Since the most recent update, this app has gone completely downhill. I don't care about the kik live feature, so no comment on that. But the chat is completely busted. Messages very rarely send, or they're never delivered until the app is opened, thus completely negating a notification, but has absolutely no problem sending/delivering messages from bots. Extremely disappointing right now.

Normally I love the app (except the occasional pop up ads when you try to open a message) but suddenly today it isn't working AT ALL. I cannot send or receive messages and most of the time old messages are not showing up. What happened??? I cannot give an app a good review when I can't even use it any more..... A 4 start app when it works.....

9 years ago when I downloaded this app I loved it. Now recently with the new live chat added I have had nothing but problems with messages coming through. Friends will write back the same day but it won't come through until a day or 2 later, and messages I send seem to take forever to go through. At this point I Would give it 0 stars if it was an option . Why do developers always want to muck up a good thing when there's nothing wrong with the app to start with🤬

I used to love this app, but now I can't even log in and there is no one for support to help or contact. Very frustrating and disappointing that it's not fixed from reading some reviews. I had to pick 1 because 0 wasn't available. I have lost alot of friends and contacts. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous of times and sent an email for help and support but nothing in return. Just says come back in a bit. I don't think I will come back. 😡😡

Evening hours have become extremely difficult to get messages sent. Some taking several minutes to several hours. Tonight all my chat bubbles were white and unreadable. I logged out to see if that would help and then received a log in fail several times. Decided to delete app and redownload. Still receiving the log in fail. What's the point in keeping an unusable app....trash 🗑️

I've used this app for 7+ years now, and it's recent turn to focus on livestreaming has coincided with a severe drop in its usability for its original purpose: messaging. Later in the day, when more streamers tend to be active, messages can fail to deliver for anywhere from a minute to several hours, leading me to simply use my phone's default messaging app in the interim. Also, the placement of streams in the menu is getting more obtrusive of my chats with every update. Can't recommend as is.

I am a new Kik user and I find the application unusable. Every time I try to click on a message a full screen ad pops up. Not only can it not be dismissed, it can't even be dismissed once it has finished playing. I need to close the application and reopen it again and hope that I don't get bombarded with another advertisement. The x on the advertisements that normally close them are programmed to bring you to the advertisers website. Even more deceptive and abusive advertising behavior.

It's getting worse, why are you including streams to my contact list. Opt out. I can tolerate banner adds to keep the app free but these full screen ads kill the app. And the live chat, I don't want that it's total rubbish. I've accidentally clicked on it at times only to reserve bot messages. That's all new tho been dealing occasionally with messages not being sent both ways and no notifications. I'll continue using the app till me and my friends decide where we are moving too.

Ever since you took away the video chat which majority of people liked to use and introduced adds, it has turned to poop. I no longer always know when I have a message, it freezes and logs out. There was no need to change anything as there were no issues. I definitely going to have do uninstall and go elsewhere.

Several years ago when I first installed this app it was great. Fast responsive. Can send and receive images with no problems. When I reinstalled the app back in 2021 it was totally different. All this live stuff and ads popping up. It makes it unusable. There isn't even an option to remove ads.

This used to be a nice app. There is no longer a video option, ads are out of control for this being a chatting app, the people things across the top just take up space, no longer have an option to change background because kin was lost when ownership changed, and the bots need to be dealt with. I report the spam bots every single time. Nothing has changed. Now, I can't snap pics within the app because it wants permissions that are not needed and that I refuse to grant. Just trash now.

It was good app. But it turns out this app deserves a 1 star! First, a lot of ads appear nowdays. Second, a lot of annoying LIVE notifs on homescreen. The last and most importantly, why does it suddenly turn very slow to deliever a message. It takes entirely a day to change from Sent to Delievered, maybe it will end like BBM really soon!!

I've installed this app on three different devices and I am still unable to join any groups, specifically the one established by friends and coworkers of my own community. I only get an error code stating that something went wrong and to try again later. Absolutely worthless app if it can't even provide the basic function that it's supposedly designed to do. It honestly deserves less than one star.

I am changing my review to one star bc I am sick of all the spam bots they do nothing to fix. I also can't stand the live stuff. I accidentally clicked one when trying to open a message I had received and it kept moving the live to my messages and wouldn't let me get rid of it. I'll probably just delete this app. There are better ones out there people!!

Experience can be a lot better. The most annoying thing that gets in the way is being unable to join a group, which tells me to "give it another whirl", only to fail. What's the point in that, especially with having to reinstall the app, just to lose all your messages? And why can't I backup all my messages in the first place? This is absurd.

This was great, now not so much. Currently unable to join a public group I always get a message: "Oops something went wrong. Please give it another whirl" Additionally it collects data at quite a rate. I have had to unistall it as the size of the app on my device has been 2gb and 4gb at different times and this has been the only way to purge the data within it. The pushing of Adverts and kik live is a bit much and there are a LOT of Spam bots, I usually have 2 or 3 a day.

Was a great app for a long time, but after opening the app on the tenth of May, 2021, the app seems to be completely unusable. My messages are whited out and no new messages are sending. If the issues are fixed, I'd be happy to change my rating accordingly.

Messages sometimes never get recieved. Old messages aren't recovered if the app is deleted, then reinstalled. Also can't message someone on here for some reason (keep telling me if I want to ignore or chat; if I choose "chat," the on-screen keyboard will rise up a bit, then fall back down again, telling me if I want to chat or ignore again).

I enjoy the app and have been using it for a really long time. It definitely has changed a lot from being able to video chat with one another which is gone and more but this new layout is nice. I just wish the conversations wouldn't erase and we could keep the ones we.wanna save.

Kik needs to work on their app! New messages messages not been showing for weeks for many people. There is no support email for us to be able to contact anyone which is super frustrating. Not being able to receive messages makes the app near useless.

The app has been garbage lately. It doesn't send out notifications of messages. Also, the listed contact email is bogus. It returns emails as undeliverable. Why list a support email address if it's not real.

After the latest update the app is no longer able to create groups. This severely degrades it's functionality and driving me to use other messaging apps. Also the app can no longer be moved onto the home screen for some reason. The last update was an absolute downgrade. Hope they fix it soon.

It used to work fine. Now half the time I can't send or receive messages. The dark mode is buggy. Maybe set the live version as an option for those who want it. Clearly that has a lot to do with the functionality of the app.

Decent chat app, but has lots of bugs. Doesn't save messages, don't send or receive often, forgets contacts, groups, and private chats, have to reinstall more often now. More crashes, unintelligible meaaage bubbles, cant log in issues. Lots of advertisements and trackers. Also plagued by tons of bots and scammers. Becoming more of a mess. Wow fix your dang app please

To log on I have to verify 20 images of a monkey on a branch in the correct orientation. I got atleast 1 wrong. This is rather subjective when a branch can go at almost any angle! And there would appear to be multiple correct orientations. Pathetic ,can you not use recaptcha like a normal site or even something that doesn't involve a 20nstep verification!
