2. Follow steps in Key app to install and set up.
3. Enable and shop for eligible items to receive In-Garage delivery.
4. Monitor access history and control your garage door from Key app.
Key for Car
Prime members in an eligible area can have packages securely delivered right into your vehicle- at home at work, or other locations in publicly-accessible areas where you park regularly. Offered on model year 2015 and newer Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC and Volvo vehicles. Also offered on select Ford model year 2017 and newer, and for select Lincoln model year 2018 and newer. It requires an active connected car service plan, such as OnStar, On Call, FordPass, Lincoln Way.
How it works
1. Complete one-time setup in the Key app.
2. Select the In-Car delivery option at checkout when you shop on Amazon.
3. On delivery day, just park within two blocks of your selected shipping address. Receive confirmation when the package is on its way and has been delivered.

Incoming stream often freezes at times won't record Amazon delivery. Live feed during delivery hangs massive pixelation when transitioning for dark to light as door opens or closes. Delivery clips sometimes "unavailable" after recording . Very low quality cameras/app combo compared to Nest. Nest works flawlessly on our network. Only use this if you have to for Amazon in garage delivery.
Great app, just moved and was worried about getting my deliveries while at work as I get one pretty much every day. My Garage Door works with an app and after I got it working the app offered to set up Amazon Key, first I had heard about Amazon Key. They leave your packages in your garage when you're not home, I am so relieved about getting my deliveries now!
I would rank higher as really enjoy the convenience of garage delivery. Would like better if drivers paid closer attention to details. When my pickup is in garage there is hardly any room behind.Again today, packages placed on the left side of the garage, despite the fact there is a picture of where we want packages placed in app. This time, I even put a whiteboard on back of my pickup with the word packages and an arrow pointing to the correct side. Driver looked but still put on wrong side.
Garage delivery, I never really gave it a thought before but after reading about it it became a real easy option and it's been great so far.
Drivers never actually deliver to the garage. But they will indeed open my garage door and just leave it open for anyone passing by to steal stuff, and according to my security camera they are nowhere near the garage when opening it. They just do this so it indicates that they opened it on the app, then they'll just toss the package wherever and invariably a porch pirate takes it, which is of course the whole freaking reason I got Key in the first place. The driver will then indicate in their records that they did in fact place it my garage! Complained to Amazon at least 20 times, including 4 hour plus long phone calls with customer service and of course they assure me that it will never happen again, which of course is BS and it happens again and again and again.
After about 15 deliveries, I can truly say this has been an absolute dream! The drivers are totally respectful and I have nothing bad to say about the exceptional service I have received!
App works well and deliveries are great. Small note: the app notifications on a pixel 4 xl don't update the time to current time so if you pull down from top of phone for another push, the next time you check the pushes it indicates the time with no update. Weird. I'm always going "whoa, the door was opened an hour ago, but my package was delivered 3 hours ago?" Prolly just me? Anyways, great app, fantastic service, 5 stars.
Works great for Amazon deliveries. No more worry about items being stolen. Foe people complaining about driver still leaving package outside, I would recommend that they check if they have selected Key delivery option when placing order on Amazon.
I checked website and it says Key is available in my area. So I went out and bought a MyQ garage door opener. Setup and then the problems began. That was 6 months ago. Still doesn't work. Called Amazon weekly for 4 months straight. Everyone tells me they are working on it and will contact me in 48 hours. Latest is there is no update. Meanwhile they fixed the address issue for my neighbor, who doesn't use Key, but still haven't fixed mine. Out $300, thanks Amazon!
Placement determines if they can deliver. I had my sensor placed in the back of the. Garage and they were unable to open the garage door. I moved the sensor to the front side of the garage door and no issues since.
Unable to link with Ring alarm; some customers have a Ring open/close sensor on the overhead garage door or motion sensors in the garage, it would be appreciated if deliveries did not trigger the alarm. I imagine there was a method in place for this when Key first launched for use with smart locks on the front door
The only reason I'm installing this app is because there is no other way to turn off the Amazon garage delivery once you activate it. I've never had this app before but for some reason I need it to edit my Amazon delivery address.
Why even bother offering garage delivery when drivers don't use it! They leave packages everywhere except garage. On a few occasions when they do place in garage-they leave package right where car parks...so we can drive over it?! I have a table with a large sign for Amazon packages...they must be blind. Driver left package with resident?! Really...never happens. What a joke.
Can't add a generic non-subscripton camera like a Wyze cam. I will NOT pay an additional monthly subscription for a Ring or MyQ camera. Amazon needs to give us an option that doesn't require more fees if they want us to use this app.
Really like the feature. Many pros, most notably not having to go out in inclement weather to pick up packages, drivers always wait until garage door is closed before leaving and about 75-80% of the time packages are left in correct location (I cannot get to Left side of my pickup if garage door is closed so requested a location via picture on the right). Not all packages are "key deliverable" which I don't understand.
Today is the first time I have used the Key service with a Blink camera and both worked flawlessly.
Great and updated notifications. Can tie delivery to my Ring camera so can actually see the recorded delivery. Wonderful placement of the delivery exactly where I want it delivered.
Having your packages secured once delivered is great. But there are still some incompetent drivers that miss handles packages. I say that because they are caught on camera 🙄.
Amazon Key does work great; however, I would like it to be able to record using the camera to the hard drive on my phone.
Love it. I was skeptical at first but I can see everything MyQ cameras through the Apps. I doubt I will be going back to doorstep delivery.
I see post all the time from fellow Ring neighbors posting about stolen packages. With Amazon Key, I never worry about my packages delivered by Amazon since they are put directly in my garage. The driver always stands there and waits for the garage door to fully close before leaving. Peace of mind!
App works great, but drivers have found a way around doing key delivery. Amazon offers safe delivery to your garage but some drivers refuse to deliver to your garage because they are worried about your non existing pets.
We are having lots of packages stolen in our area. Amazon key gives us peace of mind.
The service is great, the app: not so much. Feels half baked. Notifications go off for general garage door events (when not for a Key delivery), UI feels dated and clunky, and very limited garage hub support (only myQ at time of this writing). In general, much lower quality than I would've expected from Amazon. EDIT: Added a star, as continual updates seem to be improving the app. Hopefully overtime all the issues I have with it will be addressed.
Works great really needs integration with smart watches though.
Updating my previous review to 5 stars. Apparently video is available of the actual delivery. There is still a bug in the app that occurs when the driver is occasionally unable to deliver items inside garage, and instead places in a secondary location, such as doorstep. The Key app never changes the status to delivered. The notification within the Key app remains "stuck" hence forward unless you unlink MyQ & camera, clear cache, data and totally uninstall, then reinstall everything.
Best thing for peace of mind. My packages are secure and there is no need to rush home to get them off the porch.
I was going to give one star but after I figured it out I am giving 4 stars. The customer service isn't great I ended up figuring out my sensor was up side down after looking closer. But I contact chat support for help no one could tell me why it from working to all of a sudden saying too many attempts and not working. Well I finally went to go rest and set up everything again. To find out the door sensor was upside-down. I flipped it around because it does say TOP on the one side of sensor.
A little overly communicative, but being so well tied into strangers using my garage is a necessary evil. Easy to set up and share.
I am so pleased with this service, i am able to deal at complete ease that if I have deliveries while I'm out of town, my items are completely safe inside my garage with the addition of the camera I feel so secure. I just wish all items on Amazon were deliverable by this option.
