KCCI 8 News and Weather

I love the app or tell me if it's going to rian or if there is going to be a tornado. So the reason I give this app 5/5 is because it always has good news and keeps me up on the weather or what is going on in our world today and every hour more like every minute I get a new notification on my phone which I like a lot.

Keeps telling me something went wrong and I've been trying to use it for tornado info all day and can't get it to work!

Just updated it today and have had issues already with the app. Can't even view my interactive radar and keeps kicking me out of articles while I'm in the middle of reading them. Wish the news articles would also be updated on a daily basis as reading the same thing over and over doesn't work for getting the best and most up to date news. Love KCCI but have been thinking about switching to a news source that is actually up to date on the news and not 2 weeks late as it is on here.

I am continually having to enter the settings I want for the weather radar map every time I open it up. It used to remember my settings and when I pushed the "view interactive radar" button it would open up like I left it with my settings the way I left it. Not anymore though. Also, when I press on an article to read it and then press the back button it takes you clear back to the beginning of the news feed. I must then scroll through all the articles to get to where I left off. Very annoying!!

Interactive radar is great except it's delay time is 8 minutes. Old news stays on app for weeks, as though old articles never get removed and replaced with new ones. Take off old news and save the space. It's a waste of space. News is not updated during the weekends very much. Biggest complaint: news from weeks if not months ago still on app.

I wish you'd update the stories and weather on the app. The pictures at the bottom of your app have been there since last year. And the "live" weather is the 9oclock weather. We'd like the 10oclock weather. Also, take the ribbon of the bottom of the screen in bed weather. We can't see the bottom counties. thank you

Minimized app notifications, still get harassed by trash. Set notifications to only about national news and weather. Get a notification about whether mastering a game called Wordle makes me better than other people. Are you effing kidding me?! Without any respect for my wishes, delete!

I really like KCCI's weather forecast and radar and it was great on the Storm Team 8 app becuase it was solely a weather app. Since they are no longer supporting that app I am forced to use this one if I want to continue to get weather updates from them. I find the weather info on this app clunky to access compared to the previous app, and need to scroll through the news and advertisements before I get to the weather. Extended forecast is also not as detailed (moon phase, sunrise/sunset time).

This app is intended to replace the stand-alone weather app as others have said. It's a wall of text not intuitively laid out, and also not apparently cleaned out of old stories. I'll switch to another provider.

Absolutely an awful app. I need a local weather app that is separate from the news. There are less weather controls in which I need. The only news app I need is breaking news and emergency alerts! Do KCCI and your listening audience a favor, go back to the old apps!

You can find links to stories here, and that's OK, but BEWARE THE LIVE STREAM BUTTON! The last time I clicked it, it made me watch seven (7!!!) ads, and then wait through 15 seconds of silent black screen -- nearly 2 minutes -- before it actually showed the live stream. That makes the feature worse than useless.

App works well for what it is, but I hate that KCCI got rid of just their weather app. I miss having the weather banner on my lock screen and being able to check the weather in the app in just a few clicks and not having to navigate through news and other tabs.

I enjoy the app. I do not enjoy the loud notification. Especially late at night. I tried to silent notifications and it goes back to default immediately. I have to uninstall until I know that is fixed. This app has woke me up too many times

The app isn't working right. When you click on video newscast you can't return to the original site page. When you launch the app again, it is still stuck on the same video you last watched.

get weather alerts 2 to 3 days after alert. Alerts are over before receive alerts. News is old. There are articles that have been there since last year. Weather radar shows radar from 3 hours late. Weather radar not current.

Mostly a great news app. One flaw that prevents a 5 star rating: when a new notification comes in, it replaces any old notification. So you can't leave a notification to select later as it will disappear if something new comes in.

I like being able to get my news n weather but I hate the fact that every time I open my phone, I have an advertisement or if I click on one of my other apps, another advertisement flashes. It's annoying and uninstalled the app.

Too many CNN stories. Local news is good.

I'm sorry, but the old weather app was way better. This one needs major work, and it hardly works. Switching to the competitor until I see improvements.

Disappointed they are removing the Storm Team 8 weather app and replacing it with this. I'm not interested having to click through news stories, just wanted a quick way to check the radar... which this is not.

Terrible notification options, if I want to be notified about severe weather I also have to get stupid high school sports notifications. Poorly written articles with multiple, obvious writing errors anyone who passes high school English shouldn't make. Uninstalling.

I want the old weather app. It was so much more functional. The radar was better on it as well. With severe weather season just around the corner I beg you to get then the apps back

Nice but won't you exit. "Back" is not available once you go to watch the live stream. Only way to get out is to use your phone's "close all" option to force close.
