I've paid the old NES/SNES Emulator once in the past and now I paid for it twice, I hope this time it doesn't disapear. This is the best emulator for both consoles to play with Touchscreen Controllers, I recommend it to play classic Turn-based RPG titles or Puzzle Games, for any other genre that need 3 or more button presses at the same time, you'll need either Bluetooth Gamepad or a dedicated gaming device like GPD XD. But I would suggest Retroarch (free) for those because it has more features.

This is the best emulator on andriod I have ever used, hands down. Not only does this let you play both SNES and NES games it has an amazing saving and loading system. Obviously you can save to a number of slots and load anytime. But there's tweaks to it. You can load from last continuation. If you accidentally load a file you can go right back to where you were. You have a quicksave button and a quickload one. You can adjust the display and controls. There's even cloud save. The Best emulator.

The only other things I would add are a way to make fast forward only active when the button is pressed (as opposed to toggle on/off) and a way to hide the menu button or at least change its opacity. Those are purely minor gripes though. Still the best SNES emulator on the market. The UI is nice and the cloud saves are an awesome feature. Thank you for your work!

It seems like if I hold any direction on the D-pad, it stops responding after a few seconds but, only sometimes. If I let off and tap again it starts working again. However, this could just be my finger sliding on the glass w/o me noticing. (Fester's Quest). I can't really penalize the devs overall rating for that but, I am giving 3 stars on controls. I don't know how the D-pad is mapped but feel it could be just a bit bigger. Like maybe a box cut into 4 sections diagonally.

It can run both NES and SNES roms. You can edit layout of controls to your liking, and it's Bluetooth compatible as well. There's everything a typical emulator has: Save states, speed toggles, video smoothing, cheats. There's power modes if you're worried about battery usage, and a screenshot option (though you're probably better off just using your phone). The ads are obnoxious and annoying, but they don't ever interfere with gameplay. John NESS is a reliable emulator, though there is better.

Does as described. Great NES emulator but I would like to see two changes. 1) PLEASE CONSIDER AN 8 directional dPad.- it's hard to press both buttons at once to create a diagonal, such as up and right to jump right. 2) As a former game developer your works not free so I get the ads, but it's too much. Offer ways to play them where we get breaks from the ads. Maybe give us a longer, unskipable ad followed by 3 turns with no ads. Mortal Kombat Mobile does a great job of this. Thanks for making!

I really like this emulator, the auto save on exit function can be a little troublesome at first but once you get used to it it's fine. My only complaint/suggestion is a feature for hard and soft resets. I play alot of Final Fantasy 1 randomizer and using soft resets to cycle through the encounter table is a pretty big part of it. Other than that issue I'm extremely happy with the emulator.

Overall a great emulator. The only problem are the controls. The d pad is feels hard to push the buttons, this would be easily replaced if used a actual joystick than sticking with the original snes controls. Other problem is that there's a space to press the buttons at the same time (A+B or A+X for example) but why there isn't a option to the Z and R buttons? Any games that requires the use of these button are unplayave of how the buttons are set.

Amazing emulator. I love the fact that you can play most NES/SNES titles. I use this mainly for Super Mario Bros 1 and 3, but I also have Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World. The one thing that bothers me is that the controls could be better, they aren't as good as using an actual controller. Otherwise, the best emulator I have used on the Android OS.

Absolutely fantastic! I've used so many different emulators that I can easily point to which ones stand above the rest and this is a gem! It plays both SNES and NES games flawlessly and the picture is crystal clear even without shaders! My favorite feature is the quick save/load button that a lot of the competition doesn't have. The ease of use and simplicity, mixed with the customization options make this emulator perfect for those new and old to emulating. Your Famicom Emu search ends here!

I would give it a better rating if it had better functionality. I purchased no ads version but game keeps force closing several times where ads would be. Is this normal? It's definitely not enjoyable. Also, some buttons I have to press several times before they work. I try to move a player forward but have to press several times to do so. Wish it wasn't too late for a refund. I miss the original John Nes.

It's pretty cool to have both snes and nes emulators in one, but I previously paid for both of them when they were separated apps and now I have to pay again? Maybe I can get a discount or something? Not really fair tbh.. Also can you get rid of that message that appears when closing a game that asks you if u want to save? Not really necessary

THE PERFECT RETRO NINTENDO EMULATOR. Smooth, easy to use, and plays both nes and snes games! definitly recommend. BUT! Me and my brother can't play multiplayer. There is a horrible glitch that causes your controller to slide all the way to the left or right at any given time, making games like tetris impossible. PLEASE FIX THIS FAST!

So many emulator I tried but, there were many options lacked in every emulator, but this one is nearl perfect. One option lacks that is no extra (turbo) buttons for nes games, only A & B are present, we can change them to turbo but both turbo and normal buttons are needed at the same time, still thanks! for creating this app.

I would gladly pay extra for no ads. Also need to include safe link references for ROMs if possible. I don't have trouble finding them, but if my son got into this, he may not be as careful. Overall, awesome to get to play some games from my childhood without the headache of some of the false longevity and inability to save and shutdown when life happens.

I think this is the best NES/SNES emulator in the market...period. Since purchasing this a year ago, I have had my ups and downs with the app but it is simply the best out there. All i need is one app for both NES and SNES games. Controls for the virtual gamepad and customisability for actual gamepads are great. The shortcuts to quickly save and load are great. I only have two gripes - that its not compatible with android TV and that 8bitDo Pro2 is not yet in the gamepad list.

All around very solid emulator. Been playing for a while and no big issues have come up. On-screen controls are solid (though it does get somewhat cluttered. Ya get used to it.) Wish there were more visual options though. Like a crt filter or SuperHQ2X/3X blending. Other than that, it's great.

Usually the Emulator works wonders, but I have a problem with my saves and help would be appreciated! I have snes9x in my pc and I'm trying to play my old Chrono Trigger .srm save file using this emulator, but the emulator only uses .sav, and just renaming the file won't work. Any help you could offer? I really do not want to lose that save file or start all over again.

I tried about 6 different emulators and IMO, this was the superior one. Most importantly, it's easy to use and well designed. PROS: - Easy setup - Great design and organization - Runs well / few bugs - NES and SNES - Works great with gamepad - Option to get rid of ads CONS: - No online play - Not many advanced features like overlays - Buttons could be more customizable

Love the emulator, works well for my games; I just don't like the buttons and the controls. It's a bit tricky to use at first but it works fine. I do think some more problems need to be fixed, but overall it's not bad.

I used a snes9x before giving this a try and thank god i did. This emulator is amazing there's no lag at all, the virtual controller is close to perfection it's easy to save and load state. my only issue with this is that you cant make profiles for your controller layout so for example you're stuck with the snes controller layout even while you're playing an nes game.Other than that its amazing. Seriously give it a try you won't regret it

Edit: zero response/support from John or whoever maintains this app. Changed rating to 1 star. I paid to remove the ads but am still seeing them after each game is played. Going back in to the settings, I see that "Remove ads" option is grayed out and beneath it states, "This item has already been purchased". I sent an email to the developer for help a week ago but no response from John. Other than this issue, the emulator is good. At times, it tends to get sluggish or jittery/too fast.

Bil. T. Jun 20, 2020

It's overall pretty good but i wish in the middle of the dpad instead of not having a direction to press it would Just continue the direction i pressed until i press another direction because, it's pretty annoying for me when i change the direction because i do it through the middle so it would be pretty cool if you could implement that if its possible but overall pretty good nothing really to complain about. The ads aren't annoying (unlike other emulators) so pretty good 4/5 very good

This emulator is great and would enjoy it a bit more if it didn't reset my progress randomly while playing. Imagine you just beat a challenging boss your about to continue then suddenly your reset back at an inn all the progression you did before the reset lost and you have to start over from where you were before that difficult boss. Please fix this issue

Great emulator. An improvement will be acknowledged if there is option to select the different key layouts for nes and snes games. As the placement for A and B in nes games is not the same as the placement of A and B in snes games. Thank you

Too many ads. I would get SNES 9x for Android for sure. Although it's not as easy to use as John Ness, it's more than makes up for it for not wasting 10 seconds of your life every time you change games, save states, load States or even just boot up the app.
