JVC Music Play

App works fine. No bugs. However, for an Android '21 phone, the sound doesn't play from the stereo, but from the phone itself. So instead of sounding like a nuclear BANG, it sounds like an infant cat's meow. I tried using the Bluetooth feature for both stereo and phone, but to no avail. Any ideas on how to solve this issue would be appreciated, thank you.

Trying to connect to KW-R920BTS but all it ever says is CANNOT PLAY. I've tried the "troubleshooting" steps as found online of restarting my phone and reconnecting the USB cable, very helpful stuff there guys. I've updated the firmware of the stereo. The only way to play music from my phone is via aux or BT, so I guess I'm lucky I still have options but it's be nice if the USB would work too. At least it charges my phone but as for this app, utterly useless.

absolutely worthless, don't bother The app starts playing a random somg from the downloaded MP3s upon plugging it in, regardless what you were listening to before. so your listening to Spotify, Pandora or whatever you plug your phone in and next thing you know.... new song, different style, whatever. further the usb cord is horrible about connectivity so music skips, and if you try and switch to Bluetooth it automatically restarts it in USB mode. There's no settings so it can't be fixed.

Didn't work with my brand-new receiver and my new (one-month-old) MotoG6 running Android 8.0. When connecting vis front USB, it says there's an error. The Bluetooth functions (independent of this app) work fine. I found the product info page for my receiver misleading, I thought more functions (including this app) would work with my device. Luckily, Bluetooth with Spotify should be all I need, but I was hoping for more control of the app through the receiver, including repeat, "like", shuffle or changing playlists. I find that's less distracting than messing with my phone while driving.

This app does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! just read all the reviews. I've got a Samsung Note 8, and the JVC KW-V230BT, Pandora works fine, BT works fine DVD, fine, the ONLY thing I cant get to work is this JVC Music Play, its supposed to let you play whatever your playing on your phone, on your receiver through USB, but it doesn't work AT ALL, there's lots of conflicts, like BT, and other music apps that are most likely preventing Android from being recognized as an external device. Mine just KEPT going from charging, to not charging, and back and forth. VERY frustrating cuz I love my receiver, but it looks like it might be time to upgrade, and unfortunately JVC hasn't got a returning customer in me :( ALPINE BABY

Got a new android update and now the app doesnt work at all. It wont sync up to my jvc kdsr-72 anymore. And before that, the app automatically starts playing music that's downloaded to my phone, so I have to change it over to a music app and I can't change the volume without having to repeat the process.

Terrible phone keeps popping up message i need to install this, this app starts playing a random whatsapp audio message on my phone. Spotify option on radio won't work this meeps interfering. -5 stars if it was possible.

Buy from a company that specializes in newer tech instead of a dated company like JVC. Having to deal with this terrible app to play music from your phone is a nightmare. JVC makes solid sound systems but they just don't know what they're doing when it comes to programming useable applications or making playing music with your phone compatible with playing it in your car. I cannot express my regret enough with going with an outdated company for my modern needs.

Horrible. I loaded a year ago. No luck. Tried it again to see if they updated. What a horrible company. i cannot belive that jvc/ kenwood cannot develop a better app for android. I will never buy a jvc car stereo again. im pulling that stereo out and buying something else with better usb support. You loose customers if you keep doing the same old thing.

This app is not needed to play music via Bluetooth on your JVC stereo. Just pair the devices, play music on your phone, select BT AUDIO from the source menu on the stereo. If you have BT Spotify as a source option on the JVC device then you can download that and play it in the same way. Use the controls on the phone to skip etc.

This app is supposed to let the album art be displayed when using Spotify, Pandora, etc. During my 3 years of having this app hooked up to my JVC KW 430 bt, it has worked less than 1 percent of the time. Meaning the album art does not display while using Spotify. When on Spotify, it just says connecting

If I could rate this in -5. I would. It would not connect to the phone for the life of me. It drained my battery in minutes while I tried to connect. I have an android note 8. I put it in android mode. It couldnt read my phone. There was a constant notification telling me to download another app which was dumb af.

Doesn't ever get passed the intro screen with connection diagram. Have tried 5 different Android phones, same problem. App connection is never established. Can connect with bluetooth, but stereo doesn't allow you to play music via bluetooth.

This app worked really well, until the latest android update. Now it either doesn't work at all, or plays music through the phone speakers when its connected to the car. Please fix. When it was working it was the perfect app

Junk. It's pointless. I also think it's really ridiculous I Have to download this app and have it on my phone just to play CONTENT using my USB port, and then it doesn't work..UGH..It has no function. ANNOYING. NOT IMPRESSED!

A pretty average app but worked as advertised. It would be handy if i could use the phone app to select the music sometimes. The software has stopped working with android 9.

Keeps defaulting to jvc music when I'm trying to play youtube via my phone. Every time I adjust the volume it goes back to jvc music. Settings option give you no options at all, just info. Wish my old unit hadn't died!

It won't pick up any music besides the preloaded music that comes with the phone, this app is virtually useless aside from the fact that you need it to connect an android phone.

Doesn't work. JVC hasn't updated it since 2015 and it shows. The stereo unit I purchased is very solid for the price but the Bluetooth and USB connectivity is horrible.

This app does absolutely nothing. It will not work at all. I've done all the trouble shooting and pushed all the buttons that it instructs and still nothing. I'm deleting it. Update your app to work properly.

This by itself is just a completely mediocre music player. The part that makes it terrible is that, eveey time I connect my phone to use my regular music player, this pops yp, demanding I install their crapware. Bad product, bad practice. Will never use.

I'm denying this app to be able to manage my phone calls and access my photos see if I am to use the app after denying unnecessary permissions. I'll rate when able to even try it with my stereo in my truck wonder why apps ask you to rate them before you use them strange don't you think I do have a question though why does JVC music play want to access my photos and manage my phone calls it's flat out weird people. Let's take back our privacy country and world who's in?

This app has zero function. Not even sure what it is supposed to do, but does absolute nothing, no options, just a screen with a music note on it rendering my headunit unable to function with phone.. Ffs

Useless, connects and control your phone through car stereo but won't connect blue tooth for audio, limited to non existing settings will not let you change anything as far as bluetooth connectivity. USELESS!!

The app is useless, within 2 minutes i already wanted to break my phone in 2. It keeps connecting and disconnecting it only play the music through my phone and not on the radio.

With modern android (android 11), it's definitely not working or might i say broken [maybe I'm the blind but there's no tutorial for this nor the manual help] (i purchased a KD-x151 not long ago, the radio is fine, but this is not !)
