Ki4a - SSH Tunnel

A simple and important app like this isn't expected to have this big in terms of memory and space. Also it didn't work given all the privileges. It kept connecting and disconnecting to server continuously.

So far.. It's the best SSH tunnel. Would be great if user can select which applications should use it and bypass the others.

Great app to connect to your ssh tunnel. Plenty of settings, rsa key support, not complicated to use.

A simple all-in-one perfectly working solution. UDP forwarding with tun2socks (badvpn-udpgw) is a missing feature.

sadly won't connect to any modern, secure version of SSH due to outdates macs. have emailed the developer and will update review of it gets fixed.

Great app however IPv6 support needed especially since Android P now randomizes IPv4 hotspot addresses. Please add IPv6 support, please

Does not disconnect properly, connection has to time out on the SSH server. Otherwise great tool, tested with manual password/auto password/rsa key, widget/tile is cool, (does not ask for password in manual password mode), on Android restart tile shows connected until a connection attempt, and if configured to authenticate with rsa key, first connection has to be made from the app, tile shortcut does not connect!

Great app. I've been having a big problem though when I'm using it for high throughout traffic. It seems like it can exhaust all sockets on a server which I've done twice to two different ones. For example, when using my FIOS router's SSH server, after all sockets are exhausted, it permenantly takes the whole router offline and never recovers unless you physically power cycle it. It stopped responding to any inbound connections, including its web administration console and remote management portal from Verizon's site. I also ended up causing the same problem on my DD-WRT router, I'm guessing there are some tweaks that can be made to sshd_config on the server to properly close sockets when they are idle too long or are stuck in a close_wait state? If it helps, both times it happened while I was watching YouTube videos which I'm guessing flooded the server with XHRs.

hello. this is the best ssh tunnel i have ever use on android. but the only problem is i can't connect to server by quick setting panel in status bar. it doesn't work on my phone (galaxy s8 plus). so, i'd be appreciated if you fix that bug. thank you.

Spent two days trying to make it work, but just doesn't. Some of the problems were of my own making, trying different solutions and some mistakes. Am trying to use it with SSH Keys but Ki4a seems unable to negotiate the client/server handshake. I get a prompt for the passphrase, but entering the passphrase results in the same error time and again: Permission denied (publickey). I've successfully tested the same key and passphrase with Connectbot and JuiceSSH. The keys and passphrase are good. I also tested using stock Android tablet with a userame and password, still didn't work. (Don't like how Ki4a stores the private key with zero protection. Would be simple to protect it with the passphrase.) But would love it if it worked. The developer worked with me to sort out the issue but couldn't. Ki4a just needs some more work. I upped from two to three stars given the developer's effort. First rate and I appreciate it. Tried but failed to work on Honor 8 smart phones and Samsung S8 tablet.

This brilliant app works perfectly. Turns your poor man's VPN (ssh tunnel) into a real VPN for your device. Routes ALL traffic through your tunnel. No noticable battery drain, stable, and best of all - no root needed. I will keep it forever.

Its quite an amazing app tbh. But I really, and mean REALLY, miss an option to automatically disconnect on specific SSID connection. That way I could have a permanently encrypted connection when I'm away from home (using Data and/or connecting to WiFi networks other than the specified ones), but it would disconnect when I got back home and I connected to my own WiFi (which would be the on specified SSID list). Seems to me like some kind of blacklist/whitelist feature would do the trick. Anyways, it's quite a unique app in that it does exactly what it promises, and it does it well :).

It was a great app but for the past few months I find I need to kill killing and restarting the app. Every few minutes or so I end up having no connection to anything and need to kill Ki4a to fix it. Problem started since the new widget was introduced. Android Pixel XL 2 Pie

Despite all of the attempts. I could not get the App Started. Shame. Has so much potential.

I like it a lot l, however seems to disconnect periodically and doesn't always reconnect automatically. Please fix

I'd love to see a kill switch feature that would disconnect the Wi-Fi and mobile data when the tunnel fails. Auto reconnect would be cool too. Otherwise great app, thanks a ton.

Does exactly what it's suppose to do. Now I can stream my tv providers live tv from outside my network. Very happy
