Very helpful & useful dictionary. Have been using it for past 7 years. Some parts of the apps which can be improved: 1. Only able to show maximum 50 records that are saved under 1 tag, on device. 2. Breakdown subcategories of 'Words by Category' and show them in default, so they can be learned by browsing, instead of by searching. Anyway, hands down no complains whatsoever. It's a genuine learning apps which is free (ads free too).
I've used this for many years and have always been enamored with the straightforward UI and usability. I especially appreciate that it is offline and stored locally. It appears that this has not been updated in a very long time and that is unfortunate. Something this great deserves more attention. Best Japanese dictionary currently available on Android by far.
I enjoyed the simplicity, efficiency, and it worked perfectly! ... Until one day it didn't. The app couldn't be open, it kept on crashing upon one click. Tried re-installing, but the same problem occurred. What a shame.
Been using this app since 2013 without problem. It's clunky to install but worth the effort since it works completely offline and is a comprehensive dictionary with example sentences.
Overall is good, its pretty complete but unfortunately you guys never updated the app because as time flies there are many new words like slang etc so it would be great if you guys add some new words that is not included in the app.
So wonderful how words can be searched in English or Japanese. Interface is dark mode before it was a thing. Still runs on Android 11. 2021 - 10 years after it was last updated - still the best English-Japanese dictionary available.
This used to be my favourite dictionary app for its design, convenience and low nemory space requirement. However after a few months not using, it's now unusable. I don't want to accept the fact that I have to move on and switch to another app since this one was almost perfect for me. Hopefully I can soon use it again in the future!
I have used this app for many years now and have found it fast, thorough, and immensely useful. Offline archive is extremely handy and helps ensure your searches never get stuck on a loading screen when you need it most.
This app used to be amazing, but I haven't been able to open it without it immediately crashing in nearly a year. I've waited long enough for a fix. Sad, app is completely useless now. I have had it for years, but guess it's time to move on to something new.
Easily one of the best JP apps I've ever used. I've used it constantly, day to day for years and years now and it rarely lets me down. Extremely helpful, would highly recommend.
I've used this dictionary since I started learning about 5 years ago and I've never found any better one. It's very light, intuitive and not lacking in any aspect. Completely recommended.
I've been using this for years and while there are sometimes entries missing information (like a word doesn't exist where it should), this is still one of the best and most complete dictionaries out there.
Used to be my favourite go-to and has proved VERY useful, but now no longer opens. Crashes the moment its opened after the recent update. If this is fixed, I will change the rating.
For those of you having the crashing problem after the update, you have to go into your files and look for the 'jed' folder and delete the older version. It doesn't delete the old version from the update, and uninstalling doesn't delete it either.
Very functional. My go to Japanese dictionary. Only thing that would make it better would be the option to have a word of the day for those interested in expanding their vocabulary
Very useful and easy to use. It also has 1. List of all Hiragana and Katakana 2. Search Kanji by radicals
Doesn't work at all on the latest version of Android. Just immediately closes when app is opened.
I love the app. Easy to use and navigate. Simple design and interface. Idk why the developers had to put this app on hold. Such a great simple app.
Really good. It has all the information you need about a word (as long as you speak some Japanese), you can use it offline too which is great.
I just downloaded. Im totally new in Japanese and this is super easy to use. +Bonus for offline! 5 star for saving my life. But 2011 last update, still good.
I absolutely love this dictionary. The only thing I'd like to suggest is that keigo (teineigo, sonkeigo, kenjougo) be included in the "category" search, because that'd make my life a bit easier. But other than that this is the best jisho ever.
Not user friendly or pleasing to the eye also glitches when you scroll and makes my eyes hurt also couldn't even figure out how to use it at first , had to keep clicking around ..
Amazing results from this app. a little confused though, I installed this some time ago and am on version 0.2 but google play doesn't say there is an update.
Very basic but easy to use. It's my go-to after using ALC online. My one nitpick that still frustrates me on occasion after a few years of using this app: the hit box for the "X" to clear the searchbar seems really small to me. It requires a lot of precision to clear your search with the first tap, and most of the time I tap repeatedly, give up, and backspace everything instead.
