How It Works
Room: The place where music gets shared
You can create a room or join one that already exists. Rooms can be public or private and you get to decide how many DJ's can take turns playing music. You can also pick the genre and invite friends to join. Once you're in a room you can chat, DJ, listen or just kick back and enjoy the vibe.
DJ: The tastemakers
If you want to share a song, just click 'be a DJ' and you will be added to the list of DJ's in the room. When it's your turn the song at the top of your queue will play for everyone in the room. If someone votes or stars your track, it will show up on your notifications.
Chat: Share your thoughts
Each room has a dedicated chat box where you can share your thoughts about music, life, or anything else. You can single out a single person in the room by pressing the '@' button and picking them from the list. You can also embed images and all sorts of other fun stuff to make your voice heard!
Discover New Music
Digging a song? Just star it and it will be saved to your starred playlist. Digging someone's vibe? You can follow them and get notified whenever they are spinning on JQBX. Loving the tracks in a room? You can export the entire track history to a playlist to relive the magic at your next party.
Customize Your Profile
You can upload unique gifs and change your username in real time to suit your mood! You can have four distinct images to reflect how you feel about a certain song that's being played.
Keep Your Hits Organized
All the music you save, add to your queue, and export gets instantly added to your Spotify profile. All your music stays in the same place and can be retrieved on any Spotify enabled device.

Poor UI, scroll on chat doesn't work well, API keeps timing out so manually have to sync audio every song change. No clear way to cast to devices. The only thing I liked? You can export the history of the songs to Spotify. Also the amount of permissions/data they "request" is shocking. They know everything they want to know about me from my account on Spotify.
Great app for listening to music in sync with friends from around the world. Huge problem with linking a new spotify account to the service though, as my app currently does not work at all despite clearing data, and unlinking it from the old account, and what have you. Would definitely appreciate a fix in the near future, as I regularly use this service.
It's a great idea, when it works it's great but a lot of the time music cuts out, have to leave a room, rest c etc etc. The app is not as flexible as the desktop Web version, would be good to make it more stable and also have notifications on the chat
It's a great idea and great way to hear new music, but the app is so unreliable. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I coukd get it working ~50% of the time on my old phone (One Plus 3) and about 10% of the time on my new phone (Huawei P30). It's been like this since launch so I don't think it will get solved.
Good idea, poorly executed. If I get a notification on my phone, it kills the sound. Closing the app and reopening it does not fix it. I have to reboot my phone. Why does stepping down have to kill the songs? Spotify is a cloud service. This app is stuck in 2009. Doubt I'll be using it that much. Shame.
It does serves its purpose for me. Listened to same song and playlist on different devices on sync with chat box. App can be improved, just need more customization and make things easier like put the leave room button inside the room, enable to mark songs to be added on queue and make it sortable, and display in notif panel what song's playing at the moment. Also I encountered a no music bug, I force restarted app and it worked. It's a really good app all in all. Totally exceeds my expectations.
I absolutely love the concept, the app, the desktop browser and the community. However the performance on this app is awful. Because of how good the app is I persevere through but I can't give it 5 stars based on how laggy, awkward and slow it is to do pretty much anything.
It's fun until you accidentally hit play in Spotify while trying to queue songs, at which point JQBX will no longer play any audio on your device, either on the app or the website, regardless of what other apps you have or don't have open or how many times you hit sync audio.
It's such a great idea. But needs a lot of improvement. It needs a notification option and a lockscreen option. If you open any other app and get back to this you lose audio. That needs to be fixed too.
Honestly, I don't see why people are having so many problems. This app worked flawlessly for me right from the start. The interface isn't quite as user friendly as the website but it does exactly what it's supposed to do and I've never experienced any music sync issues at all. I'll give credit where it is due :)
This app is so frustrating. It won't recognize my spotify playlists that I make, it won't let other people play music even when they are the DJ and now is won't play any sound on my device when I am the DJ (even though it plays on other members devices).
The minute you pause the app and try to start playing music again there is no audio even when the songs are playing. Cool idea but the app is useless with these issues.
Great app IF IT WORKED. Sound plays once and it doesnt anymore afterwards. Tried everything. Playlists dont sync, audio doesnt work, not a lot of people on here and its generally just really annoying to use.
Amazing. It can be improved though. One thing I find annoying is that you can close the room by mistake very easily, by just pressing the button behind. Is there a way to create a permanent room with a permanent link?
Its good but lacks the audio source option the web player has or at least an easy accessible option. For me its not worth having on my phone unless I'm out and about. At home I rather use the web player.
Sync audio - doesn't play any sounds. I've had this work on the desktop browser edition but this mobile app is completely unable to control my Spotify account.
inconsistent app on mobile. lots of features like creating lobby dont work. audio will stop functioning on app as well and resetting everything and reinstalling doesn't fix.
Much better than using Spotify Radio, because you get real suggestions based on real people and you can give back by sharing your gems. Love it.
While the app does have a few bugs, it's amazing for what it does. I love being able to share and discover new music, and each room has it's own culture and preferences which I think is almost as interesting as the music itself. Altogether, very little to complain about. I will say I have an issue with a few of the icons burned into my screen (particularly the icons for notifications and "friends" at the top of the screen) so it would be nice to have some layout options or skins to help with that.
