I'm not sure what these other reviewers are on about, it works fine for me. You just have to make sure the lighting is decent and the whole kanji is in the box. I expect that this will be super useful in helping me work on my Japanese by translating manga.

Bugs bugs. Its spams out the app permissions page. And then when you open the app, it goes to its app settings even when you close and reopen it.

this app was constantly crashing on me and i couldnt even scan a single kanji.

Wouldn't even open
I found the smaller and larger settings unusable, but the middle setting did the trick most of the time if lighting was perfect. It still struggled if complex kanji were close together, but used in conjunction with a good dictionary, I found about 80% of what I was looking for.
