KCRA 3 News and Weather

Informative and potentially useful app apart from the ads...WAY too many...hence my rating reduced from 5 stars to 2. There's really no excuse for this...I'm sure KCRA makes plenty of money from its on-air ads, enough to back off from the glut of ads in this app. Disappointing! I seldom use this app!

PLEASE FIX THE APP - App hasn't worked for some time now not sure why keeps saying connection issue refresh or try again later even uninstalled & reinstalled the app & still doesn't work 🤔 **update** app seems to only work on Wi-Fi

This app is frustrating because I can't keep it running. I don't think it's a problem on my end because I stream other apps without any problems. This one is constantly buffering or freezing up. Sometimes it comes back but most of the time you get an error message. I usually get frustrated and end up listening to music or some other service. I hope this gets fixed because I do like their news.

When it first came out it was great for watching local news..NOW it's only good if you like watching the same commercials over and over..Useless for streaming news! Not a problem there are several other news stations available. I was a faithful TV viewer for years. Can't say I didn't try...

I get so frustrated when many of the stories are not updated. I see the same stories weeks after they've happened and there's never an update! Also I get a many alerts - breaking news - that are stories that have been on the app for days. Get it together!!!!! 🤢

great to keep up on the weather and traffic. use it several times a day especially for it's future cast live Doppler radar feature. has good performance as long as you have a semi decent phone, I've got an octa core processor and 6 gigs of RAM, anything under 2g ram with 1 or 2 core processor will struggle/fail like AT&T radiant core 304A... which was inspired by the brands model, do little as possible and shorten users lifespans through stress and depression tactics,BOOM#GOTYOUBUSINESSDADDY!

After the first time I used it (to watch the 5pm news), it just sat there and would not let me close it so I had to reboot. I tried installing it again, but the same thing happened. Once I started the app and maximized the screen, it would not let me out of the app. The programmer forgot to put a restore/minimize bottom.

Ads ads ADS. Gotta watch a 30 second ad to watch a 10 second video at times. KCRA stands for keep commercials readily available. You'll get a notification with a news headline, click to watch the story, sit though a 30 second ad, and then the video linked is just the rundown of news stories for the day with NOTHING about the story in the notification. I love KCRA but I'm uninstalling the app.

Worst live stream news app ever. The advertisements that make money always work. The actual delivery of the news you want to watch is completely unreliable. Better off just reading online from another news source. Much quicker, convenient, and more reliable. Sad this is the case in this age of technology.

I find that the information on this app is sometimes not updated as one would hope. Some sections have the same 'old' information shown for weeks at a time without any changes yet watching live I can clearly see that new activity is taking place. Please update all content as its been reported regularly so those of us who aren't always able to get the news by watching live can still get it by use of this app. Otherwise, I have no real need for this app.

Sometimes the live reports are a little slow with loading, but overall pretty happy woth this app. Before I wouldn't have anytime to keep up with the news-with kids that happens. Now I can at least glance at it at times & sometimes read the articles in the middle of the night.

Although this app a good cuz it allows you to watch a full episode of the news, it has multiple commercials(sometimes every min literally), most u cant skip, some can be almost a min long and often it'll freeze n not continue but if u exit out then go back it only starts from the beginning 😵

The app has sponsored content disguised as news articles....on a news app! The "sponsored content" warning is easily missed and since our memories are far from perfect, how many people do you think might look back later and remember the "headline" for an ad, forgetting it wasn't actually news? Kind of irresponsible advertising for a news app.

90% hype and ads - the rest is obscure and outdated - promised items missing or hard to find. Surprising that a respected broadcast company would stoop to such antics - and constantly hyping the same on their newscasts. KCRA has a very competent weather staff, but finding anything on their app is a study in frustration. A smart phone app approach using the old "talk fast and don't take 'no' for an answer... .. .

Good app. Too many notifications for just any type of story. Some need alerts about the feel good stories, i just need the ones that could impact my day. Wish this was adjustable.

Right now its 5:30 PM and they are streaming the morning news. This, showing hours old news shows, happens not on every show....but out of a week's worth of news shows...80 to 90%. Not exaggerating and I'm probably low on the percentage. Sent msgs daily reporting the problem, nothing is done or has changed. 2 months later and nothing has been fixed. Wanting to hear the NOON news about the latest school shooting near LA and after trying 10+ times to get the NOON news I only get the 7AM News.

too many ads, but excellent news coverage

As a reporter myself I can tell you I have found the KCRA app to be very thorough and easy-to-navigate not to mention quick with breaking news. If I'm being honest, push messages with older stories are a bit of a distraction but I have yet to receive one that wasn't actually a good story so I'm willing to overlook it.

Recently the Chromecast Option stopped working and has been a pain. There are a lot of commercials. But I like them overall.

I am so tired of this app!! I have watched KCRA news since I was born! It was always on in our house in morning. So dissapointed. I will get news for 5 minutes then it goes black screen. Have to reboot continuously to watch the same long ad and hope I get another 5 minutes of news. So dissapointed. Please fix this!!!!

I like it. you can choose what notifications you get from the app only thing bugging me is that it somehow lost its original notification sounds.

Freezes frequently and commercials play constantly. Sometimes the commercials get stuck on a loop and repeat until you restart the app.

Decent news app that keeps you updated on what's going on. My only complaint that it is loaded with Ad's. They are literally on story you click on. Every video, watch an Ad first.

Not Chromecasting?? Attempted several times to Chromecast and although has the little icon, will not connect.... Just the loading circle. Please fix !

Lousy excuse for a news app. I have had it over a week and have still not seen more than a minute or two of news, though I have seen a whole bunch of commercials...they're on loop while the news is not. It should be called the KCRA commercials app.
