The app is a piece of 💩!!!! It used to work and no longer does. Continually says the AC is offline. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, unplugged the unit, used the reset switch, rebooted my router and still nothing. All my other devices connect to my router without issue. Contacting Sears support is a joke too - no wonder all the stores are closing...the majority of "techs" had no clue what to do!! One even told me they don't offer technical support....clearly!! AVOID SEARS!!
My app used to work for the first six months (changing temperature, modes of efficiency/vacation mode)of owning it, now will only allow me to change the water temperature and not changing efficiency/vacation modes "unable to varify". I turned power off/reset my WiFi/uninstalled/reinstalled the app and still nothing on both my/husband's apps. I contacted Kenmore support email/phone and they originally responded asking specific questions but then never followed through. Ridiculous!
When buying a room air conditioner I wanted something I could easily use turn on and off with my phone. The app work great at first until now. Keep getting a network error. I tried to uninstalling and reinstalling the app but get the same message. So frustrating!!! Have no idea how to fix!!!
UPDATE...Has worked well recently but a couple of weeks ago it will not control either of my ACs. Wi-Fi light is lit and I have a connection but app is unresponsive. PLEASE FIX...AGAIN. Had worked fairly good for years but all of the sudden when you open the app, it crashes right away. Sent feedback. Please fix!
Update 3/24/2022: This app has been working consistently for the last 4 months. That being said, our refrigerator/freezer quit chilling yesterday and the app shows that everything is fine and the temperatures remain at the settings. I'm not sure how alerting me to door openings works for me when I don't receive any alert that the temperatures have exceeded the settings. Original post from August 2020: Works occasionally
Stopped letting me view inside my refrigerator and snap picture. Alerts you 10 mins later your fridge was open or n is open. The camera was working up to July 3. Wifi is on and it is connected. But camera stopped. Changed to 1 star. It disconnects more then on. Says wifi on smart grid connected but app is off line. Please fix ur app. Not even half the features work
Goes weeks and months without connecting. Wifi light on AC is not lit most of the time. The application won't let me remove the AC unit and re-install. Garbage tech. That's it for kenmore in my book. The air conditioner itself is fine, but don't claim an air conditioner is smart when it won't connect to the wifi that runs everything else in my home perfectly.
The app does not work. It is more than 3 days I have downloaded the app and trying to register to be able to login. It keeps asking for email verification but never send one for my verification. I keep resending verification email but never got one. BTW I checked spam as well. I wrote email to support team never heard back.
I don't know what happened but the app won't connect to my wifi. IT SUX. I think there was an update bc all of a sudden I can't get it to connect to my WIFI. And if course no one will help me. If I could give less that 1 star I would give it a - 10 right now.
It doesn't let me sign in. It keeps saying "email sent" for activation but I don't receive any emails. I signed with Amazon, then added the fridge. It says appliance added but it doesn't show any appliance on the home page. The fridge shows it did get connected to wifi.
This app doesn't work anymore. I would have issues with my ac unit connecting and I would be able to uninstall the unit in the app and re install it and then it would work. Now that isn't even working.
App absolutely will not connect to my AC anymore at all. Old app worked great for like 2 years and this one can't find the appliance or my wifi at all. Totally worthless app. Give us back the old app.
Everyone switch to Amazon login to get app working again. App could work entirely closed lan, but no it has to connect to Kenmore/Sears which may not be around or able to keep servers up, so now were not going to have access to our appliances.
Beware, don't download. They don't opt out of cookies. They just want to sell your information. Horrible company, The app is horrible also. Whenever you unplug your system and plug it back in, it doesn't like to connect. These software engineers suck
Stopped connecting with my Kenmore Elite AC awhile back. Tried deleting account, resetting internet, reinstalled the app and so on and so on. Worked great when I first started using it over a year ago but not anymore.
Can't even make an account. I keep running into a problem called service error. Tried to see if I had to scan a qr code, agree to the terms of service, but nothing helped
I purchased and received my refrigerator yesterday. I download and completed the steps to connect my refrigerator. the app says connected and ask me to name the appliance (which i did) however the appliance never shows up in my app.
More often than not the app doesn't work. We need to use the remote that came with the air conditioner. Editing to say it hasn't worked in weeks and no updates available 5/11/22
Can't add my washer. When I scan the QR code, it just goes back one screen asking me to scan again. Useless.
Update a year later: App refuses to connect appliances to the 2.4GHZ network even though my phone is connected to said network. After attempts to remove the appliances and add them back - they are linked to a new account but refuse to connect to wifi. App is garbage and needs some serious QA. My appliances went offline over a month ago - even though nothing changed with my network. Someone should start a class action against Kenmore for selling smart appliances, and not upholding the functionality sold to consumers at an inflated cost. update 4/2021 The app has somehow gotten worse in the year I've owned this washer and dryer. The app won't update the time zone on the appliance, it tells me I'm not connected to the internet when I am, it has 404 fails constantly and I can't even get to my account because of this. I swear if I had the time and resources, I'd sue kenmore for false advertising. This app needs a new dev team and some actual QA. Spending $3k on a washer dryer should get a better user experience.
Doesn't send verification email. Waited 2 hours. Tried 5 times. Totally annoying with 10 step idiotic login. If it ever does work I expect it will be even worse. Bad design. Bad concept. Ready for a useless future? Load this dumb app.
Had this ac connected for years and all of a sudden now it refuses to work, the app says it can't connect but the ac says it is connected...
Both of mine Kenmore AC are no longer working via App. The App not working after recent update. Can you please add LGs ThinQ options.
The app seems to be doing better... after deleting & adding my washer twice → the washer seems to be working properly now through the app. Thanks for fixing the bug!
Can't add any appliances because the applications crashes. Dryer disconnects from the connect smart service every two days so I have to try and re-add it. The app has tons of bugs and they seem to just get worse with time.
Pro: the app works well for notifying when washer and dryer are done with their cycles. Cons: -Washer and dryer are disconnected from app every once in a while and need to be connected again. Very inconvenient. -"Remote start" has to be enabled on the washer/ dryer every time. Otherwise it's not possible to remote start the washer/ dryer once I forget and walk away already. What's the point of having a smart app & appliance? -Limited function on the app. I could only use it for notifications.
TERRIBLE! The app won't even let us in... keeps saying that it has a bug & to update it, there is no option to update on the app store. HELP, we want to get full use of our fridge.
I cannot even add my washer and dryer back in. I removed them because it was saying offline but they should not be. Now the app will not let me add them back I'm. Just crashes. My dryer stops in the middle of a cycle now. The app amd product is garbage only had them for 2 years. Ridiculous
Stopped working my device says it's registered but won't show up in my list, I can't unregister it to redo it.
Edit: 5/5/2022 now it doesn't work at all, for about 2 weeks Edit: 7/9/2021 this hasn't worked well in a long time, 3/4 of the time it won't connect to the air conditioner at all.. I love being able to control the air conditoner with my phone since it is around the corner from remote line of sight. It works more than it doesn't so all in all a great app. Now if I could only control it with Alexa we would be set.
