Audio quality is awful - it's nearly impossible to tell ka from a. UI is clunky, but ok. Constant nagging to rate the app. A lot of functionality is paid for(Katakana, N3 to N1 Kanji) and more expensive than other apps. Nice indication on how successful you are in remembering specific characters(based on how many mistakes you make).
This is a perfect app to learn kanji for me. I wish there was an easier way to learn the readings for the kanji though. Perhaps in the same way that the quiz is done for the meanings, just switch out the meanings for readings (maybe even separate the On and Kun readings so it's not as cluttered) and keep the writing element available. I'd definitely consider purchasing if this was available.
Great app quite standard for this type of learning app with some nice features to help learn some kanji and the kana. The sounds aren't clear and take a while to get what is being said and they don't explain kunyomi and onyomi to help new learners understand. And for the vocabulary section it's hard to learn the new words as it's hard to scroll through them all.
Very nice so far. The only glaringly obvious issue that I think should be fixed (The reason I'm only giving 4 stars) is that the pronunciation quality is very patchy and sometimes is clear and sometimes sound robotic and inhuman. It would be fantastic if they could provide real pronunciation from native speakers.
Really love this app! I've bought the Plus version - though it is slightly disappointing that 5 categories require unlocking with money - and this app is great for learning Japanese. I particularly love the Quiz and Vocab functions. For improvement, maybe there could be a test function where you have to write kanji without any guidelines?
Very good app for the price, a feature to transfer progress to another phone would be nice. It looks like the dev has become inactive so I don't know about future updates and support. Do note that only a small part of the app is free, the rest in behind a €15- paywall, which is a very good price for what you get.
User interface is super simple and easy to navigate. Includes teaching you how to write the kana/kanji which I find super useful. No obtrusive ads. Has quizes, tests, vocab etc. Covers all bases for methods of learning!
Without a paywall, it's a pretty good app for studying Hiragana. Katakana's locked and so are most Kanji, but for Hiragana alone it works. Customizing what to study however is locked behind posting a review, and those buttons don't work half of the time anyway. Also anytime you need to write multiple kana at once like "nyu" or "pya" it keeps loading forever until you exit and go back in. All in all, it's frustrating at times but it works. It is free.
I love this app so much to help me learn kana!! The only complaint I have is that the audio on the quizzes is kinda cut off a little so you cant really tell whats being said, other than that, Im obsessed and I use this everyday to help me practice, the upgrade is also worth it, in my opinion
I Have Not Yet Tried Out All the Features but with the Current Features I Believe That This App Will Be useful. The Speakers voices Are Clear and Easy to Understand Where the Accent Should Be Placed. Try It Out For Yourself. Very Orderly
It's pretty good n suits my learning style. None of those stupid encouraging and distracting messages and design of apps like Duolingo. It helps in memorizing kanji n words even in a paced way + it's minimalistic
No way to skip to higher levels. My Japanese is higher than the beginning levels, I don't want to waste my time writing 日 over and over.
Good so far, only issue is audio is hard to hear and cuts off at times or is too short.
This app is super good 👍. You should download it. At first I was like I don't want to download this app. I see this app everytime I open play store. So I said to myself to just try and download it. And it was the best idea ever! I really like how this app teaches Hiragana, Hatakana and kanji. If you want to learn the Japanese alphabet download this app please it's gonna help you. I wish I saw it before.
Pretty great. Smooth animations. Good UI. Quiz is pretty good way to revize.
It's a really good app. as someone who's still a beginner in Japanese, the app and the way it is set up, really helps me learn the kanji and cement it into my head.
Is incredible!! simply with this application I'm managing to learn Japanese much faster, I have a book in Japanese which I could not read, however, with this application I have been able to read it. I recommend it 100%, the truth is very effective
It forced me to rate in the first 12 seconds in order to be allowed to turn off audio tests so... I haven't seen anything good yet and I'm already annoyed, how can I give it a good rating?
Really good the only problem is with the quiz it takes a long time to put the answer in, instead you could put a keyboard there so u can type the anwser シ
Honestly an incredible tool for learning Japanese, even includes a way to practice writing hiragana and katakana which is really helpful to learn them faster.
Just started, UI looks good. Compact and simple design yet very nice. App looks great so far, we'll see more later.
The audios are horrible. You can get confused and they were recorded in a very low quality.
I tried many apps that would help with learning kanji and Japanese, but none of them were as effective as this. Thanks!
The app is awesome for learning JLPT based Kanji and Vocabulary! I would like to make a request for a reset button for progress. That would be helpful!
It's been great so far! Using it to test and see how far I've grown after learning the basic kana and kanji is a great feature!
So many ways to study kanjis'meaning, reading, etc. in various challenging ways. One of the best apps for studying Ihave tried so far.
I hope there were pronunciation or examples for kanji. And some reforms for studying before tests, especially for vocab! Btw the tests are great and really helped me👍🏼🙏🏼
When you try to do Kanji test and select the correct meaning for each Kanji, you cannot select anything. So there is no way to actually take the test.
Im happy with the amount of content the app has, though i wish most of it wasnt blocked by a pay wall. Otherwise its perfect
The interface is clean a well organized, and the app is feature packed with several test methods. The big issue that I have is with the character drawing tool, it is extemely unreliable since you need to draw the characters exactly like the outline. Several of the drawn characters have odd shapes that don't correlate to the actual characters (particularly the "u" character). And finally, there is no way to blindly test your writing (without the outline).
