Kids Lock (plugin)

😭It never worked like the description read, it didn't lock a thing.4 corners to unlock nope just touch the screen or a button and it instantly does whatever. I'd installed cause my baby cousin liked watching my cartoon movies during church but she's less than 2 & kept touching the screen causing stops & opening other apps and pushed the emergency button once and called 911. It's a waste of memory I could use for more video space

thanks for the good app, could u make plz a feature, if i open ur mx player app, i get instantly to the last video i watched last time and continue watching it with child protection? for example: i put an video file with 2hours of footage on the tablet, my son open the app and watches the video, he stops at 1hour watchtime by shut down the tablet. next time he open up the app, he instantly get the video and it resumes and he can watch the rest of the video. plz add it, or plz show me which app does this, thanks a lot.

How to use it

Even I had a bit of trouble unlocking it. Shapes and colours add a whole new level to an otherwise boring video to children. I also like how they make a soft twinkling sound every time you click. And what's also nice is that children can't close the device and except it to be gone once opened.

This is a perfect kids lock video player. Now when my kid holds down the home button the recent apps menu doesn't pop up. I love love love this app. Just remember you need the mx player to use this app. So don't give negative feedback until you have read the full description. You will not be sorry.

I've tried other locks but blocking the home button was the real problem (see VLC's padlock system, for example). This plugin for MX player finally solves the issue and means I don't have to intervene to restart the episode of Charlie & Lola my daughter likes to watch.

I like this app and used it on all of my phones, but it stopped working ever since I got the Note 4. Hope the developers fix it. My son can exit out of the app pretty easily. I've never had an issue on all of my other Android devices. I would rate it 5 stars if this changes.

3 stars simply because the Home button can still be pressed, and dummy me didn't figure out how to activate the feature in the settings menu in the first place (almost uninstalled it). For those who have the same trouble, the developer should put it in the app description. So if you're wondering, get to the app's menu (sometimes the vertical dot dot dot) and select Display / Settings / Controls.

Good Idea, Poor Implementation. Unless you touch it perfectly and precisely and exactly the way it wants, it effectively locks YOU out, nevermind the kids. This is a valid idea that needs to spend more time in quality control testing; specifically, it needs to be made a lot LESS sensitive to exactly WHERE and HOW you tap it. It's not supposed to be a challenge, for heaven's sake—if the kids know it exists theyll eventually get it. This works based on them not knowing; as such, making it difficult (even a bit) is simply poorly thought out.

Works very good. But the major bug is; when the phones screen automatically locks, u cannot unlock it as this app takes over the touch screen. Same with answering a call, u cannot slide to unlock. The app freezes so u have to HARD REBOOT phone

Like this app. But one problem is recently annoying me a lot. My child frequently presses the home button while watching video. It minimizes the video even if the child lock is on. So she come back again and again to me. Home button should not minimize the video. Please fix. Thanks.

Hi rather than have a big unlock button come up when you press the screen that curious fingers will press. Can you change to a complicated sequence that you can't see i.e. press opposite corners or swipe a big o or w or press all 4 corners in order. Its just that having a big button appear when ever my daughter presses the screen just makes her press the button and makes the lock redundant. Cheers

My one year old loves watching music videos on my tablet but keeps unlocking it and making it louder and changing the video. Now touching the screen entertains him as well. Once he saw it he knew something was up and stopped touching the screen.

Anyone with a Toddler will understand the frustration (mine & hers), when she constantly presses the home button every 20 seconds while watching videos. This solves this perfectly and implements an important feature that should have been in Android Kids Mode from the start.

This is such a great plugin! Whenever i would give my tablet to my baby brother for watching his videos he would bypass the normal lock very easily and would venture out to the other areas of my tab! But since i got this plugin, I can rest assured that he is watching his shows without going anywhere else! Thank You very much for this great innovation!

Love it. True to its word. It does what it says. The best part is that it really is free. No ads kids can hit by mistake. Great job developer (s). Please if you update this app, keep it ad free as if you add some, it will make this app useless.
