JotterPad - Writer

I come back after a hiatus of smart phones and they have a new subscription charge to sync to my drop box!? I paid once for that feature. and that was the understanding. I am not forking over $5/ month to write text files! otherwise, app seems to have added a few cool new features for power users. ads talking about "my next hit screenplay" smack of artifice. preying on wannabe dreamers. Now I need another app that backs up to a cloud without slurping on my bank account every month. bummer

I don't know about anyone else's experience, but I am having some slight issues. It constantly jitters around due to the side bar and some other mechanisms that I still haven't identified, and it sometimes deletes entire sentences while I'm just typing away and in the flow. It's a beautiful app otherwise and after trying others out, it beats out the competition MANY times over in my opinion.

After I was writing taking a break off the app, when I came back all of the é's were replaced with weird symbols and I would love it if you fix it. I really like using this app for my little writing stuff and it's going to be hard for me to find a app like this one. Edit: I did it again and everything was perfectly fine, can you fix that bug please?

Edit: Okay, if this isn't fixed, I'm never using this app again. Every time I create a new .txt file, it never saves it into my documents folder anymore (or saves in a place that's unreachable for me). I just wanted to transfer my stories over to my computer...but no. I have to waste time writing stories only for them not to save. I have a feeling that it's just a scummy way to try and make you pay for the subscription, which I'm never doing, not after this.

sigh. this was a really good app...I was writing a book, I had SOOOOO much done and they decided to make a membership, once that happened my book was moved to the clock tab, in which deleted majority of my book. I'm super discouraged and upset. I've been working on it for a little over a year. no warning that this was going to happen. So I decided that maybe if I signed up for said membership ($4.99 + tax) that hopefully it would bring my book back. it didn't. my hard work is gone....forever.

I've been using this app for about four or five years now, and recently I switched phones and had to upload all my existing documents to the cloud. The problem for me started when I signed in online a few weeks ago and suddenly over half of my documents just disappeared. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with this app.

Abysmal update. I understand something has had to be changed due to a recent Android update, however I can't really be expected to manually import EVERY SINGLE DOCUMENT I've ever created. Please allow us to import whole folders. And where even are the new files stored? Made a test document as I manually move items to and from my PC and I can't even find the txt file I made in the updated app in my file browsers. Absolutely no chance I'm PAYING just to use my cloud storage.

Hey there I really love to use your app. But there is some issue, some of picture link can't be recognize by this app even though the older version could. Also, everytime I want to upload image from my gallery it always 'storage space exceeded' no matter what. I hope you can fix this issue but I still give 5 stars.

Despicable, counter-intuitive, I even went as far as to re subscribe for a service I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR. (I wonder, where's the tiny text that warned me of the possibility of this terrible service turning into a subscription?) It doesn't let me sync my current Drive folder with my pre-money-grabbing-subscription cloud folder. Broken. Let's just let this thing die, and move on to something better already, shall we?

Reminds me much of "Microsofts Write" that accompanied many windows versions. It offers plentyfold text editing options, for a free application. The notepad functions are valuable to anyone who likes to take down her/his thoughts in written form.

Used to be a daily user for years, but moving on to obsidian now. Since the private folder? import? update, I lost all my files. I can see them in a folder called JotterpadX but I need to reimport them all one by one and I'll lose my folders. Waste of time. Getting harder to use with having to click to edit a file after you already opened it to edit too. Bad direction.

NOPE i take back my positive review- I opened the app recently just to see that all of my work was gone without a trace. I made sure I was logged in and eventually found one or two documents from the hundreds i've written in the 'version history'. Even then, the app wanted me to pay money to recover what little they still had of my work. Please do not take this app seriously. Your work will be deleted.

Edited 2022, 3 stars now. Format is a bit better, but still not as good as the prev versions 2021, the interface just got screwed up and needlessly long and complicated. And why are the notes still on a Light background and on Markdown which can't be turned off?

Great until update. Now the save button doesn't work as efficiently. I've clicked save, then ended up losing my work. I have to keep copying my text to make sure it doesn't delete. Such a bummer, this app is otherwise perfect.

Disappointed! I had very important pieces saved into Jotterpad and came back to review most of them. There was absolutely nothing in my folders I couldn't find most of the things I had saved! I am very upset with the back up system of this app.

I downloaded this before but sadly I uninstalled it, because I think I can't do a lot to this app. Now that I downloaded it again, I was so glad that I did. Now I can customize the font and font size, it's not really a big deal but for me it's really fun, it has also a dark mode which can help me when writing my novel for a long period of time. This version was way more better! Looking forward for more cooler updates!

I recently switched phones to the Samsung 22 ultra, and all my documents originally were pulled back up. Then I went back today... And they were all gone. I've seen where I can import documents. But, I have over 200. That would take me forever to do. You guys need to had a import folder verus import individual files.

I used to love this app and use it a lot, but now it's less convenient and with the most recent update just kind of frustrating. I get that the files have to be moved and I know how to do it, but it would be a lot easier if there was a way to import all of them at once; and as another review asked, where do the new files get stored exactly??

jotterpad has been great, but all of a sudden i've found that i can't access any of my documents; they never leave the loading screen and then it says that the app isn't responding. I have a lot of important work stored on this app, and it is infuriating that i can't get to any of it. it says that my files are too large to open, even when some of them have about as much content as this review. please fix this soon.

I used to love this app, I even purchaced the full version, but since the new update I literally cant type because it's so laggy.. 1 letter takes a whole second to load. Edit: now I cant even write at all, because the subscription offer pops up every time I try to open a document and wont go away..

I started writing a book about my strange life experiences around 6 years ago. I lost a big chunk of work when I wasn't able to migrate my work to a new device so I just stopped writing. Then I found this little gem of an app. Yesterday I opened my app and all of my work was gone. I contacted customer service and they helped me locate all of my files. Best of all this app syncs to your google cloud. This app inspired me to finish my book and gives me a piece of mind knowing my work is safe.

It's nothing like the screenshots, specially about the "Mark & Fountain feature". Mark documents are same as normal documents, nothing special. And Fountain one is Locked, not even free... WHAT A SHAME. So I came all way here & install but can't even do like in the screenshot (character line different with space). And it doesn't have lots of options as well. Shame on devs. Google doc is way better, why would people even use this! Just shame, killing writers.

does everything i need it to do, would like it easier to share photos but other than that perfect app for jotting things down, and writing short stories.

Been using this app for years as a free user. Now all of a sudden it's forcing me to choose a subscription plan to even be able to edit my existing documents. I'm not paying 5 dollars a month to take notes on my phone. Back to pen and paper it is.

This app keeps getting worse. The latest problem is now the app is installing amd forcing its own fonts. I have some kind of cursive script font in this app now and it won't change to anything else no matter what I do. Goodbye losers, I'm switching to a legit app.

I bought this app years ago and forgot about it. I installed it now to write ideas on the go and sync them to Google Drive, which I used to do when I originally bought the app. Now they want £5 a month to do this task. I hate when developers screw over people who pay for apps at launch.

How annoying. I still didn't update the app yet all my notes were lost and some that was left was corrupted and left into pages.. the cloud directoey makes no sense at all
