Kids Zone Parental Controls

Strong Android Parental Control in 4 Easy Steps:1. Hit the 'Install' button above to install Kids Zone now.2. Create a child's profile and add child-safe apps to it.3. Pick your child's favorite wallpaper (optional).4. Set a secret PIN and lock the device.
That's it! All device functions and apps will be locked except for those you chose above in step 1!

How the Child Lock WorksOnce you lock Kids Zone our unique Kid Safe Scanning technology monitors your device 8 times a second blocking any apps from loading that aren't included in your child's profile. If an allowed app attempts to load another unapproved app, Kids Zone will block the unapproved app from opening. If your child attempts to make a purchase, Kids Zone will block the purchase. Moreover, if your child clicks an app's ads Kids Zone will also block the ad from opening!

Our solution to Google Android parental control is the best because it is the most secure while also being the easiest to configure!

Limit Kid’s Screen Time with Time-OutsWhen time-outs are enabled parents can set a device screen time limit. When the time limit is up, parent's must re-enable use of the device before kids can play again.

Other Google Android Parental Control FeaturesBesides restricting access to only parent approved apps and limiting kid's screen time, Kids Zone’s app lock will also:
• Prevent access to the Internet and block ad clicks
• Block in-app purchases or app installs from the Google Play store
• Re-lock the device automatically if it's rebooted
• Block children from making phone calls or texts unless allowed to do such
• Automatically reload apps for small children (Pro Version)
• Block access to Home, notifications, system menus, all device settings and personal data

Unique Features of Kids Zone Parental Controls
• Create unlimited profiles of children's apps for each child or for each type of app (Pro Version)
• Countdown shows kids how much screen-time they have left until the device locks
• Customize each profile with your child's favorite HD wallpaper
• Kids Zone analyzes apps on your device to recommend child proof apps
• Quick Unlock allows parents to quickly take incoming calls while locked (Pro Version)

Permissions – Why They’re NeededInternet connection
- Internet is necessary for Google Play licensing requests. Internet will not be available to your child unless you add a web browser or other Internet app!Phone Calls – This permission allows the app to monitor incoming phone calls to ensure the Quick Unlock screen is shown if an incoming phone call is detected.System Tools – These tools are used to monitor your device for running apps and ensures that only parent approved children’s apps are loaded. Kids Zone draws over locked apps to prevent them from being accessed, and finally, the device is kept awake so that you and your child aren't bothered by lock screens.

Update: for whatever reason the app is not stopping my son from going into other apps, settings, downloading apps, etc. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but no joy. Very frustrating, especially since I paid for the full version. 2018: I really like this app. It works great for my son. The only issue I've had with it is when I upgraded to the full version the app freaked out and locked everything.

It still works. They haven't updated the app since 2018, so none of android's new security features have been accounted for. Go to Settings/Apps and press the three dots in the top right corner. Select "Special Access". Select "Draw over other apps" (or "Appear on top") and grant that permission to Kids Zone. It will start blocking everything again. The developer needs to update the app so that it requests the correct permissions. Hope this helps!

This is, by far, the best kids' mode app that I have experienced! Most of the apps meant to limit what your child can have access to always have something that still pops up. This app actually does keep the kids within kids' mode!! Even when they hit the home button, it still redirects right back to the kids mode app! You can also set a time limit and once that is up the app still works, keeping the child out of grown-up areas, but turns off the child's access to games. Love this app!!

Great app, does what it says. I initially had issues getting pro version working on two devices, the second device didn't recognize that I owned it but if I try to upgrade it would tell me I already own the license... finally I emailed support (on Xmas eve) and got answered immediately! Seems like a glitch regarding play store, after several attempts to fix it I finally launched it from the the play store instead of the home screen and then it finally recognized the license.

kids Zone does exactly what I want and need. It allows my grandbaby (20mths. old) to play on fun childrens apps without being able to access other apps, phone contacts, etc. that are on my phone. She can have up to 8 apps, more if you choose the Pro option, and theres an option to make additional profiles for other children. Easy for her to navigate and pick and choose. Once I lock it to Kids Zone I dont have to worry about her answering an important call or text as shes playing. Love it!

Do not buy!! If I could give it no stars I would. I bought the full version, it does not work! When locked you can still access everything with no issues, make calls, etc etc, this app is completely useless!! It does absolutely nothing it says it does!! And they refuse to refund.

Up until last phone update, this worked great. Now using android 12 one up 4.0 and nothing works even though the app says it’s blocking. Phone can be restarted, any app used you just have to wait until the “unapproved app” message disappears and then u can carry on using it. You can swipe down for the notifications and settings. But the worst thing is that if the phone is restarted either by auto restart or manual, then the app loses any profiles, PIN numbers and preferences and so you have to start again. And yes I have the full pro version….. shame because this was such a great app that didn’t rely on you having to remove apps that you didn’t want access to but instead you allowed apps that you felt were safe. Like a said, a big shame

Not working on a Blackview Tab 9 on android 10. I have Had it work on other devices, so I know it can be good, but it is totally failing to block anything on this device. Doesn't take me back to the kids zone when I press home or back, or when rebooting, and despite a small popup telling me it is blocking disallowed apps, nothing actually happens and the blocked app works just fine. Once in a while I see the full screen graphic "taking you back to the kids zone" but it goes to the home page.

Almost perfect, my daughter's tablet has a camera and she is unable to view videos she takes because 'Video Player' is not an a available app so she gets kicked out any time she tries to watch a video from the gallery. other than that it has been good for what I need, but so far no workaround for this issue.

These kids can break any lock. Nice try though. The app at least says it's trying to fix the issue while they play in the pics and when it returns to the home screen it says device lock but doesn't return to the kids mode screen so they were off into my office apps and printing unnecessary pages. My 10month old is faster at getting out the app than the 7 year old.

This app does not work on my Samsung S10. My child can get into all of my other apps, download from the Play Store, etc. even when I've locked this app. The timer function also doesn't work. He can simply get out of it and still access all his games. I used to use this on my S7, and it worked perfectly. It's unfortunate that it doesn't work on my newer phone.

Loved it and purchased the Pro. It easy to managed specially it has pause button in case my kids need to do something in between and continue with the timer without resetting it. Only issue I have is that it doesn't have toggle to enable to add to Family Library as this is better than adding my account to the system leaving it open for someone to mess around my account. Fix this then I can make it 5 stars. - Thanks.

I tried a few different apps like this and hands down this is the best one there is. The o ly one my daughter has not figured out how to get out of. (3 years old) keeps her on the specific apps I choose for her and redirects back to them no matter what. They can't even turn the wifi on or off or even adjust screen brightness.

We needed an app that would allow our kids to use the phone for age-appropriate stuff but keep them from accessing the internet or other inappropriate apps. Well this is the real deal! It works as described and does a great job in keeping them safe from harmful content through the phone. You can enable/disable any app you have installed and can select from your list of contacts so that you can call/text them while the app is in lock-mode. Just make sure you remember your password! Kudos to the developer for stepping up and helping us unlock the app after we forgot the password! Great developer support and a great app. Pro version is worth the small fee.

The app continues to close down any app my kid are using and go back to the Kids Zone home page without good cause at various times (seconds to minutes after opening an app it go to the homepage) . I've checked into the app settings and the settings on my phone, but this recurring issue has become too annoying for my kids and me, so if this issue can't be resolved or advise me on how to fix it if it's on my part to do...then I'll have to find a more reliable Kids app.

This app used to be great, and actually stay locked. Now even if it's locked, my kids only have to hit the menu button and it takes it to the main phone screen and out of the phone. I'm not ok with this, and what is the point of having an app that is supposed to lock phones, but doesn't even do that. It's pretty much useless. I see the comments that it is an Android issue, if this is the case, and the app no longer works on droid's, it seems that this app should be removed from the store.

bug report: My 3 yr old found a bug playing around with "Device Locked, returning to kids zone" screen. When entering this screen and tapping the home button until screen change, the default android home screen appears and allows him to navigate to other apps, he then gets blocked when trying to access another app and gets redirected to the kids zone. This allows him the flexibility to test where else he may get access to.

Need to unplug from a few apps but the "unplug your life" apps are too expensive, too quirky, or don't actually keep you away from them? Use this! Block only the apps you don't want, customize your screen to only show those chosen apps, and plug back in with a simple pin code. The best part? The one time premium purchase is MUCH cheaper than the other "proper" unplug apps out there.

This application used to work and now, not. Have this installed on my kid's Samsung Tab A tablets and, while the app says it's blocking non-approved apps, it still allows access. I have had to hide all the apps on the tablet other than what they're allowed to use, but these kids are smart...won't be long before they find out they can access all the installed apps from settings. Seemed to work with their older tablets running 4.4. But not on current Android OS. App fix does not work either.

Update: Recieved a quick and generic response. It isn't a phone manufacturer issue, it's an Android OS setting that they won't work around. Found a new app that actually allows me to lock the home button and lock the launcher until I log out of it. Will be using that from now on. I used to use this for my oldest. Now, it no longer works. As long as 3 year old hits the home button she can get to my apps. The only thing that won't work when it's "locked" is the notification bar.

It's really good but it hasn't had an update in 2 years. It needs one. With the current school closures, my kids need my phone for online learning but as of now, kids zone keeps crashing and doesn't block anymore. Unfortunately, I paid for the pro version to get the best out of this app. When it isn't crashing, it's awesome. I don't think the developer supports this app anymore. I had to uninstall & find another app.

I loved this app at first. It locked up my kids' tablets nicely and I loved giving a time limit. The timer stopped working first. Sometimes they would have 17 hours left when I had the screen time set to an hour. And now it isn't giving them any time even after a new session has started and is locked. I paid for the full version so I am super bummed it doesn't work like it should. Will keep in case the bugs get fixed.

Jor. H. Jan 6, 2019

basically does what you want it to do. also identifies apps as potentially unsafe which is nice. obly complaint is if you have kids zone locked when the phone dies, it delets your profile forcing you to make a new one every time you have to reboot your phone edit: to reply to dev response, it happens on both my google pixels and both my galaxy s8s. it also has the same effect when using the tablets but i dont have them in hand to check their model or OS. left the review so yall could see the bug

This app is just what I was looking for. Got it one year ago and it's perfect. It allows my child to only have access to the apps in his zone. Set up was easy. I moved the apps he loves to kid's zone and locked the zone. He can move in and out of each app as he chooses, but he cannot access the rest. Even if he tries to exit the zone, he is brought right back. Wonderful App, thanks so much!!

Bought all pro features but not impressed, app is buggy. Home button leads not back to profile interface but the tablet home screen. It does block some apps but my 3yo has been able to access apps I have not approved. Have attempted to contact the developer with no response.

I wanted to set up a Fire HD8 for kids, restricting App access and eliminating the complicated screens. I tested quite a few apps and this one is the best, doing a great job. very straight forward to set up and control and helped me work around many of the restrictions the Fire HD has.

Gab. P. Mar 13, 2019

Perfect, except you have to pay to get more than eight apps on your child's account and it takes the child back to the normal home screen quite often. Kids Zone claims their app is still running and blocking out the account from returning to the home screen, but no. Once your child gets off of Kids Zone, they can get on what ever app they want (including YouTube, Google, and messaging apps)

The app works great at blocking access to any apps you do not want anyone to access. However, the kidzone crashes the app you are using when you attempt to use the keyboard. If this issue was resolved then I would give it 5 out of 5 stars in a heart beat! Being unable to use the keyboard is a big downside.

I've used this for a few years now, and honestly it's been a relief knowing my child isn't accessing apps, downloading games etc because she's only got access to certain games/apps. She can chose her own background while it's unlocked. I've never had a problem with the app. Think it's great and always recommend to friends. There's no ads shown in the app either and you as the parent is in control of what you allow your child to access.
