App does not block the Back, Home and Recent app buttons, therefore, when the set time ends, child can get to "Recent apps" and still use the apps. Another down point is not blocking the notifications or any other drop down menu such as tablet's settings. For instance, when YouTube sends a notification of a new video from my subscribed channels, inspite of blocking the YouTube app, child can access and watch it. Good point is I can block all apps even the ones comes with the launcher.
Don't like that you need to change the default home screen. I suppose this is okay if the phone you are using it on is solely used by your child. The app is almost a little too locked down for a knucklehead like me I guess. In order to get into Admin mode you must swipe up from the base homescreen. If your child has tried to access a locked app, you cannot swipe up from that screen (despite the colored bar at the bottom). You have to instead hit the back button several times to get back to the base/beginning home screen. I uninstalled it. Too much hassle.
I wanted to like it... The app seemed to work really well without bugging out or having huge delays, but it wouldn't let me add accounts for different children or exit out so that I could use my tablet like normal, even after telling it to exit. The app would open my settings and the second I left the settings it would open right back up again. That makes it really unwieldy to let my toddler play on the tablet while also letting my 7yo do his homework on it.
Good build, with exception to being able to access settings menu from multi window button. Needs tweaked to prevent the ability to push buttons at all. Perhaps a "lock button" feature embedded in the application itself. Until then, going to have to try elsewhere... factory reset concern.good luck with the app. Android 9.0.
easy to exit... once in the app, everything looks locked down with a pin. but my son can still just pull down the top menu and jump to another application. it looks like one of the permissions is not set, but when I click it , it just take me to my WiFi settings, with no explaination on how to grant the missing permission.
Great app, though I have some issues.. main one being that "this app is not allowrd" keeps coming up for apps that are approved, youtube kids being an example, he is watching a video, then it pops up and closes the app.. would be cool if he could set the "face" to his picture as well, but great work/start :) edit, ok great, is the repo on github? can maybe help with some prs
The application has good features to protect your children but some are also missing and the application has some bugs. Impossible to set another bed time than 21:30. I don't know why. Time schedule by application or group is also missing. Reason to pause the tablet should be customisable.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD! DO NOT DOWNLOAD! I have it installed on my old phone and it will not let me back out of it!! I am going to have to factory reset it, and lose all my photos and everything saved on it. At first I thought it was an amazing app, now my phone is stuck in kids launcher!
I know how to exit the app read this, I spent over a hour figuring this out. It's kinda sad the developer doesn't just put it in the description. 1.You slide up on the home button that's ON the screen. 2. enter you code you setup in the beginning. 3. Then click change launcher and switch it back to the default for your phone and your done. I deffently was very pissed about this It's common sence to put things like is in the description, or make a easier way to exit. Also you can still answer calls and texts from kids launcher. I would deffently redesign this app
not intuitive for kids and because they lack of ideas, they plaster the launcher with photos and videos. bought ads free version, made even less sense. keep the 4 bucks or so, I'm installing another one
Not recommend at all! We can’t switch it off app doesn’t allowed me to go to Main Screen after I have put code and everything. Do not install it. We are still struggle to switch it off
This launcher is the best launcher for kids as well as the people who are trying to reduce there screen time i recommend to use this app, it's a great app to be more productive. No ads, simple and easy to use.
Amazing launcher and 100x better than stock Amazon. Installing this and getting the launcher setup as default takes a few steps through ADB due to Amazon locking things down, but we now have a tablet that's easy for our kids to use, has access to all apps they need, and doesn't let them get into any trouble.
Got it mainly so my 5 year old could not go into Google Play and download apps on his own. Installed it overnight and once I gave it to my kid, he found he could click on an add and it would allow him access to Google Play, download and use the app he just downloaded. This app let me down, simply because it does not block access to Google Play via other app's adds. I did check the App store is blocked.
Great but it doesn't lick baby out if the notification bar on top. Can still be pulled down and things can be pressed
Great UI And This Is Great For Ages From 4-8 I Am Suggesting You Could Maybe Fix The Background Because When I Scroll Left And Right The Background Moves And When I Swipe Right Once I See There's A Massive Black Border There My Device Is: Huawei Mediapad T5 Your App Is Good Though I Would Recommend It! :)
The Launcher has come a long way from when I installed it for my daughter 2 years ago. The biggest pain point for me is that some system level apps or actions get blocked and there is no way for me as the parent to whitelist that action. Not is there any log of blocked apps to figure out what is getting blocked.
I like the app, but my 5yr old has successfully "escaped" the program twice in a week now. I am unsure if it's a glitch or a mistake on my behalf but not entirely trusting the program UPDATE: problem solved with fast response from developer. From 3 stars to 5
*update* I emailed for a refund due to not having several accounts. they quickly responded. even though the app didn't work for me, I am so appreciative of they quick response how do I add a second child? purchased the premium but cannot locate it
There is an issue. When there is an ad for a game the child is able to click on the ad to go to the Google play store and click any game or app they want and install the app.
The launcher limits what the child can get into as expected. Unfortunately it would randomly lock out apps that I had allowed for my child. it became quite frustrating.
Good app. But cant get subway surfer to be allowed. I have it checked as an allowed app but still locks it out even though it allows it on the kids launcher. So uninstalling this launcher for now
Me and my brother is so happy to play with it, And we don't have to download games because there are games in there, and my most favourite game is color by number, And you can add avatars like your picture 😊, And last, it can give you a information about your gender and favourite color ☺️☺️ Thanks for making this app 😊😊😊
This is a horrible app. Like it might be good for you guys but to me it's just horrible. So first won't let you delete the apps or get out of that app and when your going to a app there's a add.I hate it!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!
ads allows installation of applications, however the launcher will close the application. On a restart it seems this function has be re-enabled.
This app just didn't work for me. My son could still swipe down from the top and go to apps in the notification bar, then go to my home screen. Totally bypassing the locking aspect of this app. The notification in the swipe down menu did show kids launcher was still running, however my son was accessing all the apps I didn't want him to access.
