Great emulator for most part. Plays both Gameboy And Color games, ads arent intrusive to gameplay and helps John with well deserved income or just buy to remove and Still help him out, easy to use interface and options with a scan button that searches the whole phone for roms. A Quicksave/load button that really comes in handy and save states. Only issue is the movement buttons, while a controllers move buttons are connected, this has a gap in the middle and no options to fix. Great otherwise!
It's literally like a real gameboy, especially the part where it could remember the real time for games like Pokemon crystal, and on top of that it doesn't take up much battery and there are multiple save slots(even when exiting a rom they will ask to save). Gonna buy the full version because the devs more than deserve to get paid for this, even though i have everything i need from the free version
Love it, except I can't play my downloaded games offline anymore. It lags so much that the frame rate is 1 to 3 fps offline and I downloaded this to be able to play games WITHOUT AN INTERNET CONNECTION. It used to play fine offline, but now it doesn't. It also has disruptive ads that pop up and if you have your volume all the way up it bLASTS you with audio instead of automatically muting the app.
BEST. EMULATOR. EVER. It's got ads, but gameplay is smooth and I like that you can choose to turn smoothing on or off because I personally hate smoothing so I'm glad there's an option to turn it off. you can put in cheats (some don't work but a majority do) and I also like how there's a speedup button because some games I just prefer to play sped up. I think this is the best gbc emulator if you don't mind ads.
It does everything a gameboy emulator should do. Perhaps a little too much for a "lite" version. If anything, a strange thing this emulator does is restrict features in airplane mode...? Not even when there isn't any internet, it's just in airplane mode. I have no clue as to why. Dev please explain.
This is the only emulator I recommend. I've been using this and the GBA emulator for quite some time now and I've never run into any issues. The ads are easily avoided and NEVER interrupt gameplay. Truly fantastic. It reminds me of holding the actual Gameboy in my hands.
You can control the layout and size of buttons and screen which is very nice. For the best experience turn off your wi-fi because the adds are quite annoying. Haven't noticed any lag or glitches while using it to play Pokemon Yellow so I do recommend.
Was great and the adds were minimal, but now every 30 seconds to 2 minutes, it opens up a website link to Omaha Steaks website. I can't even play a game on it anymore. On top of that, it when I come back to the game it runs another video ad before I can play. Not worth it anymore.
Overall pretty good, but I recently noticed how much audio latency there is, and now that I hear it, I can't unhear it, and so everything feels unplayable now. If there was improved audio latency / more options for it, this would be a nearly perfect phone emulator
It is good except when you push down 2 buttons at once then the app.starts pushing all the buttons for you and your character dies. Also you can only hold down 2 buttons at once and some games.require.you to hold down three in order to get past.a.spot. this app is good if you know to control it
Runs very smooth, never crashed (for me at least) and has the ability to automatically scan through your files to find the game that you want to play. Johns emulators are easily the best emulator apps out there, and I really wish he made an an app for an NDS emulator.
It's a great emulator with some pretty neat features. But it needs support for shaders. Also I'm experiencing some audio issues with Link's Awakening DX, it seems like after every few beats it skips a beat.
Emulates GB and GBC games perfectly. After installing the GBA version a while back, I longed for a GB/GBC version and finally got it! Ads aren't intrusive like on other lite versions of apps. You can click out of them right away! Quality app.
This is the best GBC emulator I have ever used. And I liked it that it supports both GB and GBC games 😍 but there is just one problem if I want to record a gameplay the gamepad overlaps the game screen . So please move the game pad down. Overall best app.
I have been using these emulators since they popped up on the play store. never once had a problem with anything. people need to remember that this is a MOBILE APP and not the actual hand held device. nothing is perfect and if you think you can do better then go ahead and do it. 5 star for John GBA and GB. keep up the good work!
Pretty good gb/c emulator but I'm having problems running this game i want to play. It's "The hands of Time" for gbc. It's mostly white screen. Aside from that all other games i tried run perfectly. I'd say the best for free on the playstore.
This is emulator is the best, literally the best. Gonna recommend it to everyone. It has all the features the paid version does except for the ads which aren't so annoying, but since I am a child I couldn't support you guys but gonna support by rating 5 stars. And all their emulators are like this
Played for a few days then just out of the blue lost all progress on literally everything for no apparent reason at all. I've Used many emulators in my life never had this happen, on top of that Ads are constant, wouldn't waste your time.
I like that it doesn't lock the save/load state function like MyBoy does behind a pay wall. However, it's pretty standard to have Cable Link function for all the Pokemon games these handhelds are known for. You can't evolve certain Pokemon without it. Would like to see this corrected in the future.
A great Emulator loading app, a little confusing if you do not know how to download ROMs onto your device first. Not many problems, customizable, allows the use of cheats. Ecspecially great with pomemon games.
Pretty miffed after my game progress was lost! Pokémon Crystal, appears the internal save feature doesn't work and you must use the app save feature. The turbo buttons were handy but caused some parts of the game to stop working.
Pretty good. Easy to use. I don't like the ads at the top of the screen. Takes away from the true feel of a Gameboy. I know it's to keep the AP free, but it's unnecessary to have them on the game screen as I am playing.
I don't like the interface. Just look how emulators are made for iOS and compare with one. No stupid text black menus, interface athat looks like the original hardware, that is how it should be done. The interface right now is like it wase made for android 2.0, very very unprofessional. Sad that a good programmed emulator lacks of a good designer.
Its a great emulator. Simple, fast. My only problem huge problem actually is that when i save and come back later my progress gets lost. Happened twice so im giving it up
Just like all the John GB Emulator games, this only gives you a screen with a bunch of dropdown menu options and says "files not found". I don't understand what it means, and the built-in 'help' feature only gives help for the PC.
So um I reinstalled this app due to having to uninstall it to free up space. But I had reinstalled it to play my pokemon red extreme randomizer rom, and I cant even play because I get to the intro and then the app just stops and keeps stopping when I try to play the rom again. Please fix this issue.
Bored? Stuck in a room of lame people or dmv? Then this is where it's at! Very awesome emulator, if the ads bug u just play it with ur WiFi and Bluetooth turned off before opening the app.
The A and B buttons are in an awkward position which makes it impossible to play mario games where they must be pressed simultaneously. Please make the buttons resizable and enable them to be relocated on the screen. Maybe have 1 button for AB at the same time. Otherwise, it works.
