I was able to get the app to reconnect by enabling the Physical Activity permission on my phone. Regardless, the app doesn't automatically connect to the car unless I pull my phone out of my pocket, open the app, disconnect, and reconnect. This should be an easy fix. Pretty disappointing experience for a very expensive stereo.
There are lots of hateful reviews on here. I purchased a DNR1007XR in September, installed Inrix in November after seeing lots of negative feedback. I've had no issues whatsoever. No connection problems. The data doesn't seem too in-depth, so I wonder about its accuracy (and essentially it's usefulness). I need to spend more time with it to know for sure. On a great note, as soon as I logged in, it registered my head unit and gave me 2 more free years of service bringing the total to 5 years
I activated a new phone (Galaxy Note 10+, SM-N975U) on 2/6/2020. I also updated the app at that time. My KENWOOD Traffic has not connected correctly since. After pressing "Connect" the app takes a second and then changes to "Connected". However, I never get traffic or weather, so I am unclear what is "connected". I am giving this app 3 stars because I never had much of an issue prior to the new phone/update. The app rarely connected automatically, but did work when manually connected.
Since updating app to version 1.5. Upon first open after update I signed in with name and email. I received the notification that my account has been activated/updated. Unfortunately, the app no longer works properly with my Kenwood dnx773s. App no longer opens and connects automatically. If I open app and tap connect. It will connect. I can see the connection icon within the Garmin gps on my dnx773s. However, traffic icon stays greyed out indefinitely. No traffic data at all. Please fix!
Well only been using for a day now and its nice to get real time updates as i drive but the one thing that really gets annoying is that the BEEP for every update as im listening to my music. It needs to have an ON/OFF switch so it doesnt interrupt my music every 10th of a mile until you pass the congestion. Update that part and you will definitely receive a 5 star rating
1.6.6 still broke. I have the dnr1007xr, needless to say for that money I expect things to work. This app has automatically connected twice in the three weeks I have had it. other wise I need to pull the phone and start Kenwood traffic, then wait. %90 of the time it connects. other times it just doesn't. Installed 1.6.6 and It has improved some. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, with clear cache and reboots in-between. Samsung os 11. S21. It works randomly. worked 5-6 times in a row now nothing for the last 3 restarts. If I start the app and stop/start the Bluetooth, it connects most of the time. When connected it doesn't always stay connected. 1.6.6 has changed some but still not good. S21 phone with google FI
Traffic gets disconnected, but live when it works! I have a galaxy note 10+5g on my new dnx576s, and kenwood traffic drops at random times when it does connect. I also experience"pending connection" alot. When it does work, its awesome to see traffic and weather on the road.
Works only when it wants to, always say connection pending. Useless when really needed during long distance travel. Just won't connect when you want to. Connection set to auto connect. Please fix, last update in early April didn't do anything. Running on DMX1037S
When it works it is really good but so often it stops working usually as mobile signal lost, but fails to reconnect when signal recovered. This cannot be right as means one cannot rely on it at all. Why can't it simply reconnect as it's set to connect automatically?
Not working since subscription ran out and I tried to renew earlier this month. Kenwood tried to help but have been unable to resolve. Told me to wait for next version to be released. I'm disappointed, because the app was very useful & I bought the Kenwood because of the traffic feature
Predictable and consistent at NOT connecting. There's no rhyme or reason and no response . When it does work it's helpful but annoying. I really don't see the point of releasing an app
the head unit needs to be updated to its latest firmware for this app to work. If you can still return your head unit and replace it with a pioneer or better, do it, as this doesn't fully work. Kenwood is losing a lot of reputation over their dnx ddx car radios and rightfully so.
VERSION 1.2.0 Was way better with connection. Deleted version 1.3.0 and rolled back to an unsigned 1.2.0 version. I'll never update this app again. it wont even show up in the app store updates.. it's a win. I'll bump it to 2 stars since it 80% works on 1.2.0.. 1.3.0 is a mess. I hope you didn't pay good money for someone to update it.
Samsung S10 and DNX995s...works well, get in and start my car, open app on my phone click connect, wait for connectiin and away I go. 1 out 5 times it doesn't connect the first time and I have to close the app and reopen and it connects on second try.
Never been able to connect it to my Kenwood 1007, always says pending connection, and there's no advice online, all the other user reviews say the same. I'm looking for one person that can get this thing to work.
now why would Kenwood take something that Garmin hands out and charge for it, it is an absolute disgrace... i got the DNX994s to replace what was a great unit... that only lasted for a few months before things wouldn't work and then crashed.. it was sent in only to have a firmware update that had REMOVED the things that i paid for and for the reason of buying that unit.. most know this well known unit as Kenwoods problem child The DNN990HD.... it lasted another few months before it went into some kind of boot failure ....so thank you Kenwood for ripping me off for $2,000 and then again for wanting me to pay for something i should be getting FREE from Garmin and for the price paid for that should also have LMT like every other garmin GPS that's sold out there... way to stick it to your customers ..I really do enjoy so much taking it up the ol aruse twice from you... there will NOT be a third!
Not the greatest app in the first place. Waze is better. However I got a new phone and when I downloaded the app to this one I can no longer sign into the app. It just is pending, never gave me a login or not. Worthless. Dont bother using more than the free trial.
My God!!!!! Seriously Kenwood?! How does a company like Kenwood, that's been around forever building fantastic audio equipment, release such a huge pile of garbage of an App? It never works!!!!!! Disappointing.
Horrible app, works a quarter of the time. It will tell me the weather but doesn't connect the traffic part anymore. After spending $1500 for a head unit I'd expect this to be a bit more refined an actually work!!!!!
Very annoying to have to physically open the app every time I start my car, then has trouble connecting every now and then. Using it with Samsung Note 9 on Kenwood DNX995S
I got a new phone and the app will not work, it will not allow me to log in and keeps bouncing back to the sign in screen...I put in all info and keeps bouncing back to log in..I'm very frustrated!!!
Connected to bluetooth (Galaxy Note 9), logged into navigation screen on my Head Unit, (Kenwood DNX996XR) put in my info, hit save and it says " info incorrect"... I know my name, and my email address is correct... Repeatedly getting the same message... Equipment at this price point should not have such faulty software interfaces... Come on Kenwood/Inrix!!! 02/03/2020 App started working this week...(connecting to car stereo) I'm m not sure what benefit in t its bringing...Will follow up later
The app never automatically connects. I finally (today) turned that feature off. Seems to connect better manually.
Completely worthless. Won't connect to Kenwood's HU 90% of the time. This should be used as an indicator of what level of quality to expect from Kenwood.
60% of the time, it works every time. I never know when it connect to the head unit. Lots of restarting Bluetooth on both the phone and head unit, and force stopping the app to get the connection to succeed. I wish Kenwood would dump this app and implement the Garmin Drive app for its navigation head units.
