the app is great, I love the on demand feature, but what I'm generally hoping to use the app for is to listen live, and more often than not, the app will not stream, I'd like to think the app is buffering, though it won't steam at all some days, even after numerous app restarts and "re-bufferring." app is great when successfully streaming though.
Pretty glitchy. This app is actually pretty poor. It does not work nearly as well as the KPPC app. The sleep timer hardly works in any sort of reliable fashion. The app shuts off periodically for a no really discernible reason. Honestly, I find it a whole lot easier to just simply go online and use the browser.
Is the signal drops randomly. Sometimes the audio will continue after a few seconds and sometimes the app turns itself off. This does not happen with other public radio apps.
KCLU is awesome and this app works well most of the time. It's difficult for me to know if the app has bugs or my internet connection isn't working when the app has issues.
Great for listening to different podcasts or present programs.
Runs very smoothly; set up is logisticall & easy to use
good not great I can stream the new live, for that I am grateful. It does not work as well as most npr streaming apps as ot stops to leload every now and again, leaving mith dead air while my hands are otherwise occupied.
I find it very frustrating that the app often stops and buffers, then takes too long to restart... or doesn't until I fuss with it.
I like the fact that I can listen to kclu on my phone but I have to get used to the fact that the app quits or stops broadcasting often.
Love the programs but the app always stays open and you have to close it all the time. Had to remove it.
Very poor connective stability - constantantly drops audio and must be manually rebooted. Very annoying!
Recently the app stops working. I have to go in and unpause it. This didn't happen initially
I listen to KCLU 5-6 mornings and always in the car. That's for at least the last 20 years, probably much longer.
Easy to stream live which is mainly what I do. I like that it is a simple one touch once app is open
When I start using it, it works for a few minutes then it'll go out for five or more minutes and then come back. It will do that all day if I keep it on.
I've been having issues with NPR's app stopping mid story but the KCLU app has been great everytime.
I use it everyday. However it drops out a lot. That's frustrating.
It's good for news, not a talking head radio station.
A wonderful station that is keeping us informed locally and entertained.
Convenient. NPR talk radio. Local news focus on Santa Barbara, not much about Santa Maria or SLO, although they say they cover tri-counties, they don't. No music, BBC overnight gets four stars.
the app stops and starts streaming at random intervals
Works pretty consistently but crashes now and again.
The only way to hear NPR in SB! Great app.
This app gives great access to the programming at KCLU!
Very good well balanced from BOTH sides
Idk what I'd do without this app! And yes, we are sustaining members 😁
App closes or just stops for no reason.
satisfying to no end.
Keeps cutting out.
This app solved a problem for me. I would arrive home from a drive, fully engaged in a program story line, and have to miss the end of it if I turned off the motor. I found this app, and now I turn it on if I am in and out on errands, or going into the house. The app has a short delay and plays a few seconds after the radio. I don't miss a word. I am so happy to have found the app. I will say, I tried to use it to donate on the last drive, and was unsuccessful. That part needed work.
