As she follows a trail of clues he left behind, questions emerge… What was Joseph Rain really looking for that night all those years ago? What turned him into a mere shell of a man, confined to a wheelchair? What secret did a suicidal young artist take with her to the grave, and why are so many people in Conwell Springs going mad? Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT game. The storyline, characters, and voice acting are incredible. Although there were times I found myself stuck, there were many different avenues to take in order to find the correct path that don't give away too much. You don't want games like this being too easy, but it's not impossible to discover what you need to progress. I even really liked the fact that the creators of the game blocked-out useless, previously explored, or used items and areas.

What an interesting story! It takes a second to get beyond the "mundane" beginning, but it does well setting up the characters' personalities and setting the tone, so that when the craziness starts happening you're equipped to handle it. Gameplay-wise, it's intuitive with touch controls, hunting and picking for things to do and what-goes-with-what. You can hold the screen for interaction hints. My only disappointment with the game is that it's much more linear than their other game Whispers of a Machine, but since this game came first that's fine. Both games were really fun and I think I'll be getting the rest of their catalog!

I haven't been this engrossed in an adventure game in a long time. It really brings back the classic adventure games, with a deep and engaging story. The puzzles are just right in terms of difficulty and they fit in the game world well. Great stuff, and I hope there is a sequel coming. Also, the pixelated style is a throwback to LucasArts. It works just like it used to - by keeping you focused on the plot.

Yeah loved it! Every aspect of this game has been made with care. The characters are better concieved and performed than some AAA titles. Really good job. Missed a bit of dialogue due to accidentally tapping my screen, which was a shame as I was invested in the story. Might be worth putting in a "next" button rather than tap anywhere but, in all other areas, great job. Will definitely purchase the sequel.

A great game! I've been playing these kinds of games for a long time. I must admit I definitely head to use a walkthrough a few times. Characters are great. Storyline is excellent. BUT save your game! If my tablet "goes to sleep" I have to to reload the game everytime and it loses your progress. Autosave isn't that great.

Great title with an interesting story, great writing, and surreal visuals. This game was an imaginative treat. Initially the writing for the main character was pretty loose-footed and cliché, but the character really fills out and the entire game gets much more intriguing. I definitely would recommend this game even to someone unfamiliar with the point and click genre because of the depth of the story and visuals, paired with intuitive controls.

All over a pretty decent game. Background artwork and voice acting are top notch, and the music really adds atmosphere. I found the puzzles a good deal less challenging than the original adventure games of the Monkey Island era and felt in some instances that the internal dialogue of the protagonist would sometimes give too much of a hint to the answer. Story line was interesting but very angsty - maybe I'm just getting old :D Really enjoyed being a little creeped out in parts.

An incredible experience; easily one of the best P&C Adventure games ever made. From the well-written characters, to the music, graphics and overall atmosphere, reminiscent of Twin Peaks. Not to mention the flawless voice acting and the intriguing story. Kathy Rain is definitely a must-play, and I truly recommend it to everyone.

Great old-school point and click adventure game that wears its inspirations on its sleeve. Great writing, engaging characters, satisfying puzzles, great art and music and loads of atmosphere as you solve a Twin Peaksy small-town mystery. Of all the "new" Lucasarts/Sierra inspired adventure games I've played, this one does the best job of recapturing the magic.

This game is very well-made. The retro graphics, the animation, the music, the voice-acting, the puzzles, the game mechanics: all first rate. I failed to notice, however, it is Rated M. The foul language and the creepy, twisted storyline don't take full effect until more than halfway through so I was completely taken by surprise. That said, I was compelled to finish it, but I'm glad I didn't play it at night.

Great point and click game. Styled after old school point and click games it is fairly straightforward. I only got stuck twice and I'm pretty bad at point and click games. Also be warned that it starts off realistically then veers toward the supernatural if you're put off by that (think Twin Peaks). It's got awesome wit and good pace. I grew up with games like Broken Sword and Lucas Arts PaC adventures, and this will definitely scratch that itch.

An intriguing game, very well put together. The mystery element is compelling even if we never quite learn what the hell is going on! Downsides are: narrow aspect ratio, and a dependence on dialogue rather than actions to progress in the game. Enjoyable.

Solid game. Didn't care for the main character tough girl style. Was too over the top but towards the end she became a bit more down to earth. Would be a nice series to play for those in tween times ya know. Puzzles were classic and made sense and story was pretty straight up with some paranormal type things going on. I mean it always creepy when one has to face themselves🕳️

Great game! considering the storyline, I'm pleasantly surprised it comes off as unpreach-y as it does! i took off a star due to, mainly, a bug on the doctored file (i'm trying not to spoil). if you try to do a test run before actually using it, the starting place gets messed up and you can't even tell until you try using it as it was intended. then it's a bummer trying to fix that. maybe its not necessary, and it'll work if you just let it run its course, but it bugged me (bad pun).

Dealt with some heavy subject matter for sure. At first it can seem kinda boring but once it picked up I had to finish it straight through. A lot of it was confusing to be honest and there's no hint button so I had to consult a walk-through several times but, overall I think it was a good game that had a lot of work put into it.

Good story but the ending was a bit anti climatic and vague. There are so many unanswered questions since the plot points are not clear. But the game is enjoyable, great gameplay and graphics, loved the puzzles and Easter eggs.

Deeply immersive point + click adventure. Reminds me that well designed lofi pixels can evoke a fun sense of adventure and also why I started playing games in the first place. You play as inquisitive Kathy, trying to find clues about mysterious events in her childhood hometown. Some of the puzzles really push you to think outside the box and it's rewarding due to the mental stretch. The characterisation and multiple voice actors are also really impressive. Exceptional value for money, love it!

This is a very slow game. In fact, it's less of a game and more of a TV mini-series. It feels like watching a TV show - watching the detectives find more clues and uncover the mystery. This makes the game play itself a secondary part of the narrative. You spend more time just moving around and watching people talk. The game's flow is more like real life where you don't have just one path to follow all the time. For instance, if you want to know about something, you may have to ask 5 different people before you actually get the information. It is understandable why this might get frustrating for most people. In some parts, the puzzles can be quite contrived. I was so into the story that I just couldn't bear the wait involved in figuring it out. So towards the end, I started using a walkthrough. Nevertheless, it was a very satisfying experience. It's a very different kind of a game. It actually feels like solving a mystery rather than just solving a series of puzzles. You'll either love it, or hate (as evidenced from the series of one star and five star reviews).

A decent game with an interesting story. The file manager could use a touch up though. I had a saved game file and auto saved game file, after several hours of play I was quite far along but forgot to manually save. The next time I opened the game I accidentally hit new game and the auto saved progress was gone!

A thrilling and well voiced point n click adventure game with the same quality narrative as the brilliant Blackwell series and Cognition: Erica Reed thriller. Puzzle solving challenge is perfectly balanced in logic, with just enough brainwork needed to avoid a lull in progress. An engaging rebeluous protagonist (kinda like Jessica Jones attitude). Some dark humour and very intense in the final act. Highly recommended and one to remember.

Love it so far! I wish it was optimized for wider screens, though. Or at least moving the buttons to the side of the "TV screen" area would be great. Also, all new phones have cutouts or notches, & this game is not optimized for that
