whole original firmware was not getting it working. Searching and searching on & off for months actually got me on a webpage where in your comment #172 of last year you posted about this app. All of this is to say THANK YOU, and that your app is still relevant. Be well :-)

Rooted and on a custom ROM (D3rp G2) with the native Hotspot hacked to allow it without subscription. The mod incorporated with the ROM occasionally needs a reboot to allow a device to connect to the internet through the Hotspot. But with jTether, a reboot is no longer needed. Very nice toggle. Keep up the good work!

Niiiiice work devs, simplistic and easy. I even love the lil red Android icon, B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!! and to the gentalman below use stock WiFi app to turn this apps connection off, nice and simple!!! Great app devs keep up the good work. and to the other person below the other one if you are rooted this app works PERIOD!!! & to person below them, what root user app are you using? I never had to reboot to get this to work & once I give an app SU rights it sticks thats it!

This stupid app denies me superuser access. I run super user all day and my device is rooted. Learn how to write an app

Im using a sgs2i i9100 and tried many other methods and apps to fix my wifi tether problem. I could get a connection to my laptop but had no internet access, with minimal packets received. This works perfectly for me. Thanks

I installed this on a galaxy s3 from Sprint with the new KitKat OTA update. Unfortunately, it does not work. I get a popup message that I have not subscribed to sprint hotspot service. wish it did.

Got Wifi HotSpot Started, but still did not work. Said connection was unsecured and I was not able to get internet on my laptop.

Amazing app. I use it all the time. Only issue I have would be that it leaves wifi on when the app is shut down. I like that it turns on wifi as necessary but if it was off to being with it should leave it off. Consider it 4.5 stars. If this setting is fixed it'd be perfect.

Nexus 5, this used to work, don't know why it stopped. Swarm of toast messages was always annoying

Doesn't work, just loops the following message 3 times: "Unable to connect to data network"

Had so many issues getting my rooted SGS3 (running CM11 m6) to allow me to connect to Internet using the AndroidAP. I could connect to the the phone's WiFi but no internet access was availed, this app resolved this issue like a charm!

Could not open wifi teather after root just kept closing as soon as you opened it. This fixed it perfectly. Thanks.

It does send a signal but i cant get past the password. That four star is temporary. Zte boost max.

Only tether that works on my LG F6 Android 4.1.2 device out of a bunch I tried from app store. Better explanation of how it works would be nice, considering it requires root.

CyanogenMod fixed tether so don't need now but was great.

This is not a tether app, rather, it fixes problems in the stock tether function. Works well, fixed tethering on my Nexus 5.

Had issue with stock Hotspot, so tried this, only negative is when I turn this off, it automatically turns on my wifi.

Using SGS3 with cm11 and wifi tethering just wouldn't work... but with this app it did! I guess the iptables fix really did it.

This fixed my WiFi tethering issues on my rooted and romed LG G3. I'm fortunate that I found this app while I still had some hair left!

Must have tried for 2 weeks to fix my tether on my sprint galaxy note 2 after root and flash CM11 nothing worked. This did it right out of the box! Awesome app!

Just downloaded it to see if it would, bypass the tether feature that cost 10$ a month, stupid idea btw, because cricket (at&t) blocks it, anyways, I setup my stock hotspot, etc, and clicked on this, and it was enabled, thanks, I can't believe companies, really make people think they control their phone, ha thank God I'm informed. Smartphones government asset's.
