Jukestar - Jukebox for Spotify
Create a party and share with your guests. They can now use their phone (without needing Spotify or an app) to make requests from the millions of tracks available on Spotify, vote for the songs they like and veto the songs they hate.
The Jukestar jukebox will automatically distribute the songs in the playlist based on who requested what, when they requested it and what other guests think of the songs in the jukebox.

I used this app for my wedding and people were very excited to use it and they did. BUT as a host the song didn't play in order as they appeared. The play next feature didn't queue up So if you hit play next 4x it only would play the very next song. We ended up using Spotify and YouTube premium in a pinch.
I really like this app. I've used it multiple times when I'll have family gatherings. There is one thing I dislike though which has caused me to stop using this app. Now that people have to download the guest app to be able to suggest songs, no one uses this at my events. My family won't use it if they have to download an app. It worked a lot better when there was just a host app and people were able to suggest songs through a website.
Brilliant idea and a perfect app for parties.......apart from the fact that it can't be connected to Sonos. Sadly I won't be using because you can't have a party where the music is played over a phone.
Sounds good but doesn't work. I downloaded my Playlist but it still wouldn't play any songs, it just said no songs in queue. Guest could never enter party, when I tried to connect as guest it just says joining party but never connects.
Fun and easy to use. It would be good to be able to choose more speakers, ie wireless attached speakers (why can't I connect to all the devices spotify can see?)
Works excellently for its intended purpose. Great for a weekend getaway to make the music selections more egalitarian.
Can't sign in to spotify using Facebook because this app uses an embedded browser and Facebook blocks it.
Bug Report: Unable to login to host v3.1.0 with gmail if already registered in guest v1.0.9 with GoogleSignIn. Possible Solution: Add GoogleSignIn button to Jukestar Host login screen.
Do you have any intentions of creating a version that integrates Google Play? Seems like a great concept?
This is exactly what I've wanted for a long time. If you have Spotify premium this is a must have!
Nice app! Could use a better ui but the issue it solves needed a solution like this so badly that I dont even care 😁

As such a simple and excellent app! We had a great night using it! Update: Started using the app two years ago and had a gang here at the weekend and it was as good as ever!
After the latest update, get 'minor and major buffering' errors now which pauses the music for 5-10 seconds. It happens intermittently throughout the night while using the host app. Tried changing tablets, and even tried on different home networks and the problem persists. I can live with the addition of the 'credit' system but this latest buffering issue pretty much makes the app unusable now.
Since the guest app has been added this is practically worthless and doesn't serve it's purpose anymore. Token system is terrible and the shared link takes you to the guest app download link even though the app description says it's a Web link with no app required by quests. This app used to be amazing now I'm looking for an alternative.
This is a great app with a lot of potential. The only serious problems I'm seeing are: 1) Suggested songs / followed playlists are not populating 2) if no one has requested songs, it doesn't continue playing music. it should play based off what's been playing or the suggested if that worked.
This app had so much potential until I found out that GUESTS MUST PURCHASE TOKENS (or wait ~20 minutes) to request a song. And to add insult to injury, the Jukestar website and app description does not mention this extremely important fact ANYWHERE. I would gladly have paid big $$ for an app that can host my Spotify account as a jukebox for parties. But I refuse to make my friends sign up for a "Jukestar account" and purchase the right to play songs that I've already paid for.
Great app but the token system makes it worthless. I can't have my guest pay to request music at my party. Introduce an option to pay as a host and I'll give it 5 stars. Or turn down the short term greed and I'm sure Spotify will buy it for a fortune!
Pretty cool concept, works well. Only two suggestions I have: 1) option for music to cross-fade from one song to the next so there's not an awkward pause between songs. 2) give the host the option to add an entire Spotify playlist to the queue so there is backup music in case no one else requests songs.
This is amazing, I don't use it for parties but where it is worh it is in a family car trip, now everyone gets up hear their music.
It's everything I was looking for, an app that allows guests at your party to add songs to the playlist... But with every free app comes some kind of paywall. In the guest app you use "tokens" to request songs/upvote songs. You have a very limited number of these "tokens" to begin with and you need to buy more. This ruins the whole purpose of the app. I suggest adding banner ads or skippable video ads instead of having to pay for tokens.
Spotify should have invented this themselves but kudos to Jukestar for getting on it!
New updates have made it even better. Great for parties and user it all the time.
Token based system makes the user experience slow and painful to the point where nobody was interested in taking the time to buy into the contrived system required to gain any functionality. Could have been a good app that provides a function that Spotify desperately needs and should have already developed and integrated into their interface.
