The product is niche, but its focused. One of the negative reviews suggested you can't save to your device. That is not true, you can either overwrite the file you are editing or you can save to a new JSON folder. However I don't see an option to save to a custom directory. I had no experience with JSON. It's so easy it is to copy, paste and organize these file types I learned how to edit RetroArch in an afternoon. One of few programs I opted to pay for out of gratitude when free is available.
It took me some time to wrap my mind around the navigation and what menu choices to use to create the result I wanted. The present design works but is clumbsy and not very intutitive--the hallmark of great UI design. Lastly, support for hypertext links would add great value, adding incentive to upgrade. Perhaps you can implement as expandable/collapsable, drag and drop (nodes), tree view, where you can click on any node to give editor the focus for adding additional elements.
You need to make it where we can select multiple objects at a time to copy and paste. Instead of copy and pasting 1 at a time. Doing that with thousands of objects can take months. But if we can select more than one at a time. It can be done in a matter of minutes/seconds. Also access to (.lang and .material) would be nice for editing minecraft arrays. Other than that. Best app ever. You have made my modding experience that much greater.
This app is pretty good, and is the only way I could find to view large JSON files on Android. However it has multiple problems like: resetting after I switch to another app and back, only showing the first key of objects found in search when clicked and "open with JSON Genie" being unstable This app would also benefit from a slider underneath the text input for numbers to ease incrementing them. View as text should also have syntax highlighting. Also add a favourites/recent files section
Simple, straight forward, no frills App. Does just what it says it can do (open.json files .txt files ect) Honest about what else it does (FREE Version has adds) Doesn't do anything Dishonest (it doesn't use over-use permissions, resources, or data) small easy App to open Text files.
This is a wonderful app. I'm not to smart on how to open some files or know how to read them sometimes. I also am very anxious about being hacked on my phone. This app has helped me understand thing's more clearly. It really has helped me. I definitely give it 5 stars. Thank you for your help.
...installed this thinking it would open my .json file only to find that this must be for something completely different... but, credit where credit is due, for 100,000+ downloads for an app that has next to no(!) explanation as to what it is or does, that's pretty impressive... unless the majority downloaders constitutes people like myself who thought it might be useful for something, but then, like me, uninstalled it when realizing that in fact it is completely useless!!! I'll never know...
Its really organized but the problem is when it asks you to save files, and since my phone doesnt allow directly overwriting files, i'll use "Ask where to save" and my file manager isnt even one of those options.
It''s to complicated for someone that does not know what anything other then the very basics are of using a smart phone, and zero knowledge of editing any kind of file🙋♂️...if you could point me in the general direction where I can get my hands on some material that can explain this in the very basic of terms, that would be great and I will gladly change my rating for the app to 5 stars...Thanks
For what it is, the app, of course, opens .json files, and lets you edit them, and it works well. The main problem comes from reading .json files, as scrolling a tiny bit freezes the app for a few seconds. My device is Redmi Note 9S, with 6gb of RAM and lots of storage, so the device couldn't be the fault. Please fix.
Well, since you promised you will only ask this once. I am giving you 4 stars for how good the app is. Pls keep up the amazing work, though after using it for a while it started having some bugs like copying the last few lines in the JSON file and pasting on the bottom which leads to the app itself not being able to open the file it edited because it is an invalid JSON. I would suggest you adding some system to help validate an invalid JSON file like jsonlint.
It's almost there.... but, it's much, much too easy to loose where you are, especially is a large file. I know it's a pain, but a multi-child recycler with collapsible tiers would be a better layout for this sort of data. I will check back....
It's brilliant app just that we should change something in your App. I am estimating that the message reading is not so good it is very confusing because you can read the messages in the down to up form and I am thinking that is wrong, it is irrelevant so you should try to be correct it... thank you and like your app.
Great app as a learner, but I have a few suggestions, I know this is not going to be seen by the devs of the app but its worth a try. ▪︎being able 2 select more than 1 thing while copying items ▪︎being able to edit in text mode ▪︎Dark theme for non premium users ▪︎json formatter ▪︎color coded text ▪︎zoom in and out feature on the veiw text mode ▪︎The ability to move the orange + bubble (Its in the way most of the time)
I would gladly rate worse if it were possible. This app (in action) & the written description of it's functionary purpose , don't coincide. Further more.. ads within this app are placed in order to block VITAL basic MUST-HAVE functions, such as the **** SETTINGS FUNKTION * Really???? Perhaps the above discription should include: "reads & collects data stored in your device during your wasted time stumbling without gain of basic use or explanatory aid navigating this app's elusive design."..
Not bad... needs a few adjustments but not bad. Bolding out messages, an easier way to scroll down, highlighting search terms, and a big problem is I get confused when there's more than 1 file. I need to combine them into one. Good day, sir!
I just downloaded my Google account data. After unzipping the Google "takeout" files downloaded. I needed an app to open the json files. This app is slamming 1 file open after another on and on! 25 json files opened read collated according to content closed and refined accordingly w/o a hitch so far! Flawless performance at breakneck speeds!
I've never used an editor that exits without asking to save your work. Feature 1: allow users to enter text. Feature 2: SAVE. These days we all expect autosave too. That's waaaay too much to ask for this worthless app.
Very useful app, intuitive and efficient. One note: the saving system is not very good, it would be good to have a "browse" function to directly select a folder.
I use this app frequently but have 2 issues, the saving does not work on Android and you cannot edit .json files in text form, 2 tings I would very much love to see.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD doesn't allow me to open what I'm trying to open. the option shows to search for an app that will open this type of file so I do and then download json and go back to that file and it still says the same thing. only allows to open what's already been created. I dont want to create one I want to open what was sent to me. this app is a waste of space and doesn't work for what you're thinking. dont download!!
Keeps freezing with advertisements on the screen, I have to restart because it won't let me say no to adds. It partially opened my .Jason file. So 2 stars is fare in my opinion.
I downloaded this app in the hope of opening an attachment that was sent to me, this didn't occur! So I'll be deleting the app 10 mins after downloading it! Perhaps it is my ignorance of this kind of an app, however I've never had problems with other new apps before
So i will say the app has its uses from my experience. I lack anything to really compare it to given i usually have decent access to my laptop. However i will say the auto alphabetization regardless of if the setting is turned on or off is really bothersome. I organized my file in a certain way for a specific reason. I don't need this to screw that up when i specifically hit the button that tells it not to do that. Even after using the move up and down to reorganize, it just undoes it.
