The only thing worse than this app, is the website itself, but I digress. With the app, you cannot see the profile of someone who is writing to you. The app does not allow for paragraphs. The app cannot render apostrophes! (Such old technology died in the 70's)
Before I became a paying member, there were many messages to me, however I had to pay to read them. Guess what? Not long after I became a paying member, I did not receive more messages. My friends who are there also said the same thing. So I guess this is how it works. You lure people and then nothing. Not even on my "viewed me" list. Go figure... As soon as my membership ends I will not come back. Jdate wrote it as a login issue. This is not the case.
Very glitchy app, I just paid money but it still glitch. When I try to see profile of the person who in my inbox, it do now let me do it. There are other problems with the app
Android says this bug has an app and that I just need to wait for the developers to fix it. Meanwhile--it doesn't run! #S22Ultra
Updated 9/22/18: Deleted the app. It costs $60 for a one month subscription! Without a subscription you can't view more than one pic of members, can't see who viewed you, can't read messages. Essentially you can't do anything. Not to mention there aren't many members on there, even when you expand your search parameters. And I'm in NYC! Original review: Just downloaded it and like everyone else, it only shows one picture in each profile even as you scroll through the multiple pics they have loaded.
so this is an update to my update and your response. No I will not contact customer service. The issue is your app is extremely slow. It does not load pictures right away despite having a very modern phone with tons of memory. your app is slow. I have to wait forever to get pictures I will continually embarrass you publicly until you actually respond and do something. Neww update 7 /13/19: now the app has totally crashed and has not worked for 3 days!
This app is horrible. Filled with bugs. The private message system will erase half written messages and only some sent messages actually go through. It's clunky, confusing, and often behaves unexpectedly. I see three instances of the app notifications on my Android, indicating bugs. Do not recommend.
App's interface is very user unfriendly and frustrating to use. Seems to have a lot of bugs and glitches. In search, photos don't appear most of the times even after restarting the app multiple times. Stay away!
many users have duplicate photos. please fix this. Sent the bug report to the email. I don't understand why you need this. The email you have here doesn't work. Even worse. Edit: now we also have 3 sticky notifications telling that the app is running 😡
Absolute worst user interface *(UI) it is so bad it's almost like they dont want u to meet anyone. 1. The pics never show up so it's just the generic place for a pic but no pics 2. The search function is slow (they must use cheap data center and servers ) 3. The ability to interact and message is practically retarded 4. There is no one using this app. Heres a suggestion to app developers. Go look at seeking app and fix your situation. No point using app. Highly do NOT recommend.
Borderline scam at this point. The app and website are extremely buggy. Very few users and virtually useless unless you subscribe which is ridiculously expensive. Jdate was a fairly well known service for a long time but clearly time has not been kind. Don't know if the company was bought out or what but at this point it needs a major update...or to just go away.
This app is very difficult to use, not the least bit user friendly. The messaging using the app is clumsy at best and you do a better job writing a message using their internet site rather than their app. Why, when I use the app does two or three notifications show in my bar but I am not informed if someone messages me or views me. It is impossible to tell who is a passing member and who isn't. Non paying members should receive special notification if the message is from a prime member.
App is full of bugs on Android - pictures dont show, notifications dont dismiss without a force stop. Way overpriced for what it is - doesn't look like they've made any improvements in years.
App freezes most of the time. A big mistake signing up for this company. All this app does is freeze up, no photos but information, and the app just doesn't work right. A waste of my money!
Terrible interface. Often doesn't load properly, rarely seems to be anyone new on the app. Have used free apps that are better value than this paying app. Not about the money, just frankly a waste of time.
I'm highly disappointed with all the negative reviews... I (personally) feel the app works great, with a nice selection of individuals :') I actually prefer the app vs web version, except for the auto-capitalization e.g. starting a new sentence etc. Customer service is responsive, as well; deserves 5 stars 👍👍
i am a paying member and the app will not work and has not worked in 3 days. fix your app or give me a refund. The pictures never load and the app is very laggy. Why can't you fix your app. I paid for a membership and after looking at reviews this appears to be a known problem. Why can't this be fixed? Also makes you pay to see who likes you. I paid for a subscription but now they want even more to see who likes you? How does that make sense? You can't see who likes you!
greedy app that doesn't let you do anything without paying. Not to mention there's like 5 people on it and a bunch of old profiles where nobody logs in anymore. I waited a week and my profile pic was never approved or denied. Do people even work there? Why can't I pay for one month and why are you charging 45 dollars a month when there's barely anyone on? Get real. Greedy greedy greedy app Also, where is associates degree on the list? I have a degree but can't show it.
Wonder why there is virtually no description of this app? The app draws you through the entire sign up process until the very end - where it tells you that in order to send or receive any messages you must pay for a subscription. In the meanwhile they capture all your data.
For the last several days now the app will not launch and Jdate doesnt seem to be interested in addressing this. Jdate is completely unable to properly maintain either an app or matches on their web site in a consistent manner for the price they are asking. This is completely unacceptable and is negligence on the part of the company.

Simple terrible. Even one star is more than it deserves. It totally ignores your matching preferences - and I mean totally. For example, I specified orthodox and modern orthodox and get all types including "culturally Jewish" whatever that means. Makes it totally useless. Zero help from customer support. Regret paying money to be a full member and will definitely NOT renew. You have been warned.
1) the app fails to show a return key in the keyboard for messaging 2) the app refuses to switch back from sending message to viewing profile. 3) the Captcha login screen is almost impossible to use. The images of sea planes are hard to distinguish from regular planes, same with bicycles and motorcycles, and with busses vs trains. There is no reason for this nonsensense.
