KHOU 11 News Houston

No way to control what type of notifications you want. The settings are there but they don't have any effect. Getting bombarded by "Breaking News." Uninstalling..

I use to love the khou app before the update. They fixed something that wasn't broke. The user experience is terrible now, its confusing and hard to navigate. The top stories dont have a picture preview anymore, it's just titles. I can't figure out how to see all the news articles either. All the radars from the previous version are gone. I'm done, switching to abc13

I have used the KHOU app for years. Sadly, when they did the upgrade they apparently decided that visually impaired people didn't need to read the news. Yes they do have it so you can adjust the font in a story by one level. For someone like myself and that is only after getting to the story. The homepage and menus can't be enlarged. I did write to KHOU the app when it first came out and told them of the problem. With no reply.. I wish I could get them to help me or else I will have to uninstall

I love almost everything about the app, but there is 1 thing that just makes me nuts when I'm trying to navigate and see the more detailed items. ADs. Now I get you need to generate some income to cover the costs of the app, but to be forced to watch the same 20 - 30 second ad every time I want to watch a clip seem a bit much. Can you find a way to let someone be tortured by 1 ad and then see 3 clips before torturing is again? What about a version where we can pay a fee for ad free?

Desperately Needs An Overhaul...I was not thorough in my previous description as, I hurriedly brushed it off. (Rate app, popped up during use..irritating..). Upon further use, I have to say that the notifications are to me, useless as, when selected from the notifications bar, the app opens, but not to the topic which the notification was about in the first place. I often cannot even find the topic the notification was about. User interface not efficient either. Bad combination...fix...5 stars.

Great to have KHOU 11 back on my device. Glad to see news and weather anytime of the day. I love all the people in the news room and on the street reporters. Thanks for being there.

Too many commercials, bandwidth problems. During the winter storm, this became a safety issue, as we had very limited phone service. KHOU should have a way to trim the data fat from the site during emergencies. It was really frustrating to spend 20+ minutes downloading the long video ads, then have the service lock up before you could get important news and weather.

App does not work. KHOU says it will alert you to COVID vaccines after you sign up. But there is no way to sign up. Graphics are way too small to read and can't be enlarged. Links in the app just take you around in circles. And then there are just ads, ads, ads. Trying to scroll around the ads just opens them and keeps you from getting real info. Articles talk about the frustration of seniors who aren't tech savvy. Yeah, I'm a senior. Yeah, I'm 73. And yeah, I have several Microsoft certifications so I'm plenty tech savvy. This app is worse than useless as it just wastes your time.

I'm very glad to have the app! It has been so helpful in guidig me to look at the news more, and it works pretty well. Some times I tap the notificarions that appear, and they lead me to a blank page instead of the news article, but I can access those stories when I open up the app.

KHOU failed. Very poorly conceived & executed app redesign. From the pointless image during load, to the home page which is ad-bloated, jittery and jerky, to the layout which is difficult to navigate, lacks visual appeal and poorly serves the content, one wonders who thought this redesign would be a good vehicle for news & weather delivery.

I really appreciate the quality, no buffering, crystal clear quality. It's a win win! Thanks!!!

I always make sure I have khou 11 news on my phone I get all the information I need for weather and anything is going on in the city that we need to know about. They're very good about getting information out to us immediately I would recommend it to anybody. I am glad have this on my phone with dish issue. I still get all the latest news and weather from my favorite station. Miss y'all.

The app, KHOU 11, provides a way to see the weather, in a simple, but informing way. It is a easy-acces app that is free and very fast. Not only weather, but emergencies like COVID-19, whats new for my area, etc. (Yall Houston has very weird weather) Overall, I request this app to my Houston people out there that are looking for a app that has, reliable, valid information when on the go.

The older format was so much better. I could go directly to headlines or verify section etc Now it seems to be in complete disarray. Also I have five tablets not running the latest Droid version and am forced to uninstall At least keep the old one operational. In addition what happened to the tv listings section ? It was a good easy reference while still reading the news.

Why did this app get changed? Had the other app for years. Loved it. Go back to the old app. This one is terrible. It is slow and just all around unappealing. Widget looks like a logo from news stations from 1976.... I could go on, but you get the point. But this used to be the very best app. Too bad. Good bye 11.

Why on earth would you change a perfectly fine app and replace it with this absolutely horrible mess ??? It is slow and the interface is much worse. It is difficult to navigate and isn't nearly as good as the previous app. Not only that but the feedback is now filled with 5 star spam saying how great it is. Not only is it horrible but you insult everyone's intelligence by packing the feedback with lies. Shame on you, this is absolutely terrible

Horrible. It infuriates me when news apps don't include on their first page a list of simple and easy to find links to basic things that readers egularly accesses. I wanted to see how the Texans/ Cowboys game turned out and I could not locate a link for sports anywhere on the front page.

Service runs sketchy at best and the ads make it unusable at times. It's almost as tho the ads are made by different developers cause they run better than the content and constantly interrupt what you're trying to view.

will not down load on my phone, numerous tries have resulted in the same result, waiting. Have tried almost every day since the original was cancelled the station. very much appreciate that you created an update that only works on newer phones , and I am not gonna buy a new phone just for khou news. thanks a lot!

only getting 3 stars because the STUPID ADS always lock up my phone where I can't watch the video I'm trying to watch. Stupid ads. Takes two or three tries to actually view the video that I clicked on. Other news apps I have don't do that.

Mostly a good app. Doesn't freeze like other versions Easy to navigate. Know the ads are a necessity, but accidentally clicking into them causes me to have to reboot my phone to get out of them.

The old app was much easier to navigate. All I wanted to do was watch the 10pm weather forecast and I have spent much more time trying to see it. I still can't find it and with the old app I could locate it within seconds.

For the most part, this app is very reliable. Occasionally, I have to restart it or back out to get the correct article to show up after clicking a notification. Otherwise, it's great.

Worst app ever!!! Super slow app and slowed my phone down dramatically! Hope you're not in a rush to get your news because the ads are never ending. Good luck navigating it too. So depressing.

Way too many adds. While I'm trying to read, adds keep loading and moving the article. Even the videos won't play until after an at least 30 second ad plays.

Forgot to mention that stories are not updated frequently. Stories that are weeks if not months old still get prominent positions on the page. Example of which is HBO pulling the film "Gone With the Wind" is still prominently displayed even though, at this time, the story is about 2 months old.
