This app was instrumental in helping us find things to do and then get us there easily and accurately. It never lead us astray once. It integrates seemlessly with Google maps and navigation. We'll be getting this app for any other islands we visit in the future.
Great app. GPS positions helped us to easily find things like the Queen's Pond etc. Very helpful tips for nightlife, beaches, and dining. App interface itself looks a bit dated but is very functional and fast! Would buy again.
My one request: instead of editions of the app you should make this a single app that offers in-app purchase for content of future editions. That way you don't lose your install base and force a migration path every time.

I have bought 2 past updated editions of this book and now the download version. Every version is great reading and full of information. Well worth the cost.

My wife and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon. We got the book before, which was fun because we could book mark parts that we liked, then the other could read it at there convenience. That made the process go smoothly. Id recommend both! We purchased the app when we arrived to take advantage of the very intuitive and handy map. DONT CHEAP OUT HERE! Both the app and the book will make your kauai stay so much better! Your only other option is to read hours and hours of trip advisor or yelp reviews save time and get accurate non bias information!!
We used the app every day. We marked favorites for the days excursions. The app made it easy to locate sights beaches and places to eat. Reviews for places were spot on. Highly recommended.
We used the Maui version and loved it. Now using Kaui as well. App is very user friendly. Easier than carrying a book.
The guide information is up to date and clearly conveyed. They also post notices of news and events often. This is a great service! Buy if you are visiting Kauai.
Don't go on vacation without doing a little homework first. Plus if you read it long enough, study the maps a little bit, you'll find everything easier, and know your way around much much better.
Must have travel app
We love the book & the app has totally replaced the book & works great for us. We first came to Kauai in 2004 for our honeymoon & the book added so much to our trip... Let's face it... Us So Cal people would have never tried Hamura Saimin if we didn't read it in the book. We've been back 7 times in the last 11 yrs & always brought our book. The app is easy & complete!
Fantastic. Works so well love the integrated directions to all waterfalls etc. I use the favorites all the time. It's 10x better than the book because it's interactive. Feature request make a community out of all app users so they can all see what sites are most favorites etc.

Everything is spot on! Easy to use and saves you valuable vacation time. A must have!
Honesty and accurate
We stayed in Kauai for three weeks this past Jan to Feb and there was not a day we did not use this app. We used it for restaurants, boat trips, helicopter trips, hiking, events, you name it, we used it. It never crashed or led us astray. While other tourists were observing we were engaging. Well done, with one exception, we wished it could list search results by name in addition to proximity.
I have been to Kauai 3 times now, and every time I make sure to have this app and update it. Talk about great information. It's been pretty much on point too. Interface isn't awkward, it's pretty basic without a bunch of nonsense. I recommend it for anyone going to any of the islands (there's one for each of the main islands of Hawaii). If nothing more, it's a very handy tool to scrub through to find places to eat, attractions to see, make sure a beach will suit your needs, or get info on resorts, and it will be in your pocket.
