App keeps closing out!! (Insert very angry emoji!) If I stand on 1 foot, cross the first two fingers of my right hand, place it on top of my head and spin around 5 times, then by some miracle it let's me set up a passcode to connect, but then the app again closes. I haven't quite figured out what movements I'm supposed to do now to actually get it to pair. Any suggestions?
This app has always been buggy, but after the last update it's totally non functional. Lock button doesn't work, can't change security password, walk mode does nothing. I would never release software that's in this state, it's like they don't even test. Edit: the recent update fixed some of the bugs, most importantly the ability to lock and unlock the vehicle. Changed to 3 stars.
The app is nearly worthless. 1. Won't let you sign up for an account, whatever that provides. 2. Won't let you actually adjust the speed on the hoverboard. Whenever you change it and confirm it just goes back to it's previous setting. 3. If you try and do anything music related the app crashes. The only thing it actually does is let you change the color. Fortunately the hoverboard itself works great, but the app is complete garbage.
I've read several reviews, good and bad. I've used the RAVE along side the app, and here is my verdict. The app is not well optimized, user-friendly or clear to navigate. However, I have been able to connect the board to the app, register for an account and do (nearly) everything I expected from the app. The only thing I am having issues with is the in-app music controls. That is one thing everyone has right when they say it doesn't work. Just make it more user-friendly and fix the music part.
Doesn't connect when you want it to. Connects when you don't want it to. Finally connects and while you're trying to do something, it disconnects. Settings never stick. Light options don't stay. And like I read in other reviews, you can't connect to music through the app. You have to connect to the board as if it is a wireless speaker from basic bluetooth. If you attempt to play music through app, it crashes. Disappointing.
great once I figured the app out. realized that there are two Bluetooth devices to connect. one is the speaker. once that's connected, open your own music app and when you play music, it plays through the device. don't use this app for your music, it crashes. Use your own, such as YouTube Music. It plays like a normal BT Audio device, BECAUSE IT IS. Enjoy!
Completely worthless. I'm an IT professional and use apps and bluetooth all of the time so this is not user error. The app disconnects constantly no matter what phone I use. The account creation doesn't work so you can't create and account and when you try to change the settings of the hoverboard they revert back to default. You can't change them. It matter what you do. Don't bother with this or Jetson, get another brand of ride on that actually has some sort of quality control.
Looks like it could be a useful app, but doesn't cover, and connect to, all available Jetson models. I have the Z12 Galaxy and it isn't even listed, nor can the app find the device for pairing. Tried pairing with my phone's bluetooth first and still no go. EDIT: Tried on day 2 and was able to pair. App has lots of options and looks like it will be useful, but now the hoverboard has one side that won't move. Time for an exchange...
The app is terrible... It's a clunky mess. IF you can manage to get it to connect, the rave forgets the light settings anyway and defaults to white or shows nothing. I'm not going to connect my phone to this stupid thing every time it gets used. That said the Rave seems nice, and the settings in the app (if you can connect) are very noticeable. Beginner is undrivable. Intermediate seems the best.
App BARELY functions...inconsistently. Usually the system information is blank, the system self check is blank, and changing the difficulty, speed, etc., does nothing. It resets to the prior value, meaning the app isn't connected to the device even though you connected it to the device. I did notice the hoverboard BEEPS any time something is changed in the app if it's properly connected. If it doesn't beep, no changes will be saved. How to get it in this mode regularly I haven't figured out.
App is not very stable.If everything actually worked the app would be great to use. Unfortunately it constantly crashes and the music feature will not run without crashing and disconnecting. The only things that seem to work well are the light settings, speed display, and the battery indicator. In regards to the Hoverboard is well put together, but battery life is pretty bad..and since the app isn't properly controlling the speed etc. There's no way to not drain it fast. Fix the app please!!
The app actually isn't that bad for adjusting settings. After a little messing around and reading reviews, I figured out that to change settings; the board has to be on, connected via Bluetooth(not through the app but the phones bt), and no one standing on it. When you change a setting successfully it will beep.
Worst app ever. Bought the force extreme combo for my son's birthday. The board and cart are great but you can't access the board to change anything with this app. Bluetooth on the board and the 4 different devices I tried to use work with no issue. I even followed several "reset" steps provided by customer service. This has obviously been a problem for a long time and they either can't or won't fix the app. Buy anything but a Jetson.. wish I would've seen the reviews first so I could have
Takes about 2 minutes to start. Unacceptable. Otherwise it mostly works with my electric bike. Some of the control a weird. Like "Walk Mode" - it is not clear at all when it is on and off and what it does. "Self diagnosis" hang the app. It could be a very good app with just a little more work and fixes.
After trying to use the app from multiple devices both Android and iOS, I've come to the conclusion that the app is useless and a waste of storage space. I've tried on multiple occasions and have yet to successfully connect to my daughters hoverboard. Would rate 0 stars if it would let me. Update: even after they finally updated the app it's still useless. It now sees the hoverboard but won't connect
Terrible app. The application crashes every time you open it if you do not hit the skip button. This is the only way to get past the startup screen to connect any device. Surely the development team for the app can fix this issue considering it's been sitting at a 1.9 rating for months....it's not hard to do. Another complaint, Why have past patches removed the option of 18mph for the bolt? If it's a safety hazard then why not put a disclaimer or instead of locking people out of the option?
Do not like the fact there are 2 Bluetooth connections. I can rarely get the actual hoverboard (not the music, thats a separate bluetooth) Bluetooth connection to connect, which is the connection I would use most. Most of the time when you try and connect, the app freezes then crashes. Very frustrating considering you have to get it connected in order to adjust your hoverboard >:(
Great hoverboard, almost awful app. I can change the top speed settings (doesn't actually change the speed, just sounds an alarm when you go too fast), but (like everyone else it seems) the app crashes any time you try to access the custom color feature. Will fix my rating if the app gets fixed.
Although my Bolt does connect, this hoverboard app is really just that--it's meant for the hoverboard. I used to be able to do things like to turn the headlight on and off, but because I have a Jetson e-bike this is no longer possible. The app also crashes A LOT. All I can really do now is see the exact percent battery remaining and the speed in kmh. The Jetson site directs customers to this app, but it seems like that's just never been updated ever since the original app was taken down.
Needs better instructions on setup process. App locked up and went to a black screen while trying to connect after entering passcode. I tried several times, reinstalling the app, to no avail. I FINALLY FOUND SUCCESS when I connected my phone to hoverboard (impulse astro) through BT connections in phone settings prior to connecting though the app. Have patience through blank screen, I believe it's initilizing. (2 - 5mins and app works) A % to completion meter would help to eliminate confusion.
The app does not let you sign up and it is always crashing the settings sometimes wont adjust and even the lighting controls are buggy. There are times where the app will not notice the hoverboard. Seems like these problems are very consistent and the company has done nothing to address the issue, this is definitely a deal breaker I will be returning this hoverboard
The hoverboard is great, but this app is trash. The only huge problem with it is the connection. Almost every time I move the hoverboard it says disconnected. And everytime I go to play music (from the app) it will disconnect even when the hoverboard is connected to my phone (bluetooth). I go to another music app and it plays just fine on the hoverboard. I'm still able to at least change the lights. Please fix this Jetson!
my kids love their rave hoverboards but the app is pretty much useless which in turn makes the hoverboard features unable to be accessed. You cant change the colors or set the speed faster without the app. bluetooth stays on long enough to maybe select a light color if you are lucky. But cant change speed setting causing hover to beep constantly. app needs updated to fix these issues and I would give it 5 stars! But for now I would give it a negative 5 if I could!!
I've got a new hoverboard (Alpha L from Sam's Club) and a new Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra. The hoverboard connects via bluetooth to my phone as a media device but this app is garbage in its current state--it will not allow me to connect to the hoverboard. As a result, the hoverboard does not perform as advertised. I cannot tweak speed and sensitivity settings, and I cannot control LED settings. It needs to be fixed--otherwise it's just false advertising.
