Excellent app for your Korean holiday if you know how to use it. You need to copy/paste the address in Korean for it to work, or just find your destination on the map. The route guidance in English works very well.
This is the ONLY GPS app I use. I absolutely rely on this app for work-EVERY DAY. I wish there was more customization with the Favorites Folders, and I want to be able to customize the advisories, to toggle them on and off, individually. I appreciate the helpfulness, but at times it can be TOO helpful - Sometimes, I just want it to shut up - I don't care to know where every Frequent Animal Crossing is. I would gladly pay, as long as it is not a subscription, if it meant more premium features.
The app is great but not always receptive to English writing. This usually means you just need to translate first so not a big deal unless your phone can't do that on the go.
For auto and motorcycle it' very good, but for bicycle it's very poor. Missing many paved/dedicated bike routes and bike navigation is, therefore, deeply flawed.
Very useful, a little difficult to navigate if foreign. However that's to be expected.
I would have given a 5, I guess it's to do with the update of information for example some of the places are not available on the map or that the shop closed months ago.
Great app to use to travel around Korea. It is not the oldest map app in Korea but the way the app runs is in some ways better than the other maps currently out there.
I love this app. It's UI is cleaner and more intuitive than the competition. It connects well to other apps. I also applaud the English language support which is great for tourists and expats. **But please include a faster toggle between English and Korean. Maybe in the maps settings filters. It's too deep in the settings, when asking for help from a Korean or showing the address to a taxi driver. Showing the address in both English and Korean would be helpful.**
I absolutely love the app. I find it more intuitive than Google maps and being able to see the buses move on the map in real time is amazing. I wish Kakao maps covered other countries! Some parts of the app (for example the notices) are still entirely in Korean, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5/5.
Works well if you know Korean but English translation and English recognition still needs lots of work. The navigation is very weak and inaccurate when indicating multiple floors or levels. Needs much better navigation guidance notification. Completely lacking accurate turn by turn navigation guidance for walking and it doesn't even have route recalculation feature. Lots of guessing.
Best cycling navigation app! Highly recommend for cyclists
Used this on my trip to korea. It was the first time I used the subways and busses there, but it was very convenient with this app. It even alerts you when it is time to get off and starts to remind from one station before your destination arrives. Thanks to this app i got to conveniently use the busses there without any problem
I have a note 9 and although this app was working fine all of a sudden it doesnt show the map properly. It will either be grayed out or be very zoomed out(even if you zoom in it doesnt give detailed map markers or show roads etc). It still locates me and gives me the directions to go places if i type it in but the map doesnt show. Please fix.
It's a real mess with a very partial english translation. It's slow, doesn't give much information and there is a lot of place that it doesn't find. Even so, it's stil' better than Line map (Which wasn't hard ...)
Generally a Google map user, but since Google map doesn't work well in Korea, I've downloaded both Naver maps and Kakao maps to aid my trip in Seoul, Incheon and Suwon. I found that Kakao map is the best and most accurate in general. However when following calculated routes it can get a bit confusing at times, e.g. arrow pointing in the wrong direction
Amazing, always as helpful as this to be
Mixed feelings about this app. I have set the language to English, but when I get the travelling instructions it shows the names in Korean, which doesn't help with station names or direction of transport. I have thus not used it. It however shows options when Google maps says it can't.
This app is really helpful! (thanks for the creator of this app) for all of the foreign people who will visit south korea, but their's one thing problem in this app, although its translated in english but the information of bus/subway is not translated in english this is the most important , i really hope you will fix this one cause you will help many foreign people to give a smooth flow in their vacation.
Navigation directions rendered and station names are correct. However, the app is not friendly for an individual who cannot read korean. I would suggest using other Apps that provide English context to navigate in Seoul for the moment until the language capability for this App is enhanced.
It's pretty amazing that this day in age 2019 Google Maps is still largely disfunctional in South Korea. Talk about a country that is so clueless about tourism and wonders why people still choose Japan first. KakaoMaps is sadly your best alternative but not surprising it's still no match for the quality and design Google Maps has.
Needs a little bit more English support. And above all else, it needs to stop searching for things on the opposite side of Korea. If I'm looking for EMarts in Busan, I don't want the map to jump to Pyeongyang. Would be nice if intercity and express buses had their times listed. Everything else is fairly functional.
Wow, the perfect app for travelling in South Korea! Saves a lot of time and hustle. The best feature is the alert feature which will tell you when to go off the bus as you go, this way you know both how much time you have and how much stations are left to go.
It's gotten better over the years and is probably the best map you can use in Korea to get from place to place. If touch anywhere you can usually find directions and detailed explanations about shops and how to get around. It has been helpful.
English is my 2nd language. Even if you choose the English Language is not fully on English it's partial. Is not tourist friendly and that's not welcoming. It's frustrating to navigate the app when you have no idea what you are clicking and looking. And if you are not a resident it's hard to add payment. Google maps still more helpful. I hope they open the doors more to visitors.
