Kanopy for Android TV

This is the Android TV app. Some people are stating that it loads and freezes or the buttons don't work. That is probably because they installed this app on the phone/tablet. This app is for the TV only. FYI, there is a different Kanopy app for the phone/tablet. Anyway, Kanopy has a pretty good selection... and it's free. You can't beat that.

The app seems to be full of bugs. For example, I have roughly 90 items in my Watchlist, which I created on my PC. However, on my Android TV, only 3 items appear in my Watchlist, and only a very small number of films appear when I browse or search for content on the Android TV. The app is linked to my account and shows my memberships, and my memberships include unlimited access, but very little of the content that I am supposed to be able to view is actually accessible. Even on my PC, sometimes I am able to add films to my Watchlist and sometimes the button for adding something to my Watchlist never appears on any of the Web pages. Sometimes almost nothing appears when browsing or searching. The entire system seems to be very buggy and unreliable. It's a shame, because (in theory) there are some great films and series in the Kanopy collection, but most of it is inaccessible to me.

I'm not even able to download the app for my Smart TV, even though this website states it has been "installed" (it has not!). On the TV, the app says "pending..." whatever that means. Have spent hours trying to download and use the app. Very frustrating!

Entirely unresponsive. Kanpoy works great on my computer only. Great selection of documentaries and educational shows. Highly recommend there. POS app that is unresponsive in landscape mode.

Doesn't work at all! Online or via the app. I have a library card, I can find my library, but no matter what I try I can't create an account, I just keep getting error messages. It's worthless if you can't log in. I would give it a negative star if I could.

Installed this on my samsung android tablet. When I started it there are two buttons. One says get started and the other log in. Both buttons are unresponsive. I was using an older version of kanopy from about 2 years ago on my tablet that was working but I uninstalled it to try this one.

How do you get in touch with the people at canopy to tell them that they're free credit movies are taking up credits. Where is their contact information. You have to go back to the app store look at the app and at the bottom of the page. Let's see what they do They refunded the credits. The app doesn't work on my phone at all, I'm glad they have a website. I still can't link my AndroidTV up with kanopy. But I can cast it from my phone

At the moment i cant even use this app... It obviously has a big problem right now that the IT folks need to sort out... Used to work fine for my local Washington State library system in Thurston County... Now I upload it and it's frozen on the opening page and wont respond at all to any finger swipe,and doesn't rotate as I move my phone....Hello??? Anyone? (This has been an issue for weeks...any self-respecting company would've seen to this by now.....)

Good app, stable and with a decent UI. There are potential improvements that can be made... hopefully part of the roadmap.

Looks great on the Nvidia Shield TV, but needs a few tweaks. -No way to quickly rewind or fast forward -No currently playing section to get back to recent movies -No credit timer

Great concept, terrible app. Once the Home screen displays it freezes. Can't select anything or scroll the offerings. Useless app.

No trouble for me. Casting from phone to TV. I have it on my Android Media Box goes wonderfully. The only one I had trouble with was online on my TV through web brower. But hey....I have watched some great interesting things.

installed app on my android TV & got a message to put in a code. When I put the address in my url bar my computer insisted on putting the name of my library first. This gave me access to kanopy on my computer but no option to active my android code. I am at a loss of how to fix this

Stars for the idea, would be 5 if it worked. This app is totally unresponsive on my phone (pixel 3) and won't load to my tv at all.

App does work it freezes and you can't turn it off. You have to restart your phone

WARNING! THIS APP MAY BE A TRAP. THINKING IT WAS THE ONE MY LIBRARY RECOMMENDED, I INSTALLED IT AND IT IMMEDIATELY FROZE UP MY ANDROID PHONE. AND WHEN I RESTARTED MY PHONE TO GET IT TO WORK I HAD A LOCKED UP SYMBOL. I HAD TO USE MY PATTERN AND ALSO MY FINGERPRINT TO UNLOCK THE PHONE! BEFORE THAT HAPPENED, THE SUPPOSED HOMEPAGE OF CANOPY STUCK ON LANDSCAPE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND. BE CAREFUL, PEOPLE. THERE ARE TWO OF THESE AND THIS IS NOT THE ONE YOU WANT. CHOOSE THE ONE THAT HAS MORE REVIEWS.

This app is terrible doesn't recognise any libraries in my country or any other outside the US which is rubbish I can't even to begin to tell anyone about viewing wise as I can't get passed the sign up process just a really terrible app 😡

Just downloaded the app and it won't let me open anything. The app loads but it's like the screen is locked or frozen.

Attempted to link App with device and completely lost email account which cannot be recovered. No Kanopy either.

service is good, app is RUBBISH, a joke, can't even click on menu items. guys, please.
