I keep hearing that Monster is a great resource for job seekers but honestly, I'm disappointed by the app. I wish there were more filter options like for education requirements, minimum salary, full-time/part-time so I don't waste precious time combing through jobs that aren't even close to what I want. Also being able to save filtered searches and get notified for these searches would be great! Also I wish I could see the jobs in those searches that my resume matches. I just need more.
Not a fan. Doesn't upload the pdf correctly, somehow it changes the format. No way to put a photo. Confusing and super time-consuming to get your info the way you want it, and then its not even how you REALLY want it lol.
The jarring feed update and the near useless filtering and search options , at this rate the best option would be if they looked for some softare engineerrs on indeed. Its so jarring with the stopping to update it gives me motion sickness
When I logged into the website, it said I had 50 messages in my inbox. Yet there are no controls to delete the messages or mark them as spam. I installed the app, hoping I could swipe to delete the messages, but the app says my inbox is empty! So both the website and app have bad interfaces when it comes to messages.
What an utterly basic job app. Where to start. Uploading your resume doesn't matter because you're still going to have to fill a good bit out as well as correct errors made by their system. Up next is recommended jobs which won't be in any particular order and may show you jobs from across the country if you've recently moved like I have. When searching for a job there is only one filter "remote work" on or off. Nothing else that would be useful. Long way to go for this app.
I cannot get past the 'basic info' screen. I've created the account, but everytime I press "looks good" it says something went wrong. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
This is what bothers me; for those that want to get OUT of the job criteria they are currently stuck in, could you possibly give employees the option of changing that 'headline' to their profile that describes in a word what they are mostly skilled in: via on the app? ALSO, not very consistent when it comes to app to desktop profile details. Aside, monster has very extensive connections that don't waste time. Recommend this for anyone looking for more job opportunities.
The app will not reflect my proper job title. It keeps listing my most recent work experience which isn't the profession I'm trained to do. It was a temporary job I did to make ends meet and not leave a gap in my work experience while I completed my education. It's frustrating to have to fight with this app so much. The online version lists it and allows me to have a profile picture so why does the app not follow suit?
The job filter function is legitimately useless. You can't filter for remote work, or companies, or anything.... Step your game up.
From the TV commercials, it would seem like a no Brainer and you'll find work fast, but tbh I find indeed works the best so far, this app does not provide me with actual job suggestions that support my title. Also in all the self searching I do on this app 90% of all jobs I find that fit, I'm directed to the site to apply there, very middlemanish and I generally use apps like this to cut that middleman out. I upload a resume to the app so I do not need to go thru that additional hassle.
Horrible interface. No filter options for distance, FT, PT, recent listings. Very frustrating.
Has no option saying I will only consider positions in a specific area. It gets old fast hearing from recruiters that want me to move across the country.
Html formatting code is displayed in the description of many job postings in the app. Everything renders correctly on the website so they need to get the app fixed.
Looking for entry-level positions locally, gives results at ALL levels, nationwide.
Horrible app. Can't filter how far you want to travel. Actually you can't filter anything but work from home. The app pulled a random resume from my phone and uploaded all the wrong information. More than likely deleting this within a few days.
This app is terrible. You can't filter by distance, pay, hours. It doesn't stick to the jobs you're actually searching for. They need to use indeed, and or zip recruiter themselves. This way they can see how a job search platform is supposed to work. Then go back and make the changes that are painfully obvious.
I dont know what happened to Monster. It used to be such a good site/app for jobs. Maybe its just the mobile app version. I get recommendations for jobs in 2 states away. its missing a lot that its competitors have. like choice of search radius.
I am looking for a job in a certain area, and it keeps giving me out of state jobs, and not in the area I want to work Would be nice if you could select the distance that you want to travel for work
Jobs are definitely out there, but Monster o ly seems to show me out of state options. It barley shows me anything within a 15-25 mile radius. Very annoying. The app, doesn't have many options to become helpful.
No one hiring has their hourly rate in which they pay nor the times that they are looking for. It's quite a waste of time to apply and go through a process and come to find out one of the above in such a long while. Just too long and not practical. Other sites do have these features. I will be searching through them until monster catches up.
