Note for newbies: if you're using the bluetooth kit to connect, you have to initiate the bluetooth connection from the app and not from the android system settings like every other bluetooth device you would use. It's pretty silly that it requires you to connect this way, but that's how it works.
Hardly any significant improvements over the years. I asked about EGTs years ago, but still not an option. Asked about better looking guages, again, no development at all. JB4 itself is a great upgrade for more power, but let down by lazy developers. Hope they change to people who actually care about the product.
I'll update if I get help. I always have issues connecting, when it does, it freezes, I get an error saying that my cable is faulty or the chip is bad, 3 different complete JB4 kits later, still does the same thing over 40°F outside. Now 4 the jb4 itself. My 14 BMW 335i EWGFBO no power from jb4 n limp mode randomly. Sent logs n pics like POP-UP says, never get a response, 1x I did n the"C.S."🤣 was rude n acted like I'm stupid n like I don't know what I'm doing, waste of 🕐🕣🕤
Great app but a few minor things. First, it loses connectivity when my S9 switches between day/night screen along with my car and often cant initiate the handshake again until the car is turned off resetting everything, same thing if android auto has a glitch in connection. Would like to see a hp gauge if possible since my performance screen shows it
App 'works'...just not very well. I have a galaxy s20 and wanted to just be able to plug the otg cable in every time I drive. Instead, you have to make sure the car is completely turned off, pop the hood, then finagle with first disconnecting the jb4 end, connecting the otg end first, reconnecting the jb4 end then starting the car. Otherwise I receive a 'connection error' message. App is pretty much worthless for anything but loading new maps. A bit disappointed they cannot seem to fix this.
App used to update my M3 JB4 firmware and now it does not. Build #314 (latest as of today, 4/24/20). Downloaded latest file, via the app and the moment I select the file and select flash, it gives (JB4 connection required). I go back to the gauges view and the connection has dropped. Tried raising timeout value to 30 and hitting 'done' and when I return to that screen after going back and clicking 'connect', the value has switched back to 10. I have the phone right next to the unit.
Just purchased and installed. App says connect kit update required. So I hit yes. It "updates". I hit the connect button and it says no devices found. I've done this dozens of times following their troubleshooting website page instructions as well. Nothing works. I emailed support and haven't had a response yet.
App works great but can't upgrade hardware. Attempting to perform a firmware update when I get the error "CARB approved JB4 systems can not be updated or adjusted" Does this mean that I'll never be able to update the hardware or is this a glitch in the app?
Worked great for the first year. But now it wont stay connected. Can reconnect but after a bit it looses connection. Other then that its great. No i havent changed out anything. I have just sent support an email. I will see what they have to say. And thanks for the reply.
No crashes, plenty of options, and easy to use. My only issue is that I feel like the UI needs some updating. Also, this app would greatly benefit by having Android Auto / Apple Car Play compatability. Please please consider having this functionality in a future release.
What can I say, this app is a big fat RIP OFF!! Seems to be missing a bunch of things I would of expected as standard (like everything you can change from the steering wheel for starters), seriously needs a screen for setting all the configurations and vehicle gauges. I also find it ludicrous you have to pay for the app after paying $150 for the wireless dongle....
Installed the JB4 Tuner on a 18 Kia Stinger GT2, also replaced the spark plugs (Denso), BMS Intakes and the intercooler, all purchased from Burger Motorsports. I run 100 octane fuel on map 3, this car is now how the car should of come from the factory. Absolutely love this bluetooth app, you can literally see what is going on in real time and change maps on the fly. 100% recommend.
2015 Fiesta St Tuned by Tune+ and JB4. I don't know why the community doesn't use the JB4 more. Now u don't wanna data log or flash tune with it installed or have your JB4 on map 0. But when u combine a good flash tune with the extra engine management ability of the JB4 you will safely maximize your flash tune. Boost by gear, lots of safety features, and future wmi control. Not vin locked! I mean come on get it already. Oh and spring for the Bluetooth option app rocks.
Really like the app. Just wish the interface and functionality could be updated to do some other things like T*rque. I know it isn't designed for the other features, but since we can't use them together, it would be great to have this app do it all!
This app is not allowing me to adjust fuel bias after the most recent firmware update in my JB4. BMS states it's not up to them to fix this, but up to whomever manages this app, but I have no idea how to contact them. As of right now I feel like I wasted my money on this app, as I've just gone back to using the windows software and lugging around my laptop instead.
Installed this app when I got my Jb4 with bluetooth for a 2019 Honda Civic Type R. Couldn't get it to work right so I emailed them. They got back to me right away to solve my issue. I was surprised at how communicative they were. Because of that, I highly recommend both the Jb4 and the app. Also, the app itself is pretty awesome.
This app is an absolute must if you have a JB4 piggyback tuner in your car. It has an excellent interface and loads of tuning options that can be adjusted on the fly.
Own a sportwagen with a JB1 and it works flawlessly everytime and gives me gti power. I am able to switch maps depending on octane quickly or adjust my custom map. Very happy with the app so far.
Works well, zero connection issues. I believe the placement of the Bluetooth adapter on the JB4 is the reason for some issues people are having. I placed mine where the install instructions recommend and have never had a single failure to connect. This thing makes a very noticable difference and increase the fun factor of driving my vehicle. I can't imagine driving without it now. Zero fault codes because of the JB4. Worth the money and definitely go for the Bluetooth/app combo.
