Kana Draw (Hiragana Katakana)

Great app, it's been very helpful in helping me memorize both hiragana and katakana. The only improvement I would suggest is adding an option to have the romanji displayed with the corresponding character. It would help beginners link the correct sound with the correct character. Otherwise, a wonderful and surprisingly addictive app.

Nothing beats drawing by hand, but this is the next best thing. Kana Draw, combined with a flash card app, is a great way to learn Hiragana and Katakana. My only recommendation is that a few of the Hiragana symbols use a font more common with machines (text computers etc) vs what is taught for handwriting them (example SO in Hiragana). Maybe have traditional hand writing fonts as an available option.

I have just started learning Japanese in my off time. This has been key to memorizing the kana.

SCAM! I paid to have all levels unlocked but I still have to unlock the levels manually.

I love that I get a variety of kana to just run through. Not the same every time.

Love this app, I'm using it alongside duolingo and its super helpful for cementing the characters in my head

Exactly what I wanted and no glitches

Nice application to learn Japanese kana writing, but there's no quiz functionality, so I can not try to write kana without a hint. It would be great if you add such functionality - display only romaji reading and user needs to write kana by memory (without displaying kana contour on background), so application could say correct or not you write that kana.

Nice app to learn kanas *BUT* I find the drawing line tolerances to be all over the place... sometmes you are on the guide lines and it says you made a mistake, while at some other time you are 4-5mm off the guides and it accepts the input as valid. This messes up training and cause frustration because you start wondering "WHAT did I do wrong NOW, the highlighted error IS on the guide lines!!" Also, sometimes after an error it will register a touch and skip the info/retry section, skipping directly to the next kana I'll try this with a device using an s-pen to see if it is my stylus causing the tolerance issue, but I don't think so or every users using their fingers woulo have that same problem

Probably my favourite app for learning Japanese. Considering it teaches only symbols... Dope.

Very solid app

Such a helpful app in learning and memorizing the characters. Don't overlook the study set capability. You can make any sets that can help you focus on specific set on characters.

I thought the app was a bit lacking but I just had to adjust some settings. Its very good :)

Great app to learn kana. Not quite what I was looking for. I wanted to draw without being shown the outline. I haven't found an option to remove that and just be given the romaji

Super great, would be nice to have roomaji pronunciation in the bottom corner or something instead of just in the info page to help beginners memorise the pronunciation better. EDIT: All I had to do was click "show pronunciations" in the settings. All is good!

Using with a few other apps. Useful to have the katakana aswell as hiragana, since the others don't.

Decent app but it won't rotate to landscape mode. I have my device on autorotate for the orientation but the app still won't rotate.

Simple application but very well done really easy to use. I highly recommend

Please add a feature to sound out each character as you draw it.

When the draw its finished. The sound should appear as text.
