KENWOOD Smartphone Control
* In order to connect the Android device to the KENWOOD Multimedia / Navigation Receiver, a HDMI-MHL conversion cable (KCA-MH100: sold separately) is required. *5-pin to 11-pin micro USB adapter or HDMI adapter is required when using Samsung products. Functions:
- Apps Launcher If the receiver is supported apps launcher function, it can be launch the apps that has been allowed to operate while driving from the launcher home screen. Apps that has been allowed to operate while driving. KENWOOD Music Control TuneIn Radio Waze
* In other than the above apps, it is possible only display the screen while driving.
- Tap and Drag Operation Tap or drag operation on the Android device can be operated from the touchscreen panel of the receiver.
* Does not support multi-touch operation.
- HOME/BACK/TASK Buttons HOME / BACK / TASK buttons will be displayed on the screen to operate the Android device even if those buttons are not displayed.In addition, it is possible to minimize these buttons when they are not required and the button location can be moved by dragging.
* Those buttons are displayed only while the Android device is connected to the receiver via the Bluetooth connection.
* When using some applications (i.e. video application software etc.), there is a possibility that those buttons are not displayed.
* If the receiver is supported apps launcher function, it is displayed Launcher HOME / BACK buttons while driving, and Launcher HOME / HOME / BACK / TASK buttons while parked.
* To use the "OK Google" feature, set to turn off the service of this apps in the accessibility settings of the Android device. In this case, HOME / BACK / TASK buttons will not be able to use but will be displayed.
- Screen fixed to Landscape mode display / Screen sleep function disabled While the Android device is connected to the receiver, the screen is fixed to landscape display mode and screen sleep function is disabled automatically.
* The previous settings will be automatically set after the Bluetooth connection with the receiver is disconnected.
* The application is displayed in portrait mode display if it does not support landscape mode display. In this case, the operating range will also change to fit within the display range automatically.
* Since the screen sleep function is disabled during the Bluetooth connection to the receiver, there are cases where the battery consumption is increased.
- Power Saving Setting (Allow Connection) If this setting is turned OFF, the battery consumption of Android device will be decreased while the Bluetooth connection with the receiver is disconnected.
* To connect to the receiver, this setting should be turned ON again. (It does not turn ON automatically.) Works for me! My Kenwood stopped working with the android phone, and a pop-up stated this app needed to be installed. Back to full functionality, including touch screen in my car. No issues whatsoever, thankfully.
I have a Kenwood radio installed on my car. I got because it has Android Car play connectivity. I installed this app on my phone and it took complete control of my phone! I had to give the app permission to operate my phone's functions, then I could do nothing with my phone! No texting, no calling, no nothing! Not even when I was away from the car! I had to delete the app then I had to go in my phone's settings and turn the connectivity settings back to off! Worse app ever! DO NOT TRY IT!
this app is horrible. KENWOOD make some of the greatest audio products on earth. My first job in highschool I spent my wage on a KENWOOD power amp because they were the best. This app is the worst android app i have ever used. It is the exact opposite of the KM992 power amplifier.
One of the worst apps I have ever experienced! It took over control of my phone and made it nearly impossible to navigate the most basic functions and tasks. I was finally able to remove it from my phone.
Complete garbage. Running an s9 on the ddx375bt is completely useless. All you get is Bluetooth connection. No other interactions with phone are possible.
Another waste of time. Can't charge my phone, can't connect to it. Utterly useless! Kills my battery trying to connect. I'm forced to use it, but it DOESN'T WORK!!
Hi, pls help. I installed this app on my android stick and then connect to my kenwood ddx55bt just fine using app mode. But the display resolution is too small. But if change to hdmi display, it went smoothly Btw:screen calibration not working.
What a complete waste of app! Good luck getting a connection at all. Stereo purchased on the strength of screen mirroring my Android phone, with a total fail. Get your act together Kenwood!!
It's been abandoned. Android 10 and most other recent versions are not supported. Just another useless pointless app from Kenwood. Never buying a Kenwood head unit again.
When I press the connect button nothing happens and my car stereo doesn't detect it. As of now, the app is useless!
Everyone is blaming kenwood when in fact it's the phone. The phone must be MHL compatible. Galaxy s5 and below work fine. S6 and s7 do not have mhl, s8 does but you have to use the s8 tablet mhl adapter. Works fine.
What the hell ???? This App doesn't work and even last updated in 2016. Kenwood this is very very very bad. I am not goona use and refer kenwood anymore.

App doesn't seem to do anything for me. All that comes up is a screen asking to connect and then nothing. No where to go at all other than that screen
Terrible. Headunit says no control app is installed, then when it finally connects just shows a blank screen.
Always disconnects and stalls. I have to repeatedly unplug and plug in while driving. Very hazardous and ANNOYING.
Won't work- I have tried everything but this app will Not talk to the car system... thought that kenwood was a good brand, but this has proved me wrong

Rubbish app, not updated since 2016! I won't be buying a Kenwood product again and will switch to Pioneer for my next unit.
android phone sony will not connect up to the DDX4016DAB for apps, maps using usb or bluetooth with this app.

This app worked perfect on my note 8 until the Android 9 update. Now there is a cursor arrow that doesn't match what I am touching on the head unit screen. Dont know if this is a Android issue or Kenwood. would be nice if someone could fix this. As a side note the first time I used the Kenwood app after the update the Samsung DEX popped up, I was only allowed to hit continue.
