HRV, paced breathing and cardiac coherenceWith Kardia+, you can practice heart rate variability (HRV) training through paced breathing. By breathing at a specific rate, around 5.5 cycles/min, your HRV increases and becomes regular. This state is known as cardiac coherence, or cardio-respiratory coherence. Many scientific studies have demonstrated that it has beneficial effects on stress and anxiety level, blood pressure, depression and sleep.

The best breathing rate is different for everyone. With Kardia, you can set very precisely the exercise frequency, so you will just need a few tries to find out the value that gives you the best results.

Great app, sound difference between inbreath and outbreath allows for closing the eyes. Would like to be able to program breath suspension times.

Needs some better sounds to become five star. And some tweaks in not going into. Great app otherwise, flawless!

Great app. I use it every day to prepare me for sleep and on occasion to calm raised heart rate.

Very useful. Great stress eliminator. New features regularly added. Amazing the impact just controlling your breathing for 5-6 minutes several times a day can have on your mood.

Amazing app for practicing cardiac coherence. Simple yet elegant and above all effective. Only suggestion is to add the possibility to shut the screen off. In fact, while it's nice to follow the graphic visualization and changing the parameters during the session, sometimes it'd be great just listening to the breathing rythm (e.g. commuting on public transportation). Once everything is set, keeping the screen on unnecessarily drains battery life.

Too limited - preferring 'Prana breath' app which has much more options.

Easily configurable and it offers good paced breathing features.

If binaural beats and white noise were added this would be the only app. one would need. Each of them could be used in combination or separately. The best examples of binaural apps. are Binaural Beat Builder and Brainwave Studio. White Noise has a selection of different sounds. This would be the grand app. for breathing, meditation, sleep and lucid dreaming. As it is, I use three different apps. at the same time.
