The app barely functions. It allows you to see keys you've scanned, and possibly order them (I haven't tried), but nothing else. I try to delete keys and I can't even do that. I expected to be able to take a picture of each side of a key and scan it into the app, but this is not possible either. Keyme is a great service and a great idea with an insipid app and machines that freeze up.

Doesn't work. Sending keys or scanning keys will at first appear to work but then will turn red in the app and not be valid after trying to get them made at the kiosk. Or you know...they won't show up on the kiosk at all. Really frustrating and waste of time. Don't get me wrong I love this concept especially in emergency situations but it simply doesn't work...

The app was ruined when the ability to scan keys was pointlessly removed. That was the whole point of why I got the app in the first place..... I shouldn't have to go all the way to a kiosk to use a feature that was already part of the app nothing about that is "easier" than simply scanning a key with an app at home... Also "focusing" on the kiosks doesn't mean you have to remove the ability to scan keys on the app that makes no sense...

Made 3 keys, none worked! I followed the instructions exactly and the images were perfect. One was produced completely incorrectly using a blank that's slightly longer anf with a segment that doesn't match the original at all. The other two arr close to the original but not close enough. I'm attempting to get refund, but not sure how - will update this review with my experience

Simply doesn't work. Had a key shared with me. It doesn't show on my account and when clicking on the link to retrieve it keeps taking me to the download the app which is already on my phone. Called customer support but the support part was missing. They 'escalated' the issue. I believe that was a nice way of saying we don't know sorry. If the fundamental claims of the concept or app don't work and customers can literally go get a physical key key made at a hardware store while they figure out the issue, what's the point of all this?

Removing the scan with phone feature was the worst thing they could have done. It was the only thing the set them apart from the rest. I could scan a key by phone and it was mailed to me. Now they have some bull about making it easier to get a kiosk. Good luck! With everything shut down all their kiosks are locked away. Fire whoever made this decision.

I have to admit I was very harsh in my first review of this app due frustration over the scanning feature being removed, but I've since realized it was unfair of me so I'm revising it based solely on my experience so far. I have a unique work key I needed copies of & was able to find a nearby kiosk which was easy to use, & within 3 days my copies arrived & all of them work flawlessly. I've used the app 3 times since to easily order more and have had the same great experience with each!

Went on vacation and my friends key didn't work. Scanned my key and saved it and he could not access it nor was it available at the kiosk. I had to find a kiosk here and drive to it in order to store the key for my friend to print. Kiosk worked ok but the app is only good for changing your password. Without a workaround my cats would have eaten each other to survive

I gave my key to my visiting friend, assuming I could make a copy at a kiosk that day for myself. Though the key (in fact several keys) had been scanned in properly earlier in the year (each having the green check mark which is supposed to signify all is well), none appeared in the kiosk under my account. Fine. Things happen. Upon calling customer service, I was told they could only look into it if I made a mail order purchase. When a person needs a key made at a kiosk, it is not unreasonable to assume it is due to an unexpected event and perhaps is an inconvenient time to be forced to make a postal mail purchase in order to have customer service even look into the issue. I'm assuming they wouldn't have asked me to wait for delivery of the key by post before looking into why their service failed its one essential task of providing me backups of the keys I had scanned, but it's moot now, because I'm not planning to use this service anymore. tl;dr don't rely on this service in a jam or you may find yourself with no key until your visiting friend returns much later that evening. God forbid he loses that key.

Used to be really awesome, but they silently removed the ability to scan keys, which was the whole point of the damn thing. Edit to respond: this reply from the developer is a bold-faced lie. Claiming the reason for removing the app's most convenient feature, is "to focus on making it easier for our customers", is absurd. Do you think people are that dumb? How is it "easier" to physically travel to a meatspace kiosk, than simply scanning a key on your phone and having it shipped direct to you?

Don't even bother with this app. It's pointless now that you can't scan a key and have it mailed to you, like you could do before. I loved this app, now you might as well go to the closest Walmart or hardware store to get your key copied, because that's all this is now. KeyMe, you can save your auto response about "focusing on key copying at your kiosks", NOBODY WANTS TO USE THOSE. There's a dozen places I could physically go to get a copy of a key. Customers don't need or want your kiosks.

Worked when I copied a test key, but couldn't copy a standard key when i really needed it unfortunately. Bigger issue is that the app keeps notifying me that its updating my keychain, and you can't swipe the notification away. This seems to happen regularly and the only way to solve it is to log in to the app, then you can clear the notification. For now I'm uninstalling until i need it again.

The whole point of getting this app was so i could have keys copied and mailed to me. In my line of work i constantly have to share/borrow keys with co-workers and being able to simply scan the key, wait a few days for myself or them to receive it was great. Now that i cant do that bc they removed the scanner, the app is useless and ill be deleting it after this post. Dont waste your time with this app, just get the key copied from your local hardware store. App is a complete waste of time now.

I've gotten keys here before and it was great I scanned from my phone and they sent me keys. It worked great. But now They Removed the ONLY Reason to Download. Seriously with out the scanning what is the difference between this company and every other key kiosk in Walmarts, home depots, Lowe's etc.. Plus, currently with these stay at home orders going out to copy keys is not safe. The only reason I re-download is because I needed a key and I didn't want to have to go out!

I'm a disabled veteran, and the closest KeyMe kiosk is a few miles away. It was so super easy to get copies with a single snap. Now getting a key copied means I have to bother my friends and family, or schedule a pickup with the transportation service. Please enable the key photo copy feature again, if you don't hate America that is.

What... I can't copy/scan my key without physically visiting a kiosk!? Not what I expected. Where's the scanning feature I read about. I bit of false advertising if you ask me. Still curious as bout using it for backups. I was hoping to copy one of my keys without visiting a store. Guess not.

C. C. Sep 15, 2020

Scanned my key at the kiosk for copying and saved it to my account for future orders just in case it was misplaced or lost. Lo and behold, it was misplaced and I needed a copy. Ordered a new copy from my app account and almost immediately received a refund. KeyMe seems to have removed the mailing option for ANY keys saved to your account - including those made AT KIOSKS. What use is this app if I can't access my "saved" keys? How does one copy a lost key? This app is a glorified kiosk locator.

I was surprisingly satisfied with KeyMe. I had doubts they could copy a vehicle key, and what do you know, the copies worked! Unsure about other vendor pricing (I got 2 copies for $75 each), but for me, it was convenient because I didn't have the time to look for other options.

Warning!!! They appear to be engaged in elaborate bait & switch. They encourage you to buy a 2nd key so you can get a 3rd one for free but then they don't dispense the free key & when you complain they act like you are trying to get something for nothing when you literally needed three keys and didn't get what you need. Also I left a review on the BBB & they responded with a complete lie that they had refunded me when in fact they had refunded and then RECHARGED me. More bait & switch? IMO, yes!

This app is useless. You really should pull it from play store. It was innovative when you could scan your keys and have them mailed or pick them up at a kiosk, but now it's pointless and a waste of memory in my phone. I'll be deleting it as soon as I finish this review.

This app is incredibly easy to navigate. One of the best features is being able to store multiple keys digitally and being able to copy them if you're locked out. With the live kiosk map, you could go to a kiosk and get a copy the same day.

Mat. M. Aug 10, 2019

Ordered three copies of an unusual key to a cabinet. The keys work fine, and the process was simple, fast, and cheap. I'll use keyme again next time I need keys made, but I'd prefer to use a website instead of installing and running a stinking app on a phone. Why not offer the same service on the website?

Keys cannot be sent to a kisosk without some approval! Beware if you are going to use this for an emergency! I scanned some keys a few months ago for an emergency and needed them today. Left my keys at home and needed a spare pronto. Get to a kiosk and the keys are not there. Call the agent (who was very nice) and he says they need a day to fix the problem because someone has to approve the key or something. What's the point of being able to save keys if you can't access them when you need them? The app is cludgey and horrible. All in all a terrible experience except for their customer service agent who was fine.

I have used the kiosks before without incident but the app is hot garbage. Would not let me go to any other page after clicking 'my account', let me log in with Facebook but was unable to leave the sign in page. Tried signing in with email&password but just kept saying my password was wrong even after I reset it.

No keys in app... Locked out. Waste of money Update. 8/11/20 A whole week after, i get advice to contact the support team as if i didn't have time to try that when i was locked out. They were no help and had to "escalate" the issue to some other tech team. Never heard from anyone since then.

I randomly Googled places near me to get an extra key fob for my apartment building made. KeyMe popped up on Google there were 2 kiosks very close, 1 at Kroger and 1 at Menards. Went to Kroger and got it done in less than 5 mins. I paid for 2 stickers instead of an actual fob because they could stick on anything. They took about a week or so to get to me I'm guessing it took a few days to be made, but I was more than pleased when they arrived! Will definitely use again will try the app too!

Just like the others said and worse. Not only do you have to go to a kiosk instead of scanning (which was the point in the app) the closest kiosk to me is over 2 hours away... real convenient to be losing money...
