KCTV5 - Kansas City News

This app has become worthless. It does not open to the selected story from my notifications. In order to find what caught my attention, I have to remember the key words and search. My wife is on the iOS platform and has issues with that version as well. The weather no longer opens for her. She reinstalled it to no avail. On top of that, you have to click off a full-page ad to see whatever story does open. Very disappointing.

Horrible new format. I have been using this for years and now I'm done with it. I can't easily view the weather the newest stories are no longer on top and it won't even open the correct story off and on. Sorry but not worth the frustration.

I use this app every day to check out local news and weather. With the new format when you open it and click on weather there is nothing in the forecast page to show estimated snowfall totals. I kept looking and found that if I went to the contact page at bottom was a 7 day forecast link where I could find this information. Really, the contact page???

The new design is more clean. But in the weather section, the white text on pale lilac-gray background is difficult to read, especially for those with sight difficulties.

I don't like this new version of the KCTV 5 app. Also, not too thrilled about the ad that pops up when you click on this news app. Thinking about deleting it.

Now that this app plays audio advertising, which can't be silenced, upon app startup, I will be deleting the app and not using it anymore. How can I read news in the night without waking others? Now I can't.

So I can no longer share your articles via text message or email? Why would you prevent us from spreading your news stories?

Went from being my favorite KC news app to my least favorite with one update. The last version was well organized and easy to navigate. This version has stories scrambled all over the place. I have never reviewed an app but this one is so bad I had to.

I appreciate the great news coverage, especially local news. Its why I switched to the KCTV5 app. The "other" local station app I installed didnt have hardly any local coverage. Very few ads, great weather accuracy. Install THIS news app. Much better than the "other" prominent local news app

Hate the new app. All I want is the simple layout of the original weather app. I dont want to have to click through a bunch of stuff to get to the 7 day forecast or in this case the 10 day which is not as easy to see the overall forecast for the week as it previously was. I use to only use this app for my weather because the other ones so called improved there app also. Oh well I will be uninstalling both kctv5 apps from my phone and looking for a more simplified one like this one use to be.

The app was constantly crashing. The alerts that we're sent to my phone never attached to the story. The app would suddenly stop working. It was more of a burden than it was informative. I wouldn't recommend.

I started using their stand-alone weather app, but was told it had migrated into their new "news" app. I have been getting non-stop notification pop-ups ever since, even after I de-selected every single option available. Instead I get force-fed their "newsfeed", like National Enquirer-quality sensationalism and Kangaroo Court reporting. So done.

Ever since they updated/ changed the lay out for this app it has been TERRIBLE!! This app use to be very informative but not anymore! If you click on a story to read about, you'll be lucky if you get more than a blank white screen.

Latest update won't install on Android 7 and the old app no longer works. I'm not going to replace a perfectly good tablet because someone at KCTV5 is too incompetent to make the app backward compatible. Goodbye TV5 and hello channel 9.

I like the look and navigation of the old app. If it's not broken don't fix it.

Very informative & fast showing info

Dont like at all. Emails all day long. Just want my old weather app that only showed weather, radar, school closings etc. Was also able to look at weather where my kids are as well as other family out of state.

I enjoy this app because i can read about things that is happen in my home town. I live somewhere else but i know what going on in Kansas City.. I can check out what going with my home team the Chiefs, Go Chiefs Go, and the other teams there. i alway check the weather to see how cold is there. This app is right on for me. It pretty much let me check out a lot of news that i can't get here many a friend from school have passed away or a family member. it always somethings that get my attention.

I don't know what has happened it changed & it's be sorry got to uninstall it's a shame I like kctv5news do something I'll come back

Backwards move by this station. It's hard to get to the weather without having to be bombarded by an outstanding amount of ads. I will go elsewhere for my radar updates. What a shame.

You did away with the weather app and made it tough to get to radar. I have to push too many links to get there now. I live in the sticks and rely on a quick glance to see what is headed my way. I have now downloaded a radar app to replace you.

What did you do to the on time traffic?! Why are there little cartoons blocking the streets. I use this for work travel everyday but this is horrible! I need something that i can pull up quickly & efficiently. This is not that.

What happened to the on time traffic map? This new thing powered by Waze is a joke. Simple lines of green, yellow and red make for a quick route guide. This thing is covered with little cartoons & only displays major highways. I relied on being able to view Red Bridge and Bannister if 435 was backed up.

It takes to long to upload! Then when trying to watch a short video you have long commercials. Might as well watch the news cast with 15 commercials.

I just downloaded and installed the app. When I hit open I got a message that the app and stopped working and then it's in a never-ending Loop

I watch TV5 news and weather every day beginning at 4pm. very good but to me, too many times with weather during news. need more sports news during 4&5 news. Gary is great .He is very thorough.

doesnt work worth a ****. dowloaded. watched 17 ads and then found a screen that said we will be right back. never once watched the news. yikes.....worthless.

I liked the old app better. I didn't have to search th eh u headlines to get the radar or the 7 day forecast. I want my KCTV5 weather only app again, I didn't ask for this update
